@@EasyGreekVideos αυτό μας δείχνει απλούστατα ότι ακόμη και οι πιο προχωρημένοι γνώστες και ομιλητές μιας γλώσσας είναι ικανοί να κάνουν λάθη κάποτε, όποιοι και να 'ναι. Δεν πειράζει στο κάτω κάτω άνθρωποι είμαστε, μικρό το κακό! Υπόδειγμα ενθάρρυνσης για όσους που μαθαίνουνε να μην ντρέπονται που κάνουν λάθη αφού ακόμα κι εμείς οι γηγενείς ομιλητές κάνουμε 😄

I just knew he is our guy before he even told he is serbian XD It was the way how he sounded when he spoke greek, i sound similar when i hear myself speaking greek so i was like hmmm, this has to be our man hahahaha

I love how in the Greek language they indicate people and languages with ancient toponyms (French=galliká "language of Gauls"; Italian=italiká "language of Italics")

some of them the [ancient] greeks named them, some others during the Roman conquest period the names were passed to the greeks as well. Modern Greek has roots to the ancient Greek, it's still the same language, so they still use the same toponyms as they did millenia ago. Great observation by you! France in Greek is "Galia", from Gaul. Italy is "Italia". Germany is "Germania", Spain is "Hispania" from Espagna,...even England is Anglia.. Switzerland is Helvetia from Helveti - I am not sure about the history of Portugal, but in Greek it's Portogalia - it has Galia (France) in the end - if you guys know any connection to it please let me know

Yes, especially in the south of Italy, you can still notice Greek influence, temples, traditions, the writing of ancient names (with X, not part of the italian alphabet). By the way, Marilena is also my daughter's name 🙂

Είμαι Βουλγάρα και μαθαίνω ελληνικά εδώ και 7-8 χρόνια. Ήταν πολύ διασκεδαστικό και περίεργο να δω αν οι Έλληνες ξέρουν πώς ακούγονται τα βουλγαρικά. 😅 Επίσης είμαι πολύ περήφανη ότι αναγνώρισα τα πορτογαλικά και τα καταλανικά. Ήταν πάρα πολύ εύκολο να αναγνωρίσω τα ρουμανικά γιατί τα μάθαινα στο πανεπιστήμιο. 🤓

What is she asking them? Are you working here in the cynllef? Council, centre? I understood the rest. Irish Gaelic speakers usually say dates in Engliish too. Common on Breton too.

You guys may not even believe it, but when I listen to Greeks , it looks like a (European) Spanish speaker person talking in an invented language except for obvious words like "economía". "anatolía" or "democratsía"

Με εξέπληξε το πόσο γρήγορα όλοι αναγνώρισαν τα ισπανικά αφού δίστασαν τόσο πολύ με τα ιταλικά 😮. Ήξερα ότι τα πορτογαλικά και τα ρωσικά ακούγονται παρόμοια, αλλά δεν πίστευα ότι το είπαν όλοι... Ίσως να ήταν μεταξύ ισπανικών και ιταλικών στην αρχή, και να είπαν «α αφού ήδη ακούσαμε ιταλικά, ε αυτά θα είναι ισπανικά». Αλλά και τα ισπανικά της Ισπανίας επειδή ακούγονται σαν ελληνικά είναι άμεσα αναγνωρίσιμα από τους Έλληνες.

I'm from Spain and my first impression was also that it was a slavic language. But then I heard the word fado and suddenly it was super obvious that she was speaking Portuguese. It's weird, how the brain jumps to conclusions

Τα Πορτογαλικά είναι ξεχωριστή γλώσσα καθόλου δεν μοιάζει με ρωσικά αλλά είναι ίδια με τα βραζιλιάνικα που είναι επίσης Πορτογαλικά, Ισπανικά μιλάνε στο Μεξικό σε όλη την κεντρική και νότια Αμερική εκτός Βραζιλία Ισπανικά μιλάνε στην Κούβα στο Πουέρτο Ρίκο και στο βόρειο Μαρόκο στην Θέουτα!

Γειά σου , Μαριλένα! Είμαι ομιλιτός πορτογαλικής γλώσσας της Βραζιλίας και μιλάμε πολύ διαφορετικά από τους Πορτογάλους, η προσφορά μας μοιάζει κάτι μεταξύ των ισπανικών και ιταλικών , ιδιαίτερα τού διάλεκτος της Γένοβας και της Βενετιανικής γλώσσας. Είμαι ελλινόφυλος και καταλαβαίνω καλά τα ελληνικά. Χαιρετισμός από την Μαδρίτη 🇪🇸🇬🇷

It's well known Spanish sound like Greek. Phonetics and grammar. You can understand it when all nations use Greek words, but Spain use them almost exactly like Greeks pronounce them.

