Ingredients:
12 oz. Ground Beef, divided into flattened patties
1 Red Bell Pepper
5-6 large leaves Iceberg Lettuce
2 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
2 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
2 tsp. Hot Sauce
2 tsp. Pickle Relish
2 Potato buns, toasted
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
Method:
1. In a large non-stick pan on medium high heat, drizzle in olive oil. Season patties with salt and pepper on both sides, then place carefully into the pan. Sear on 1 side for 3-4 minutes to develop crust.
2. Flip and cook until desired doneness. Over an open flame, char the pepper heavily on all sides. Place into a bowl covered with plastic wrap and let sit for 6-8 minutes. Peel charged skin off, and remove seeds and core. Cut into thick strips.
3. While burger is cooking, in a mixing bowl, whisk together mustard, mayonnaise, relish, salt, and pepper. Season to taste, then spread on both cut sides of the bun.
4. Place patty on bottom, then lettuce, then roasted peppers, and top with other side of bun.
