Not and easy one to do James. I'd imagine you'd get a fair share of every possible order with this one. I think I'd have to go with the same as you. But like you said all fantastic album and essential for any collection.
Excellent additions to the collection there James. All great bands and all the key albums in those sets. Wish I picked up that wasp set at the time, I might see if they're still available.

Yes i would of put Rust in peace at the top, killer album, i would of included persistence of time by anthrax, decent album nowhere near as good as Among the living and spreading the disease two of their earlier albums though.
So many great album from 1990 James. I actually forgot that "Swallowed In Black" was released that year, brutal thrash metal album. Nice seeing "For Whose Advantage?" so high on your list, that's my favorite Xentrix record. It blew my mind first time listening, sometimes I wish I could hear some records for the first time again. This was an interesting year in thrash. A few obvious classics, such as Seasons and Rust in Peace. Arguably the last pure thrash year before the Black Album and grunge changed everything. I loved some of these albums when they were released, such as Act III and When The Storm Comes Down, but these two have not aged well with me. Impact is Imminent is good but lacks the ferocity of prior albums. Nice ranking! Cheers!
Hi James! Great list mate. So many crackers! Artillery's cover of Razamanaz is really stiff, yeah not great haha but I love the original and early Nazareth in general. Suicidal Tendencies Lights Camera...was a big one for me this year. Agressors Neverending Destiny was another I like that came out then too. Megadeths RIP is a blast! Cheers mate!
Appreciate the video, but you don't give any analysis of the music / arrangements / compositions / lyrics / musicianship / technical or innovative styles or approaches to songs, production and so on. You just simply say ' that song is good' or 'that's a bang average song, to be fair'. 😅 It might be good for your audience to get something more from a ranking video.

I grew up with the more hair metal style of rock, and country as my main music sources when I was a kid... so these albums are right up my alley, and are two of my favorite Metallica albums (just being Ride The Lightning), and I find myself being in the mood for these more than I do Puppets even! Love myself some Low Man's Lyric, Bleeding Me, Mama Said, Outlaw Torn, Fixxxer, they're all bluesy, country-twangy songs. The mix is done phenomenally as well, it sounds huge (both albums), and it gives us a different side of Metallica, I'd have loved to have heard a true follow-up to these two. Maybe it's that I'm a teenager still, going through college, and these albums and the band in general carried me through some rough times that gives me a bias... but damn I love these so much and I WILL be buying myself the box sets when they come out haha My build for the album (12 songs) 1 - Fixxxer 2 - Thorn Within 3 - King Nothing 4 - The Memory Remains 5 - Bleeding Me 6 - Ain't My Bitch 7 - Fuel 8 - The Unforgiven II 9 - Low Man's Lyric 10 - Hero of the Day 11 - Bad Seed 12 - The Outlaw Torn It's hard to re-arrange this but I think this Side A is VERY solid, with Fixxxer being a real cool opening track! Flotsam and Jetsam - When The Storm Comes Down is riff heavy thrash record. The drums and bass sound superb in the mix. I love the production. Im glad you cought POT by Anthrax. That should be a top 5 of 1990
Great year for Thrash, probably the last really good, hahaha... Until I watched the video I wasn´t aware how many of those bands I´ve seen live in 1990. Well, almost all of them....
Solid ranking! Was wondering what your thoughts on “Cracked Brain” by Destruction, “Better Off Dead” by Sodom, and “Oppressing the Masses” by Vio-Lence are. All 3 would trend towards the bottom of the list for me, but they all have merit. Destruction suffers from not having Schmier’s demented nasally delivery. Sodom just seemed kind of all over the place on Better Off Dead. Oppressing the Masses isn’t bad, but the riffs aren’t as intense as on the debut, which makes Sean’s unique vocal delivery fall a bit flat (I love the increased use of gang vocals though).

Another good video. I would rank Sacred Reich towards the top because of my personal history with that album. I love the guitar tone on 'Impact...'. 'By Inheritance' is one of my favorite albums of all time. Love the vocals.The Xentrix album is fantastic to9. 'Coma of Souls' rocks and 'Never, Neverland' is a masterpiece IMO as os 'Rust In Peace'.
Another great video, man! Not overly familiar with as many albums as I am from '86, but still a great year and plenty of awesome stuff here, of course. Impact is Imminent and Souls of Black aren't albums I've listened to a great deal, tbh, and I don't really know Annihilator that well at all, so I think my top 3 would be Coma of Souls, Seasons in the Abyss and, of course, the almighty Rust in Peace in the top spot! Great ranking from 1990 James! Some really awesome albums here, and a few I need to check out too! I would have put Souls of Black a little higher, I love it! Act III isn't that great honestly, it's a good album but not their best. The newer stuff definitely as good if not better than the early stuff. Really dig Impact is Imminent, one of their best I think. The production is raw and the guitar tone is savage! For Who's Advantage is a great album too. Can't argue with your top 2, I think Coma of Souls would have been in my top 3 though. But Seasons and Rust in Peace are 10/10 albums for me! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
There's nothing wrong with Souls of Black at all, but compared to some of the other albums on this list it's quite weak. Seasons and Rust In Peace are essential albums. Cheers Josh

Souls of Black, By Inheritance, Never Neverland, Seasons in the Abyss, absolute classics. Rust in Peace is overrated, Hangar 18 is excellent though. What about Persistance of Time by Anthrax? Another absolute classic.

Forgot to include Anthrax's Persistence of Time, even though i listened to it twice recently!!! Decent album, but not their best. Also forgot to include Obnoxious by Acid Reign, not a great album.
Never liked Who's To Blame on that Sacred Reich album. Love the Tankard one. Was never a huge fan of Souls Of Black. Album before was too good. Sadus fluckin' rips!! That Death Angel is sucky. Love the first song, but too much soft shite on it. Frolic was way better. Fucking Love Impact Is Imminent. Great riffs. Yes! Fucking Exhorder! Absolute beast. Descecrator and Anal Lust...! I think I have an Artilllery album somewhere, kinda forgettable I guess.... Demolition Hammer rules. Seen them live. Amazing. Never been a Flotsam fan. Only like the "Hard On You"song. For Whose Advantage is the best Xentrix record. Love the artwork. That Forbidden is a weapon. Coma Of Souls wasa great album, but nail in thec coffin for their Thrash for ten years. Never liked Annihilator. Seasons In The Abyss is a killer album. I don't listen to it enough. Rilust In Peace is lexcelllent. Thought Persistkence Of Tkime would be in here... Great stuff James!!

Lots of great albums here. I absolutely love 1990 for thrash. Even though it's very late in the genre it's the year I'm most nostalgic for. I think I own all these apart from Annihilator.

Good idea for a topic James. A tough one to rank. I'd probably have pearl jam at the top, then it gets tricky. I wonder how many people realised at the time that it would be a significant period. It probably can't be topped either, such a short period of time with so many quality albums.
Great update there James, very diverse which keeps it interesting. Just picked up that Sabbath box set this week. It's a no brainer really as I do highly rate the Martin era. Headless cross is a gem of an album. Enjoy the new music mate.
