The 3-3 Packers face their former quarterback and old nemesis from a year ago, Brett Favre, as he leads his Vikings into Lambeau to face the Packers for the last time in his career.
Favre IS a true LEGEND. We are blessed in Green Bay to have had back to back HOF QB's. Two incredibly talented QB's, with different styles but similar results....winning. Rodgers a bit more "controlled" and more accurate. Favre was edge of the seat gunslinger. His rocket arm could throw a football like a fastball. Favre is a true Packers LEGEND. Favre had a heck of a supporting cast as well. But in the end BOTH are epic and incredible talents and we are LUCKY to have had the pleasure of watching them for so many years. I do wish the transition wasn't so tainted.....THANKS Thompson, and Brett your not blameless either. In the end though I thank you for being a hell of a player who FOUGHT for every down, every win, and through every injury. Farve=Ironman!
@Chase Miller again...big difference between excuse and a fact. When you're under pressure trying to throw a ball and getting hit, it throws the velocity off. Rodgers wasn't even touched on his ints..Just telling it how it is. This isn't rocket science genius
That pick by Collins is by far one of the best I've ever seen. Jumps over the guys shoulder to snatch the ball away, I mean how is that not talked about more!?
We're far enough removed from Favre leaving the Packers to play for the Vikings... This was extremely fun to watch. Favre, Rodgers, Lambeau field. What more could you ask for?
The ref was watching the receiver handle the ball, and not his feet. That's what replay is for. The right call was ultimately made. I think the refs seem to be erring on the side of the complete pass all the time now, and they let the replay process sort it out. Since all scoring plays are reviewed anyway, this seems like a sound approach...especially when (as in this case) you can't be watching both the receiver's hands (and the ball), and where his feet come down.
Man i was at this game, unseasonably warm that night. Town was absolutely electric after the win. You'd have thought we just won the Superbowl walking around the titletown district that night.
@@diamondrobinsonsr.8760 my family was cheering for Brett to win another one with the Vikings but I refused to cheer for him in purple haha loved Favre but not Minnesota!
They don’t play games like this anymore in pro football. This is how sports are supposed to be. True rivalry. I was a Viking fan and obviously devastated by the loss, but Good God how fun was this?
God those "Go Pack Go" chants at the beginning are Earth shaking. I can't believe I've never been to an NFL game in my life, let alone a Packer game. I've been to Lambeau field which is what's funny, and I've met Aaron Rodgers twice, but I haven't even been to the Cardinals home stadium, and I live in Arizona. Been to Dbacks and one Brewers game though, fun times.
@@scentlessapprentice88 Taking a tour during the off-season. I got to go into the suites, on the field, and walked around the stadium. It was really fun. The hall of fame is amazing too
Much needed closure for me after this game. I was young and got caught up In the drama. After this night I realized it’s about the team not any individual. Go Pack Go!
exactly what makes that year sweeter, 1 year after the Vikings and Favre swept the Packers and lost at the NFC Chip game, Packers swept Favre and the Vikings then won the SB.
What happened with this was NOT FUN as a fan. I am and always will be a Packers fan. BUT when this first happened I was not exactly happy with the Packers. After time and growth, and seeing the WHOLE picture BOTH sides made crucial mistakes. Is Brett Favre a LEGEND?....HELL YES HE IS!! Should Brett have played the retirement game with GB? No. I mean it was the same issue for a couple of years, will he or won't he retire? Is he or isn't he? We we're stagnant, BUT the GM of the Packers was not exactly forthcoming either. Again it SUCKED. As a fan I loved Brett Favre. He HELPED Green Bay become a champion again. He was a HUGE influence in getting Reggie White here, then many other incredible free agents. Something Green Bay HAS FORGOTTEN ABOUT LATELY!!!!! Anyway S.Dotson, D.Howard, D.Beebe, A.Rison, and many others came here and helped us to get back to and WIN the Super Bowl. Now again does THAT give Favre the right to hold the Packers team and their draft as some called it "hostage" for 2 years? Again NO, BUT again this ENTIRE fiasco could have and should have been handled better. Instead you had a LEGEND, a HERO to many fans, now gone. Granted the Jets were no threat, but then the next season....BAM. Favre is a Viking. NOW the fans split by this dilema had to choose. Some choose Favre and the Vikings. Some HATED him for going there. I'll admit the first season in Minnesota when Favre came here and beat us I will say I felt good for Brett, BUT as a Packers fan I was sick. As more and more "CRAP" was skewed and spewed on ESPN and other "sports" sites, I just got fed up. I now became kind of aggravated that "Revenge" was the motive. Funny considering how the previous year I got it a lot better. Point? This entire mess turned a LOYAL FANBASE into a split of Packers fans and Favre fans. THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!! But it did. All I can say is Brett Favre BUSTED HIS BUTT for Green Bay. He may have only gotten one Super Bowl BUT that trip back was and will ALWAYS BE UNFORGETTABLE!! WE LOVE YOU BRETT AND WE LOVE THE PACKERS. It's Ted Thompson we hate...lol.
