Yeah, he's really surprised seeing he's become Sinestro Corps in the Regime universe. And in that case, it's because how Hal there realized Clark may have had a point about what he was doing, in spite of the fact Clark took it TOO far thanks to Diana and others taking advantage of his grief.
@@BryonYoungblood It's also a bit that even as Hal is surprised....Hal was the avatar of Parallax for a time well before the Sinestro Corp was even a thing. He knows *exactly* how plausible it is that he might be like that because he did it before. And that's part of why he's so utterly dismissive of his own justifications. He knows them already. He used them to slaughter other green lanterns and steal their rings at one point.
@@twinodoom It's been retconned a lot and the exact version of events that's canon is unclear. But at least in the storylines when they happened. Hal was never 'possessed'. He was never being forced to make decisions and he was in control of his own actions. Parallax was influencing him from a distance. But Hal Jordan made choices and has to live with those choices. Choices to put his fear of losing control and losing the people that matter to him above his respect for free will. Choices to try and instill fear in others to create a faux sort of peace. He succumbed to the same trap as Sinestro did (and this is ignoring the fact that in the original story there was no inter-dimensional space bug. Hal just had a breakdown which was retconned into Space-Bug when they wanted to bring him back).
Each emotion of the emotional spectrum has a check and balance Although Green is the backbone of the emotional spectrum and with enough willpower can overcome each of the others, even as it can be weak to those like Rage, Avarice, and Fear in other occasions
I still don't understand how people think Fear can give more power than other emotion ... Fear exists because the feeling of inferiority against threat they face, because they're weak ... The more someone feel helpless, the stronger their fear is ... If this fear turn into power, it will make the bearer stronger and give them superiority ... And when someone know he is superior, they wouldn't feel fear ... Thus make the power weaker ... Fear and Power is contradict each other, are they not ? ...
Hal's an interesting case cuz i believe he's one of the few people who can effectively use different rings pretty well. i dont wanna say it's a color affinity, but more of he knows how to ringsling. it's just he went yellow cuz he lost the backings of green lantern corp and has been telling himself wut he's doing is right and ultimately succumbing to fear throughout injustice. sinestro's a little different in this injustice cuz he's actually delusional that Hal's his bff or at least in the injustice comic so he orchestrated a few events to get Hal to stand by him. which makes his redemption all the more satisfying in Injustice 2 cuz he's not only back w/ green, but he also stood up to regime Superman as well. even if he didn't win, it was abt standing up for wut was right instead of hiding behind the cowardice that yellow represented
Somehow, it wasn't until this scene of Hal calling yellow "the color of cowardice" that I made the connection to why Yellow was Fear in the emotional spectrum.
@@pedromiret9195 in the past, the negative connotations yellow had been associated with jealousy and betrayal for the most part. One idea why that came to be is that Judas (the one who betrayed Jesus), was often depicted wearing yellow clothing. Starting with the ancient Greeks up until probably the mid 1850s, the colour yellow was associated with the production of yellow bile (Humorism was the belief that there are four vital fluids for life: blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. An unbalance of these fluids was once believed to be the causes of diseases) which they thought that caused people to be bitter, short tempered, and daring. The Greeks thought a greenish complexion was caused by an over production of bile in the stomach, and caused sickness, fear, and jealousy. Shakespeare's Othello helped to cement the idea of "green with envy" "Beware, my lord, of jealousy; it is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on" "Yellow-belly" is thought to have multiple origins. One of which is a "yellow bellied" frog that would run away from you if you tried to catch it. At some point, yellow became more strongly associated with cowardice. Eventually, being "chicken" became more popular. IIRC, the first documented case of the term "chickening out" was due to some sports event in the 1920 which one team never showed up. Why chickens? Could question. But kinda neat eh?
Gotta appreciate the humor in these games Also how nuts were things on the OG side? for like a day most of the league is missing and even when they figure out how to find them they've got Injustice worlds BS to settle
On the OG's side Flash: Hey remember that time we got sucked into an alternate dimension and had to fight evil, or at least morally grey, versions of ourselves? While trying to undo some of the damage they had done? GL: Which time? That happens every other year.
Regime Cyborg: So you're green again? Green Lantern to Regime Sinestro: So my doppelganger has joined your side. Also Green Lantern to Yellow Lantern: You're Sinestro Corps?!
@@Berd-Wasted. No, what I was talking about is how ever since he's been in the Regime Universe, everyone's been telling Hal that he's turned yellow only to be surprised and angry when he sees it for himself.
@@Legomaster87544 they're actually a couple of my favorites after JohnStewartand Sodam Yat. To me, Jessica is the embodiment of what it means to be a Green Lantern. Simon, on the other hand, is just the most badass when thinking of them prior to getting the ring. Bro saved countless lives at the cost of looking like a terrorist. Plus, I love how they gave him a unique lantern ability in the emerald sight.
@@ccelite3782 well yes but also no, I think the changing of the colors also changed the color of his ultimate move in Injustice 2 but I just wish it looked more like his Injustice Regime skin
Any normal hero would think "I'm gonna kick your ass.... or my ass? I'm gonna kick someone's ass!" But Hal just straight up went straight for "I'm kicking my own ass"
the fact Yellow Hal raised to attack first, blasted Wonder Woman who was a non threat. yet still tried spewing his lies to Green Hal after all that especially when fighting for Regime Superman and having turned yellow it doesn’t surprise me that Green Hal instantly cuts him off to fight🤣
That was removed like 30 years ago in the comics. Once they realized why the weakness existed, they were able to compensate. So brand new Green Lanterns are weak to it until they get some training.
@@TheYpurias Unless you have Kyle's ring from the start, which had zero weakness against yellow...and held a charge longer... Plus, it protected the ring bearer from a killing blow. In the Emerald Knight storyline, Time traveler Hal swaps rings with Kyle to pull a fast one and uses the hidden perk of the killing blow prevention.
I like how yellow lantern Hal has a decent amount of armor (or at least appears to) but green lantern Hal has none. I like this detail because the armor is out of *fear* of wounds, and doing away with it reflects the *will* to take that hardship. Whether that was intended or not I find it a cool detail! Anyone else notice this detail?
Y'all want to know what I find ironic? When Green Hal said that "Yellow is the color of cowardice" it made me remember that in the old West, "yellow" or "yellow-bellied" was used as an insult to describe cowardly, spineless individuals.
It's funny to me that the big difference between the main Universe and the Injustice Universe is that they just gave up easier. "My wife is dead... might as well conquer the world." ~Superman "Superman is a dictator now... Guess I should let the me and the Amazons work for him now." ~Wonder Woman "You know what? Sinestro does have a point about fear working to keep the peace." ~Green Lantern
In the injustice comics hal was kicked out of the green lanterns and in a moment when Carol was falling to her death sinestro seized the opportunity to corrupt hal and offered him a yellow power ring he accepted it to save Carol
