I am absolutely new to tarot. Over the last few weeks I have been drawn to looking at different decks whilst not really knowing what I'm looking at or looking for! - and none have felt quite right, however The Green Witch Tarot has got all the elements that I think I have been looking for - nature, greenery, wildlife, beautiful colours and a warm feeling. Thank you so much for sharing this video!! I will order a deck and book tomorrow.
The only deck I've seen that actually calls to me. They are so beautiful and look so alive that I am confident I really could do readings with these cards; also for meditation to inspire or to heal. I just love them. I have many decks. May be I was looking for the right deck for me, but I have certainly found them in these. Thank you for producing such a detailed video.

I too am very drawn to this deck, I'm going to get it next payday, as I gave my mother my favorite deck, the gilded tarot deck, because that's the one she always wants to use when I let her. I also have the linestrider tarot deck, but haven't really dealt with it much since I got it a week ago.
I like no boarders , I really love this deck. As an older woman I really like seeing older women in the cards and the diversity.Just found you and can’t wait to see your other videos , blessings

I have the original card stock. I thought it was super thin...but I have also bought a different deck with the new Llewellyn card stock and they each have pros and cons..so my original disappointment is lessened...the deck itself is beautiful and I feel the stories flow. Despite the 3 of Athames not mentioning missing partners, I like that you thought of that. Story-wise it makes one wonder if she is down-sizing and moving to the small beat-up cottage because it is what she can afford now that she has lost her partner. I hope you enjoy it as I have!
I purchased this deck and put it away - I felt so emotional looking at it at the time I just couldn’t go on. I couldn’t figure it out but after watching this I might give it another go. I couldn’t part with it but didn’t use it either. ❤️
I love this deck and, being a green witch, it is perfect for me! The plants, animals and birds are ones that I do see or grow and everything in this deck resonates with me on such a personal level. It does a lovely job capturing the Wheel of the Year and the various season in the northern parts of the northern hemisphere. I only wish they had added a little more fae in the deck! This is my life in a tarot deck! :) I also like that they focused on every day life!

This deck is gorgeous. I think I will get it at some stage. The new card stock looks good, I think the real test will be how it holds up to regular use. Might get a reading with it from you, lovely! :D xx

I enjoyed your reaction to this deck! I felt a very similar connection as soon as I opened mine as well. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts after you've worked with it for awhile, both the imagery and the card stock. My Green Witch is the older and thinner stock but I have the Animal Totem which is made of this newer stock. I'm still deciding about the card stock, they each have certain things I like about each.

I'm a Satanist, and only use dark decks, but I'm all about nature witchcraft and the old traditional pagan ways...This deck seems very deep, and is stunning...I need this. Thanks 4 sharing!😊
Uh oh. I hadn't given this deck much thought either as there is something about a few of the faces that feels cartoon-ish to me. But your walk through, as well as Elyse's recent look at this deck, has me deeply reconsidering. Some of these cards are downright stunning, and I adore some of the visual reinterpretations of the cards (particularly in the Athames). The 10 of Athames totally does it- throwing one's self into the cauldron of death and rebirth, the Goddess' symbolic womb and tomb. I like that it brings a more ceremonial, intentional implication to the endings that card represents. Also, I love that you were checking in with your body throughout this video. Intuition is indeed embodied wisdom!
+PowerFemme I'm totally digging some of the reinterpretations, including the 10 of Athames. In it's traditional form, that is a really important card for me, so it's great working with a new take on it. :)
Thank you for sharing, Katey. I'm looking forward to your update about your experiences with this deck, when you're ready for it. I'm starting to love this deck more and more. Like other people have said, it looks like you have a later edition. I got mine a few months ago from a Dutch online bookstore. Your cards are a bit more glossy and sturdy than mine and the packaging is different. I have the 'traditional' Llewellyn packaging, with the supposed "keepsake" (?) box inside, like the Raven Prophecy Tarot, the Shadowscapes and the Steampunk Tarot. As to the guidebook, I'm not too keen on the use of "one" instead of "you". The language creates a distance imo. I do like the addition of the plant and animal meaning though, but I think the reversed meanings are too concise. I don't use reversals often, but when I do, I refer to the Mystical Cats Tarot guidebook for expansion of the reversed meanings, since the guidebooks of the RPT and the Steampunk Tarot (both of which I love to refer to with other decks too) don't provide any reversed meanings at all. Like AnneLien;s, my experience with the Book Depository isn't overall positive. Some of my packages seem to have been handled rather roughly, and especially the (standard Llewellyn) box of my Raven Prophecy Tarot was squashed. Fortunately, the cards and the book were okay. Actually, it didn't even cross my mind to complain to the BP. And to be fair, I must say that my last order was totally okay.
+A. de Regt That's an interesting point about the language use, I hadn't thought about it, but I can appreciate that it can be a bit strange if you're not used to it. :) I don't use reversals, so that's not an issue for me, but I love that you use different books from other decks to help you expand on the meanings. I'm glad your recent experience with BD was better, and I would certainly recommend contacting them if you ever have problems again. :)

