Where I lived in Australia there was a huge Greek population and I went to many Greek weddings. I remember the money being pinned to the dress. My friend Tula married her husband Nick and had a huge wedding dress.

its the same weddings here in Palestine i think we took these style of weddings from greeks because all orthodox and even Catholic in Palestine do the same tradition maybe because we are greeks in truth the Palestinian are greek before Arab stole our lands
This was a lovely wedding, and what a gorgeous bride for that lucky groom. I noticed in one scene a wedding guest was waving a golden object around the bride before the ceremony. Does anybody know what it was because it looked cool, like an incense holder. Is it waved around her to bless her and the marriage? For good luck?
I used to wonder what the difference was cause I'm catholic and by looking at the church and the ceremony I could see the differences but it was a beautiful wedding.

And so what? by the way they are Cypriot Greeks and their ancestry is a variety of different peoples unlike mainland Greeks - I am Cypriot Greek and my dna shows I am a third Greek, and the rest of me is Arab, Turkish, Italian and eastern and western Jewish - thats what you get when the world and his wife and husband and so on (going back millennia) conquer your country...

Hi, It’s a Greek Cypriot wedding that took place in the UK. The couple were both born and raised in England but their family’s origins are from Cyprus. My wedding was similar as I come from the same community. We’ve kept a lot of our traditions but also blended them with modern/ traditional English/‘Western’ customs as well. 🙂 Edit: I’ve just realised how old the comments I’m replying to are 🙈. I’ve kept my reply up though in case any newer viewers are wondering about the style and location of the wedding.
lol, if it wasn't for the music and the word "Greek" wedding, you wouldn't be able to tell if this couple wasn't Italian. All you Mediterraneans look alike. Not to mention, ancient Italy was also settled by ancient Greeks amongst the natives, so you likely have Greek DNA in you.
I'm from Greece, every wedding i've been to they have the same traditions and Mediterraneans and greeks aren't really similar its like telling a greek their Armineian.
I do agree Italian weddings are better, but we all have different traditions, all weddings are amazing but it doesn't mean one is better then the other, it depends on the person and who their herritaige is
