I had much better service with my last cable company, Xfinity, where I used to live. In my neighborhood the only cable is Spectrum, They frequently "quietly," go down for 5-15 minutes. I verify through other websites they are down. Their help on their website assumes it's your modem, your computer, your connection. They were down over 12 hours like a month and a half ago. Again, had to use other websites to see if they were up. I have to pay for high data and hot spot on my phone plan to make sure I can do work on my computer when Spectrum is down. They play dumb if you call or contact them through their live help on the website. Once you tell them you verified it's down they admit it. Tonight it took them 2 hours for an update and they estimated 15 minutes. If you're always unreliable, why would you tell your customers 15 minutes? I wish cable companies competed better with each other.

What are the speeds? Are there data caps?

I've been with ATT since '98 and I traded my flawless U-verse for the Air Hub and it runs like crap. Disconnects all the time. I wanted to go to their fiber, but it's not available in my part of town. So I'm looking for grounded internet instead of unstable air waves, lol. I'm confused on where to go and my cancelled Air will be gone by April.

What were spectrum charging ? They keep pushing promoting in my area non stop. Frontier is over $100 a month and that's no cable TV, I only need Wi-Fi

The cable that was connected to the Spectrum modem was the same that I used for modem+wifi that I bought and that I own (so I even save their 5 dollar monthly rent plus any purported need to change equipment when I tell them to disconnect service). Also, if you have a Samsung tv, they have free streaming services, and if you have a Smart TV, there are also many free providers (with adds). Finally, if you have a VPN app, then you can use web sites where you can see many streaming services for free. Hope this helps. Yes, Spectrum is disgusting and they literally steal, taking advantage of people's ignorance. They just hammer everybody to get new clients but, once they have them, they think they can treat them like trash and just exploit them.

YOU DO NOT NEED A HOME PHONE SERVICE for modern day internet services. Phone lines needed for internet services are a thing of the past, over 20 years ago when "DSL and Dialup" internet was around and required a phone line. Dialup has long been gone and DSL is being phased out by ALL internet service providers. Now it's all about "Broadband/WIFI" and it doesn't require an in home phone line to get internet services in your home. Stop letting them rip you off with a home phone you don't need. Much like your smart phone you can use the internet on your smart phone without having a working phone number. Example: you can connect through any wifi or usb adapter (connected to your smart phone) and then use the phone's browser to get on the internet. You can also tether from other smart phones with internet services. There's lots of creative ways to do it. But, getting back to the point of not needing a phone line to get on the internet. Co-ax cables run from an electrical box (NODES) in your area/neighborhood that are already connected to the home from the phone companies/ISP, that are hard wired from a box in your neighborhood, and ready for the internet, and with a simple call to the internet provider to setup and REGISTER a modem you personally purchased, (no need to rent theirs, they're inexpensive) no home phone line service is needed. Cancel it!!!!!! Your internet connection goes through the phone companies in your area used BY YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER, (unless they have their own cables ran in your area) and your providers OTA network is from wifi Network Towers in the area, again NO HOME PHONE SERVICE needed. At best you should only be paying $40 - $80 dollars a month for home internet, NOT $160. Unless you also have cable channels in your bundle, then that's another story. I'd recommend cutting the cord if you do and just use streaming services, free or paid. A lot cheaper. You said you use OTA free tv and that is GREAT! Smart move by cutting cable, if so? After you purchase your own modem/router, just call them up and return their modem and router and save $100's of dollars per year.

*Allegedly* Spectrum executives eat puppies and kittens on their lunch breaks. I'm not saying that's true. I'm just saying, it seems like the kind of thing they would, allegedly, do. 😉

Wow, that's quite the deal. No way you can get that price in NYC and, then again, after a year they silently start to raise it more and more...

@@AndreyBro0 Yup, lIke I said, they are devilishly wicked, and they use their ways to try to ascertain which areas are more expensive, and there they raise the prices, and others where they don't. I have friends who have always paid the same, but in Manhattan they end up increasing the monthy payment by 250% after a few years..

Wish I could get that price. they have raised my bill 3 times this year. I am currently paying $93 a month for 20 mbps.