Hi - are you continuing to use this deck? I’ve been drawn to it for a couple weeks and I’m not sure why but it’s like a feeling deep in my soul. (I own it but have not worked with it yet) I don’t see myself reading for others with it so I’m sort of at a loss - it feels like a personal deck 🦋
Oh Katey, I think this deck has just called me. It, the Shimmering Veil Tarot, and the Spacious Tarot are all so beautiful and different. Those are the three I'm deciding between. Do you still work with this deck ?
I am personally glad Llewellyn finally changed their cardstock. My version of this deck was printed on their previous cardstock. I love this deck but I haven't been felt drawn to it lately. Even though, it's spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Which is what the deck more or less gives off the vibe of. (Or at least to me anyway).
+Norse Pagan Tarot Witch I wonder how we know which version we have... ? My Green Witch is thinner and less cardboardy than the newer Animal Totem deck but I like both...

Ragged Poet I think we have the previous edition before the card stock change. Katey Flowers I agree. There's something a bit "off" about it. But as I said before, I like that it is thicker but maybe they could have chosen a different type of thicker card stock. I haven't had problems with it yet but I don't tend to really shuffle my cards all that roughly. Or at least not in the way people do when they riffle and/or bridge shuffle their decks.
Yep I can see it is the same stock as the Animal Totem... I love it... but I like my Green Witch too as it shuffles like a dream... but if you check out my Animal Totem video you can see how much thicker the new stock is compared to the old! I too wasn't expecting to be so in love with this deck, and I had a strong emotional reaction. Llewellyn have done me proud this year... two decks tha never went back into their box or even a bag!! Enjoy!!
+Ragged Poet Yes, I noticed that in your video, definitely a big difference. How is the new card stock holding up to shuffling and use? I definitely agree - Llewellyn is doing great stuff at the moment! I can't wait for the Modern Spellcaster's Tarot later this year. And, although I am as yet undecided on how I feel about the new cardstock, they are definitely listening to us! Borderless cards, thicker card stock, better insert for heir boxes - all stuff we've been asking for!
Oh no! I've actually just traded mine. Sounds silly, but this was the deck I tried to force myself to keep working with when I was starting to become a unwell towards the end of May. I should've just let myself take a break, because now it just makes me feel uncomfortable and yucky.. not the deck's fault, all mine, but the experience has just left a bad taste in my mouth! That is interesting about the card stock, though - has that happened with any of your other new Llewellyn decks? It'd be terrible if all their new decks do that with the new stock!
The Green Witch is the only new Llewellyn deck i have, well by new I mean that was released in the past year or so, and the only one with that cardstock... so I can't say, I wonder if that is why they changed it so fast as a couple others have said the same about that deck... I can't imagine it happening to the newer thick card stock though. I do understand your feelings about this, it is so hard to divorce ourselves and objects from a dark experience, and rid it of that energy... I have had the same with books and other objects and a deck or two.

Wait! Did they just come out with this deck in new card stock?! Man, I bought this deck a couple of months ago, i thought it the images were so beautiful but the quality of the card was so cheap. Ugh... so frustrated. Now I have to get it in better quality.
+Luna Solare What is your cardstock like? I love mine... it isn't thick but shuffles beautifully... I got it for Christmas but not sure when it was first released... sometime last year I believe. I just got the Animal Totem Tarot and the cardstock is totally different... much thicker and more cardboard like... I love both cardstocks!!
+Luna Solare wonder if it is the same as mine... Mine doesn't feel cheap... I really liked it... Lucerne new stuff too though as it reminds me of old 70's decks! If you check out my video on the Animal Totem Tarot you can see how much thicker the new card is, as I compare it with The Green Witch. I don't think it matters which site you buy from as both my decks were from Book Depository and both different card... 😪
You don't agree with "harm none" ??? ...... * gulp * i'm not gonna get you angry lol My version is "harm a little bit (like with a teaspoon to the head or slap of raw fish to the face" if people be touching my decks with their greasy mits! x
