@@willstylz5021The whole film looks ridiculous, so I'd say anything goes... It's cohesively absurd, so yeah, it's a bit daft to nitpick realism in fights.
Huge indicator on whether a military focused film is worth watching is how the filmmakers handle firearms, both the physics, handling, and tactics. The fact that in the opening scene there are zero spent casings ejecting, muzzle flash clearly CGI, zero recoil/effect on the shooter. If they can't even get that right in a scene that is supposed to sell the film to me, I know how terrible everything else will be.
Guys I for one have to say I enjoy watching you critique the crappy movies even more than the good ones. It’s much more fun watching you guys tear apart ridiculous scenes that make no sense. We get to see how much fun you guys have laughing at stupid shit. You may not realise it but that’s what makes the channel great we get to see 3 buddies goofing around and having fun. As a viewer it’s like sitting around with a beer and goofing around with your buddies. Thats one of the reasons people enjoy seeing Able when he gets to be on screen. It would be great to see all 3 of you on screen together. The serious reviews are great too but the sense of 3 buddies just hanging out having fun is what really makes the channel. Your a great trio of characters and I wish you all the success in the world. By the way I have binge watched almost all of Seal Team thanks to you guys and it really is an awesome show. Also Buck I think I grew up on the UK equivalent of where you and Able grew up lol. Never lose who you are guys, that’s what people love about you 👍🏻
I definitely prefer the bad movie reviews they're way funnier. The facial expressions when the clips start getting stupid are priceless. I couldn't care less about "showing more" of the movies as chances are if its reviewing something good I'll go watch it anyway!
To answer the daughter question… 1. Spec Ops, Fighter Pilots, Astronauts, etc. disproportionately have more daughters. Study was first conducted on astronauts, then fighter pilots. 2. This is because higher testosterone correlates to a higher body temperature. The XY chromosome (male) carrying sperm has a lower heat tolerance than the XX (female) sperm. 3. So on average higher testosterone males have more viable XX than XY sperm and thus more daughters.
The second part I have found at least is the opposite they are saying you have higher likelihood of boys if you have high testosterone than girls. As a matter a fact the females hormones at time of conception play a higher role in determining gender than males. Women with higher testosterone will be more likely to have boys as well. Sources are oxford and national institute of health. On the contrary studies have found one the reason athletes and some soldiers seemingly have more kids is because exercise depletes testosterone which increases the chances to have daughters.
"higher testosterone correlates to a higher body temperature" Um, flight suits, exercise will do that. There's an anatomical reason b@lls and br#asts are hanging out "outside" the body - to try to be a little bit cooler, so there's less spoilage of what's inside. "exercise depletes testosterone" Temporarily. Being more in shape tends to increase it. Unless one's popping some "supplements" they shouldn't. The more interesting field of research is, in women the testosterone production may vary due to more factors than just physical or genetic.
We had a kid in bootcamp whos dad was a Green Beret. Never in a million years would I assume those genetics came from an operator😂. Kid was brat too, and talked a lot of game for someone with a ASVAB score of 4.
Jocko Willink was saying they had some real knuckle draggers in the Navy Seals. High intelligence isn't a requirement to be a special ops guy. Jocko was an officer so you would expect to see a little more intelligence. They tried using soldiers with very low intelligence in Vietnam and that didn't work either, they were a liability.
Would love to see you guys breakdown & discuss real life ops like Popo Medic's mini docs. Seeing your input on real life events with your experience is always great!
Your guys banter back and forth is one of the reasons I really enjoy watching your videos. The actual movies are secondary. It takes me back to the days with my brothers in arms when I was in the military and we would be sitting around dissing everyone and everything and laughing our butts off. No better way to pass the time while on guard duty, or sitting in a fox hole or doing that hurry up and wait that the military is all about, or a weekend in the barracks because you already blew all of your paycheck and so you are waiting for payday so you can go off base again. Haha! In civilian life you do not get to have that kind of banter with civies. They always get hurt and/or upset. Keep up the great work!
I get what you're talking about,no one ever jokes or laughs at my job, everyones upright and wayyy-TOO-serious. The hurry up and wait stuff I don't miss, but, the ragging on each other, the banter and discussions on good topics I do miss.
"1% of spec-ops kids are worthy". Yeah, sounds about right. That's like the Catholic school girl thing, or Preacher's Kids. I grew up running around with a group of kids, one of whom was a "Preacher's Kid". He was usually the first one to suggest or back some debauchery. Admittedly, in my small town, about the worst we got up to was putting M-80s in model cars at the town dump, or flattening pennies on the railroad tracks and smoking cigarettes, but that guy was always the most willing participant.
