Billy's the best frontman I've ever seen. And for all their punk energy and authenticity, they're damn good musicians. There's not a single stray sound in what they play. Hats off
We need more artists like Green Day and Billie Joe Armstrong these days. Intelligent people who aren't afraid to speak real messages through their music.
TheLumpyHeavy fuck yeah man they are amazing lots of bands sound horrible live for example marilyn mason awsome singer but live he sucks his show does not but his singing is bad
kit kat Um...you do know that punk rock was created in America right? Both Iggy pop and the Stooges (Raw Power) and the MC5 (Kick out the Jams) predate UK punk by quite a number of years......and whats more....the manager of the Sex Pistols spent some time living in NYC and going to CBGB's and has admitted on record to basically "stealing" the whole schtick (as well as the fashion sense) during that time.
Love the moment at 1:41 where Billie and Mike jump as Trey hits the cymbal. These fellas grew up together and jammed from boyhood. To bask in the glory of a single that's this huge in a country you travelled to is pretty unreal.
I’m currently still growing up and finding stuff like this and I love it so much! It’s so hard to find people who like this kind of music. Everyone’s obsessed with Cardi B, Drake, Post Malone and other things like that. Meanwhile I’m in the corner quietly singin Cancer by MCR or rocking out to Green Day or tryna figure out the words to FOB or jumping around to P!atd (depends where I am for those situations to happen). Like one time a friend of m8ne heard part of a song playing on my phone and starting screaming AH YEAH IM GONNA KILL MYSELF TODAY because of how she heard the music. 🙄 Like can people get a clue and realize THIS is real music?!
“To do something that you feel in your heart that's great, you need to make a lot of mistakes. Anything that's successful is a series of mistakes.” - Billie Joe Armstrong
Everyone needs to stop listening to only one or two songs from green day you guys need to listen to other albums like 39 smooth, dookie, insomniac, and all others just stop listening to American idiot.
ultamite darkspine sonic Wow, presumptuous much? I BEGAN listening to Green day in the mid 90's with 1039 smoothed out slappy hours. I've been a fan of all of their music forever. But please, go ahead, and ASSUME I'm just a bandwagon fan, thanks. I really appreciate it.
MandoPony the comment wasn't going towards you. It was going to the people that see this post. If you go to my profile you'll see I'm a big fan of green day too. I wasn't trying to make you mad I was just telling people who see this.
ultamite darkspine sonic Alright, totally understood -- sorry, that just kinda pushed my buttons the wrong way xD No, I'm sorry, don't know someone named Corbin. I have a pretty small circle of friends and I'm a pretty anti-social person anyway, lol
Its been about 10 years of me being a greenday fan, and I still believe they put on one of the best live concerts of all time, along with queen, and some other top notch bands, the energy and showmanship is so great!
Yay, I was at this gig it was fucking amazing. Milton Keynes Bowl, UK... June 2005 - what an atmosphere. 2 dates capped at 65,000 people each! 130,000 people in 2 days! Best day of my life :)
Scuse me, you don't know basically anything about 5sos so you have no right to insult them. You haven't heard the majority of the songs, you don't know anything about them or anything about how many people they have helped so please stfu (: I love green day and I love 5sos they're both amazing bands k?
R.I.P Green day I like Green Day as one of the most popular punk bands of all time. However Emos have taken it over, and almost have eaten it alive. Shoutout to all the true Green Day fans...if any.
I wish people were as into concerts today as they were back then. Nowadays most people take up the mosh pit area and the front row just to film the band with their phones and barely anyone makes any noise or sings along with songs. Not all crowds have this problem, but it's so hard to see a live concert these days where people are going nuts and having fun.
I saw a recording of Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica doing a couple Black Sabboth songs, and the crowd acted like everyone was dead. Then, we have Ozzy, up on stage, jumping around like he's done a football-field long line of Coke. I was pissed at that.
I bought this concert on album, some 20 years ago (I'm suddenly 61?! How did that happen?). It still is the tightest, best organized, clean stage performances I've ever seen. Combined with the crazy energy of Billy Joe Armstrong it's very compelling.
Green Day was the last band to write an album that took the world by storm. I don't want to be too dramatic and assume that will never happen again, but I have my doubts. I don't know if one rock album can change the world like this again. I hope so.
I like your point. I shouldn't assume it changed anyone's world but mine. Do you think any one album has changed the world, and not just the world to different individuals? Can an album change the world?
+Cody Stabelfeldt Change the world? No. But I'd say the last album that changed America or at least impacted American culture and media was Nirvanas "Nevermind". Just my opinion though lol.
+Cody Stabelfeldt I don't think music changes the world, it is just the most permanent and popular expression of a movement that might end up changing the world. Long after the pamphlets, books, sculptures and paintings have been destroyed or consigned to history, music persists. That is why - long after the facts - we tend to associate it with the changes in society.
Remember when Green Day was the cool thing to like back in 2004.. i wonder if all these people still like Green Day? or were the majority bandwagon fans? (just wondering..) :/
"and at 1:39, class, is a flip phone. this device was used to take photos and record videos before the iPhone came out. please do take a moment to be awed by its historical value."
+Tom Campbell I was in my school production!! As ensemble but it was absolutely incredible!! It's just finished two days ago and I'm so sad as that was three months of rehearsals for it to be over in 3 days!! I now have a new found love and respect for Green Day! I would love to see the Musical! It would be a dream!!
The Best Punk band ever and will be- Greenday..Thank you guys for my punk youth days... But,where have you gone missing this days?? Missing ur band alot.😒😟😓😭
