Green Tree Python Enclosure Upgrade to Meridian Zen Habitats! 

Updated Disclaimer: Please do not use guitar wires to hang branches. It seemed to be okay for a while and was durable, however with active snakes like GTPs it is not a good idea. I learned this last night when she got tangled in the wire. Luckily I saw it all happen and was able to clip the wire right away. Metamora is perfectly fine. The branches are safest just being mounted into the spray foam. I will make a video on this lesson I learned very soon! I like to try new things and this was something new I tested and learned from. I do not want anyone else making the same mistake I did! 💕

I recently did a diy 4x2x2 enclosure for my ball python and let me tell you: it was not nearly this easy 😅🤣 I definitely see the benefit of having one of these

I bought a meridian 4x2x16 and it took about 45 mins to put together. Not as easy as they say.. better with 2 people lol

Nice tank! Did you need to seal the bottom with silicone? If not, would water seep out of the bottom edges when you water the plants?

I'm getting an African fat tailed gecko soon ( originally decided on a leo but due to high humidity I went with a gecko that prefers more moisture). Already has some mealworm beetles as a clean up crew and I'll get some isopods soon

Thank you for all the content and knowledge you pass on to us all .. I have a question .. I just recently moved my 22 months old green tree python to the adult enclosure two days ago but it has not rested since I put it in there it’ hasn’t perched and is constantly moving like it’s trying to escape. Is that normal behavior cause of the new enclosure? I use to keep it in my walk-in closet when it was in the smaller enclosure so I don’t if it’s cause it’s in my living room and too much going on or it’s just cause it’s a new environment..

Can you do the background like this with other pvc enclosures or only with zen habitats?

Would be cool if they offered a taller, opaque substrate barrier as an option to make kind of a fence. Would be a good option for small tortoise species

is assembling the original zen habitat really that loud? like would you not recommend getting one if you live in an apartment? hehe also, can you put a heat mat on the bottom of a zen pvc enclosure?

That turned out beautifully as always! I love Zen enclosures but it doesn't seem that they offer a PVC enclosure with a solid panel top for those who prefer to use radiant heat panels for their reptiles. If they do and I just failed to notice, please let me know.

Looks great Tricia. Here is the major issue I am having while getting my 4x2x2 dialed in for my BRB which should be coming in March. Here's the thing. A BRB, especially a baby, needs humidity over 90%, ideally 95% or so. I have a MistKing system set up, where it will automatically mist when it gets below 90%. The MAJOR problem that I am having is the substrate is getting so super saturated, that there is standing water at the bottom, and that water is then leaking out of the habitat causing a HUGE mess. Any suggestions, hints, answers, help? I have a HUGE water bowl (it is a plastic oil change pan) in the enclosure, too, to help boost the humidity. Thanks
