Thank you for your comment. Honesty is always the best policy, especially when dealing with CBP officers. We never advocate lying. What we do emphasize is the importance of clear and precise communication. Take a real case from our experience: a client, who is a physician teaching at a university abroad, initially described their work simply as “working overseas.” This lack of detail led to unnecessary complications. By providing the full context - that they were a physician involved in teaching at an international university as part of a U.S. partnership - it would have given the CBP officer a clearer understanding of their situation. As a law firm assisting clients in these matters, we understand the importance of being well-prepared to explain your travel and work situation accurately. Misunderstandings can easily occur, so clarity is key. Remember, being truthful and detailed helps officers make informed decisions quickly.

Guys this attorney is very right. I travelled to Jamaica recently and on my return i was asked by the officer how long will i be visiting because he assumed i was travelling on the visitor visa. My visitor visa wasnt cancelled when i received my greencard. So the officer asked me for my greencard, i without realizing gave my work permit. I didnt realise that i took up my work permit and not the greencard.... long story short i was brought to a room, interviewed. They asked me to show them photos of me working in the united states ( proof).. where i lived, work, , how much i earn, pay for rent. She asked me about my spouse...its good not to give one answer responses and if you have nothing to hide, u can show them your phone .... 😅 I did... the officer canceled my visa, confiscated my work permit and she told me to ensure that I always check to make sure I have my greencard when leaving the country.. they did eventually let me go, I was soooo relieved. 😂