It felt so good to watch Farve lose this game. Seeing that last touchdown get called incomplete after they celebrated so much and then to just watch Farve fall (down) apart and the defeat in his eyes when he missed the last pass? So great
Packers were damn lucky to win this game. Favre turned the ball over 3X and the Vikings STILL almost won. Oh well, any day that the Packers beat the Vikings is a good day!
wtf even was that throw from favre that was almost a td at the end there? that was insane lmao. we're so far removed from favre that i forgot what a fuckin CANNON he had
This is the game that Rodgers had to have to become who he is today. I love Favre and when I was 13 y.o, I got to experience what it was like to have your favorite team win a superbowl.
That last ball was there if Randy Moss only put in the effort to catch it, that's what was always annoying about him, he wouldn't block for runners, and if a route wasn't for him he would just half ass it.
No, Father Time caught up to Farve later that year. He was injured towards the end of the season, breaking his streak. The Vikings fell out of contention, and Brett never returned.
@panda44r Listen here poopy face pimple nerd, Favre did not get Moss " fired" He's not his boss. Also Favre wanted Moss for YEARS! Childress got moss traded, because Childress hated that Moss wanted him fired and went to Ziggy to say he needed to be fired. Get your facts straight. Straight Facts Homey!
Love these kind of games... Farve would either kill you or himself with his playmaking.. a gambler but fuck it he wanted to win .... Respect the fuck outta that man
Robert Dinkle What does that matter? You wanted us to lose (to the asshole who hated us and was playing for our most hated rival, no less), meaning your not a Packers fan. No amount of pouting and stamping your feet will change this fact.
LOL The one ref literally tried to steal the game FOR the Vikings by ignoring the fact Harvin's foot was clearly out of bounds and awarded a TD anyway. Replays clearly show he was looking right at it. Get the hell out of here.
QUARLESS TD WAS NOT A TD HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS AND BOBBLED THE CATCH, SHIANCOE TD WAS A TD. VIKINGS WON THIS GAME. THEREFORE PACKERS DID NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THEY WERE 9-7 AND DIDNT WIN THE SUPER BOWL. ALL TRUE AND REAL NFL FANS ALREADY KNOW THIS THOUGH
*Googles "Who won the Super Bowl during the 2010-11 season"* *Results: GREEN BAY PACKERS* I guess Google is wrong and you are right, Dale... SKOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!
@@KG-xt4oq keep telling yourself that the super bowl was legit. Whatever helps you sleep at night virgin. Was a bigger miscarriage of justice then the 1918 black sox scandal, the Houston Astros trash Cans, patriots deflate gate. Hell if we want to be real the packers have 3 first round byes the last 3 years and only ONE of those is legit. Lions packers Monday night football and two phantom hands to the face penalties on flowers GIFTS the packers a bye. So sad and pathetic how bad the league wants ratings 😂😂😂😂😂
He looked so dumb in that purple outfit with the stupid horn on it but the horn was fitting because he betrayed the best team and fans in the NFL the superbowl title town champions the Greenbay PACKERS !!! The blemish on Brett Favre's career was going to these losers but in the end he realized what it feels like to be on a losing franchise like Minnesota... lol love it ! Last laugh for the best !!
Paul Rojek No, this is the first Packers/Vikings game from the 2010 season. Look it up. We blew the Viqueens out in Minnesota later that year, but the first one was close.
@@brandonvandine310 ???? rodgers is already better than farve no question have you seen a single packer game of aaron rodgers???? sure he might not have records for td passes but i still think hes better then farve
Legend Gotta Catch Em All Nope...Favre’s last NFL play was a sack by Corey Wooten; however, I think Favre was done and would have retired at the end of the season anyway. But Wooten did sack him and Farve never played again. Urlacher never had a sack that night.
