Cool vid James. Flick of the Switch is really underrated, and good shout with Dirt. I’m like you you the production on And Justice never really bothered me and I think it adds something different to the album a bit like Garage Days. All the best bud.
Great entry for Kris’s contest James Justice had a big impact on a lot of us, what a banger of an album What’s wrong with a yellow vinyl ? 😂 Good luck in the giveaway Mate 🤘
Cool entry, Mr B 👍 I could sit and explain for hours all the things wrong with splatter, double, vinyls but seeing as I own hundreds it would be quite hypocritical 😂 Good luck in the competition, sir 👍
Great entry, James! Metallica's And Justice for All is an undisputed classic! Yeah, Fear Factory's Demanufacture & Alice in Chains Dirt are both classic second albums from them. Good luck with Green Sabres contest!
Hey James. Great video! Glad to see the two albums that helped form your musical tastes, love both of those! Alice In Chains for sure. And I too have changed my mind over the last year on the AC/DC album "Flick Of The Switch" and "Fly On The Wall" as well. Cheers
Fly On The Wall and Flick Of The Switch are 2 albums i have definitely changed my opinion on Bobby. Dirt is a beast of an album. Cheers mate as always 👍
Hi James!!! great entry and response to Kris's contest..... i think having those two huge albums as "music foundation" explains why you're on the right path, lol!!! I think one of the my issues with "Flick...." is the crappy (low budget) artwork, why?? back in the day a cover helps to see records and that one is a weak one. I totally agree with you on the 2LP sets, that's a crash grab. cheers and be well
The Flick Of The Switch cover is beyond basic, but i think it suits the albums more stripped back sound. Yeah the 2LP sets are just a cash grab. Cheers Cristian
James this is a classic video! The first two questions you answered may aswell have been me answering them! I’d have gone physical graffiti due to the old man playing it religiously when I was young, but justice, the MASTERFUL Demanufacture and Alice in Chains masterpiece Dirt I completely concur with. Dirt is quite simply one of the greatest albums ever made. If I had to pick five LPs to take to a desert island, that would be one of them without question. I’ve always said that alongside Chris Cornell, Layne is the greatest ever vocal in rock and anyone wants to know why, all you have to do is play dirt from front to back. Amazing, utterly amazing. I hadn’t actually thought much in respect of the coloured vinyl side of things as I am partial to it myself, however I can’t argue with you where the colour/stroke completely different covers lie! “Fucking yellow! 😂” made me chuckle. And yes - splitting albums across two records with a pointless side D etching boils my piss well and truly. Again, cannot argue there. Keep up the good work legend - this is spot on!
Dirt and Physical Graffiti are perfect records. Agreed on Layne and Chris Cornell, 2 outstanding vocalists no doubt about it. The majority of 2LP sets are unnecessary and can get well and truly in the bin. Cheers Matt as always mate
Great entry for Kris' comp James! Some really cool picks like Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Anthrax and AC/DC. I really wanna check out Flick of the switch, I heard For those about to rock the other day and really enjoyed it. Totally see your points, colour vinyl is cool to see but it has to makes sense in contest of the artwork. Maybe they put albums on a double LP set in order to charge more for it?? I guess it costs more to have your album over 2 vinyls. Best of luck in the draw mate 😊🤘🏻
I prefer Flick Of The Switch over For Those About To Rock. Most of the 2 LP thing is just unnecessary bollocks as far as I'm concerned Josh. Cheers mate
@@mrboulder9714 Ahh ok, interesting! That gives me incentive to check it out! This might be unpopular but I preferred For those about to rock over Back in Black! Yeah you're right when they could easily put it on one vinyl it just makes no sense to do it over 2. You're welcome mate 😊🤘🏻
1. Scorpions - Lovedrive, same story, it started all because of my father. Metallica - Ride the Lightning, this one I found myself. 2. Rainbow - Rising and Saxon - Wheels of Steel, both straight up masterpieces. 3. Rainbow - Down to Earth and Accept - Accept. The first one is just a pop rock album and the other is an example of a band trying to find their sound. I still think I shouldn't really like these albums, but I just do. 4. Couldn't agree more.