@@hermespsychopompos8267 And I just so happen to be from a town in Peru home to some families of mixed Greek and multiracial Hispanic descent. My family is one if those, the Estampridis family. Yia sou cousin, my family was forced to change the spelling and pronounciation of our original surname Stavridis to fit the local Spanish phonetics better. I am Greek Hispanicamerican of Pontic, Ionian, Attican, North, and Aegean Islander descent. There are Greek mixed Hispanicamerican families found all throughout Perú. Especially with the family name Estampridis in the cities of Lima, Callao, Piura, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Arequipa, Cusco, Moquegua, Tacna, Cajamarca, Huancayo, Huanucó, Satipó, Satiró, Oxapampa, Tingo María, Chachapoyas, Tarapoto, Moyobamba, Chimbote, Huacho, Iquitos, and Puerto Maldonado. I'm done rambling!

@@mypanexogamouslineage965 tbh I don't have any piraeus people in my mind right now to judge. But as a term, there's not really piraeus accent. You can hear people saying about Thessaloniki or northern accent for example, or Mani accent but never about Piraeus. At least I've never heard of it.

I am impressed at how good on average Greek people are at identifying other languages, even if they don't identify all of them exactly or straight away.They seem to be very aware of the other European languages - much more aware than the people in my own country for sure.

@@tassia1954 Sorry for not speaking Greek, you have a good ear, one of the languages spoken in Monaco is occitan (it isn't catalan) but occitan and catalan are sister languages (those two languages are closer between them than with italian, spanish or french) also Catalonia has a region where "aranese occitan" is spoken and Occitania has a region where "rossellonese catalan" is spoken. Catalan started being a occitan dialect but it diverged from it.

The celts still live in Great Britain and the welsh (which means "slave" or "foreigner" in old english) language is closest to breton and the now-dead cornish tongue and all three are brythonic languages. In Scotland many scots speak the celtic gaelic language as in Ireland they speak gaeilge. The twain are goidelic languages. Fact: The author and philologist JRR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion) used welsh as a basis for his elven tongue sindarin and he used finnish as a basis for his older elvish tongue quenya which had become a "book-tongue" (as latin and sanskrit are now) in his Middle-Earth canon inthe time of the end of the Third Age. Tolkien *loved* the greek language. Whereas he wasn't so impressed with french or spanish and he found dutch utilitarian yet he also admired icelandic and especially finnish. 💙

@@sedatdargn7403 I think he mainly talks in Portuguese in his videos but maybe there are subtitles available. Other than that, there's a lot of online content to chose from honestly. You just have to decide if you wanna go for European Portuguese or Brazilian Portuguese. One might sound easier than the other depending on where you are from and on your native language.

Almost no one recognized European Portuguese lol Even we from Brazil who speak the same language than Portuguese people have a little difficult to understand them sometimes. That's why despite of speak a romance language they and 90% of the other countries who speak Portuguese around the world, speak with close vowels and sound more Slavic ( reason why almost everyone had a clue on any Slavic language ) while we, Brazilians, due to all the different cultural influence we went through, sounds romantic and sung.

Danish is the odd duck of the Nordic languages, but only because of pronunciation - the written language is pretty similar, isn't it? Anyway, looking at them from afar, they are similar!

Δεν ξέρω τι συμβαίνει στη ζωή σου αλλά θυμίσου όλα όσα έχεις για τα οποία μπορείς να είσαι ευγνώμων, αντί να σκέφτεσαι όσα δεν πάνε καλά. Συνήθως βοηθάει να έχεις λίγη περισσότερη αυτοπεποίθηση. Τουλάχιστον βοηθάει εμένα. Όλοι έχουμε τις άσχημες μέρες μας κι ας μην το δείχνουμε.

I was able to get all but Croatian. For catalan i knew it was in spain but didnt exactly know what language. My three choices were catalan, galicia and aranese. Guessed on this one and picked catalonia correctly. Forca barca. As for the welsh, i didnt know exactly what it was precisely but knew it was gaelic since ive been hearing a lot of it lately because of "welcome to wrexham".