Buck:I’m not going to start destroying it, I am going to try to give more constructive criticism. Kurt: That’s going to last , like, two minutes. ❤ 😂😂😂
I got a recommendation. The Cinemax series strike back. The first season was a bit goofy but it gets better after that. The main characters are a former SAS and CAG guys. Plenty of tactical situations you guys can breakdown
I think they already did a couple episodes of it, but the constant sex scenes made it a lil too weird. I do agree there's a lot of things they could break down from the show.
Man I loved strike back. Looking back at it, knowing what I know now, it's a bit corny, and definitely could have benefitted from a couple of advisors but overall strike back fucks.
One of the best shows ever made. Fun firefights, lots of explosions, boobs and butts...perfect entertainment! I watched it all again last year, and even that one oddly feminist season wasn't as bad as I remembered (we've seen so much worse since it first aired). Keeping in mind that it's an over the top "military" action show, the later season with the Aussie chick as one of the operators also works. They use that she's a pretty woman to their advantage a few times, and she gets the crap kicked out of her just as much as the guys. As much as I did like her, there's no denying that Scott and Stonebridge do rule. Those were the best seasons for sure.
I saw this movie a month or so ago. My cringe factor was high. I'm a LEO, so tactics are high on my list. This time around, you guys made this movie much more entertaining!
Normalize bullying action movie directors into consulting people like y’all (and paying them) who know their shit about the details so they don’t get roasted/have their movies panned. Enjoyed the video guys
I stopped watching this movie the first time, when she called the AK a machine gun. I later watched it out of boredom. Great episode on it. The most common things that get me with war movies, is stuff like walking silhouetted through enemy territory, talking on patrol about BS Hollywood stuff as if no one could possibly be listening for you, and radar scopes that have targets moving independently of the sweep.
In russian, both assault rifles and machine guns are machine guns..It's in the word "machine". Assault rifles are because machine guns are used as suppression or indirect fire. But they're the same in principle. Machine pistol is a thing. Imagine calling it a machine gun and being laughed at. Cannons were called guns too. An ak is both an assault rifle and a machine gun. Btw Im not even defending her because no one would say it like that but in general, I dont think it should be the ruling out factor for anyone, let alone hessica. If I was a green beret I can still call it a machine gun.
Two thumbs up for the tailing video, that would be awesome in this old veterans & new subscribers humble opinion. Finally a RU-vid channel that is willing to go the extra mile and produce some real life tactical content that the civilians population can learn from. Much love, peace and blessings
I used the same principle for knife placement as with my TQs. I was told it was called the diver’s triangle, placement of emergency equipment in an area that can be easily accessed by both hands
I'm a woman & I in NO way think I could ever be a Spec Ops soldier. I like to train with my guns & be aware of my surroundings but no. Tired of these messages in these crazy movies.
I would love to see a video on how to spot a tail!!! I'm not military, but I truly love your beers and breakdowns. I learn alot and have a few good laughs at the same time. I always look forward to your episodes. Keep up the good work.
Bucks face shaking his head 2 minutes in 😀 Then his smile when Kurt mentions the hair ❤ he was just so happy to listen to him literally lovely people and and an awesome channel also good for when you have Ptsd and spend a lot of time alone
I gave you guys the thumbs up for putting yourselves through that atrocity of a movie. I always watch props, the fire extinguisher in the bar scene weighed about a pound. Watch it bounce off the guy and hit the floor, it moved and sounded like an empty coffee cup. Good to hear Johnny Lee Miller is a good dude. My wife and I just finished all seven seasons of Elementary and thought he seemed decent.
I have always liked Jessica Alba, and I didn't think this was a terrible movie, but yeah... This was a low-budget 'paycheque' movie [although Alba herself is pretty rich] so a high level of accuracy and detail is not to be expected.
If you guys are looking for recommendations there’s a French series Cœurs noirs (Black Hearts) and a British series Ultimate Force. It would also be nice to see you guys react to documentaries. Enjoy the show, see you next week.
I just discovered your show and what made me watch. It was the name FNG I know I was going to like it as soon as I saw that. I am listed in 73 and finally got to my duty station and 74. I was a bad ass dental hygienist in the rear with the gear on the USS never sail. Love the show will keep watching it. Thanks for your service guides
I’m a huge fan of beers and breakdowns which I get on a Monday as a Brit now in Australia. A suggestion for you is Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, he also did a show called ultimate force about the SAS but his documentaries about the Brit’s in Afghan are excellent.