When it comes to 88 and Metallica and justice for all. It's master piece for me. It was year that I first got into death metal. I bought Death leprosy album. Mostly because of the album cover. But even till this day it as to be the best death metal album of all time. Now in the 90's. Apart from cowboys from hell. Two other albums standout for me. Fear factory demanufacture and machine head the more things change. Two albums that I never really liked, but have seen got to enjoy now. And that is load and reload. I was like what the hell are Metallica up to. Now Anthrax volume 8. It is a great album. Not as got the sound of white and stomp 442. Still I have to say is a joy to listen to. You really shocked me when you showed the Death angel album the evil divide. Why would they have a blink side to the vinyl. I'm so glad that I have it on CD/DVD now.
Yeah, Justice is a monster of an album and it definitely made an impact on me. Leprosy is great, I didn't hear it until about 96/97. Those 2LP with an etched Side D are a con as far as I'm concerned. Cheers for watching fella 👍
Great vid & entry James. I think the last bit is a pretty intresting topic, loved hearing your points and thoughts. For me I never really had issues with colored or splattered vinyl, in some cases I find clear vinyl to be really cool as well. Though I totally understand you buddy. It's 10x better if it matches the artwork. 👍 As far as the etching/2 LP's goes, I agree. My copy of Anthrax's "For All Kings" has no side D, there is simply an Anthrax logo there. Another example is with Depeche Mode's latest record "Memento Mori", the artwork can be found on it. Cheers mate, greetings from 🇳🇱 🤘
I have the exact same version of For All Kings, my side D is etched too. Wow, I'm glad I only got the CD of that latest Depeche Mode album then. The vinyl was expensive and now I find out Side D is etched, that's disappointing. Cheers as always Kenan
Fantastic entry, Boulder! Led Zeppelin's IV and ...And Justice For All are both phenomenal picks, as are Dirt and Demanufacture. I may have been planning on using one of those myself, though! 🤦😂 I fully agree with you on unnecessary 2LP sets. If it's not a double album, there's just no need, and it bugs the hell out of me! Personally, I think that Sadus LP is DISGUSTING! 🤮😜 Cheers! 🤘
Yeah, the whole 2LP thing is just bollocks and a way of trying to justify the obscene prices records sell for these days. Justice and Dirt are proper bangers aren't they mate. Cheers as always my friend
@mrboulder9714 💯. Pisses me right off! 😡 Yeah, truly incredible albums. They're both my favourite by each band, who are also 2 of my favourite bands! 🤘
Damn my parents used to liste to utter shite. You're lucky!! And Justice is an astounding album, deffo my favourite MetaLOLica album. I never got into Fear Factory. The clean vocals annoyed me! That Anthrax album has a fee hood songs on it especially Crush !! Flick Of The Switch is fucking amazing so is Fly On The Wall. Great picks mostly James!!
Excellent picks. 'Justice...' really is something else. 'Vol. 8' still hasn't clicked with me. I love 'Flick of the Switch'... but the production doesn't really fit the music that well. Oh yeah... I agree with you on the 2LP sets.
3 bands , he averages about 30 minute videos how does he have time to do laundry , cook and throw out garbage? New rule for anybody who makes more than one video a week I will only be able to comment on one card/album with Baseball playoffs , begining of Hockey season, Horror films on Amc this is why. but when it comes to questions we'll ask away thank you for your understanding. nice Led Zeppelin Zoso , Metallica - And Justice , good tv shows Dukes of Hazzard ,A Team did you also have on the incredible Hulk or just the 3 you mentoined? do you still have those 3 albums on cassettes? Fear Factory 1995 , Alice in chains - Dirt Anthrax , volume 8 the threat is real , Ac/dc - Flick of the switch , my answers question 1 I don't have an answer 2 sophmore albums better than the debut or just the 2nd album your favorite which does he mean? 1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid 2. Motley Crue - Shout at the devil 2 albums I didn't like but now I do hmm Wasp - all of their albums Twisted sister - You can't stop Rock n roll collector ripping their cd's to the computer. cd's are meant to be listened to say on a walkman or boom box not the computer. his videos are to long!!! yes I know you can move forward and skip certain parts of his videos, but everytime he makes a video it's like 30 minutes plus so I have no interest in watching his videos!!! how many videos of his do you watch comment on and ask questions? the whole video?
Disagree totally IRT 2LP sets, I would rather have double vinyl than too much music squeezed into two sides of vinyl. Hysteria is a perfect example of this, 60 minutes of music on 2 sides is crazy, definitely needed 4 sides, specially with the hi-tech sound.
I still can't stand picture discs, complete waste of money unless you wanna make a fancy clock & paying full price in box sets for records full of demos and unfinished songs. What a great upbringing from your parents me ode. listening to music instead sat all night in front of the TV. Kudos to them