Just stumbled across your channel. Like siskel and ebert, 👍🏼👍🏼 I'm always looking for authenticity in military/LEO/shooting films and I love the input. Saved me 2 hours of my life. You are truly heroes. 😂
React to Atomic Blonde for a much better made female action movie. It came out 3 years after the first John Wick, and was done by the same director (David Leitch). But it never got a sequel, which is a damn shame bc Charlize is great in action.
Atomic Blonde isn't exactly a great film, but yeah, it's leagues ahead of whatever shite that Jessica Alba one is. Atomic Blonde at least has a decent budget, a lot of style, and pretty decent action, especially the apartment brawl.
I loved the fight scenes in Atomic Blonde . However there’s no way that she could’ve taken that kind of punishment in real life and come out on top , unless she was extremely lucky. That’s the one thing I liked about it, the choreography of the fight scenes, not only in that movie but in others. Seriously though I’ve been in a lot of fights in my younger years and fighting big blokes than me I always got hammered
Well, the US Army is churning out female Ranger School graduates like there's no tomorrow...soon it will be the Green Berets if it hasn't happened yet.
She is not SPEC OPS she is CIA. How dare you say CIA Operators can't beat anyone. She can't shoot she is a knife fighter and knives are the Great equalizer for women not guns.
Keep it up fellas. I watch for the banter and the anecdotes, like about the knife. Also, the tailing techniques. Hilarious! I watch every one of your vids.
A video about How to make and Lose a Tail would be extremely informative and entertaining to watch. Even incorporating a vehicle to vehicle interdiction would be cool too.
This video gave me flashbacks! In a good way. My last combat deployment I was attached to an SF unit with US Army SF, Australian SAS, Royal Marine commandos and twice a month we would have a movie night to watch bad war movies and the whole movie was just like sitting with you two.; God those nights were fun! One of the movies the CSM stopped the film and quizzed me on what I had learned from them and what did the heroes just do wrong, Holy shit CSM, I didn't know I had homework. I don't remember the movie, but I remember they did EVERYTHING wrong clearing rooms. Shit I got to sub just for the memories.
I have no idea of how I landed onto this channel but my face hurts from smiling and laughing. Hell yes I subscribed!!! I have some binge watching to do.
I enjoy all your breakdowns! It's quite incredible how many movies and TV series episodes you guys have done. I do hope you continue with SEAL Team and any episodes that are decent from different TV series.
Hey guys! Although I know that the beers and breakdowns vibes is more giving commentary on inaccuracies and how a "green beret or Abel would react" I would love to see how you would all react to a "how to beat" survival situation, for example a horror movie we love/hate "The hills have eyes 2 (2007)"
I look forward to your beers and breakdowns every week! You guys dosing the breakdowns are way better than these movies for sure! The show’s tagline should be: “we watch terrible films, so you don’t have to”.
You guys are killing me! I die laughing every time you guys starting ripping into bad movies. I’m a huge war movie guy so when I see a bad one I want to point out all its flaws like yall, so just hearing you guys gives me a kick. Please keep these videos coming. I’m also looking forward to more SEAL Team B&B!
Almost love watching you review bad movies more than good just to see the steam coming out of Buck’s ears with how mad he gets😂 Would definitely love a video about how to tail cars or spot a tail
Hi guys. I just viewed your channel for the first time and enjoyed the Jess Alba movie review. Pretty harsh review but valid. I enjoyed my first visit to your channel and I am now subscribed. Also, I'd really enjoy watching a video on car tailing. All the best, Garth 😄
I must say, I kinda enjoyed this movie.. especially because there were SO many scenes that made me look forward to the next BaB episode! 😆 keep up the good work guys!
I think that perhaps part of the problem with some military movies and shows like this one is that special operators in real life are so good at what they do especially against untrained enemies, to the point that you can't make a fight scene that is compelling because the special operators are so much better trained and more powerful than their enemy which goes against the traditional heros journey story where the protagonist is less powerful than the opposing force.
I don't know why you guys get comments about talking too much. The thing I enjoy most is you guys going off on a tangent based off whatever you're watching. Something you see reminds you of something and the next 5 minute rant or story is probably the most enjoyable part of the entire video for me. Keep on keeping on my guys.
Love this. Funny as hell, I’m no where your level, but I am prior law enforcement, (16 years tactical unit member comprised of former SEAL, Recon Marine, Army Ranger, plus many other past military members). I thoroughly enjoyed picking apart the ‘tactics’ used here. I just couldn’t take it seriously at any point. 😂
I remember reading the blurb for this one and immediately thought "nope." Seems like I made the right call. Thank you for enduring this cinematic masterpiece so I didn't have to.
