Oh, I just absolutely loved this video Heather and Leo. This is a beautiful and peaceful cemetery. I love to visit old historic cemeteries. This is ONE of the BEST videos that you have done in WV. My second favorite is finding the grave of Mamie Thurmond. Oh, the video on the Dingess tunnel was also great. However, this particular video takes my heart back to Rt. 60 in WV. You are in one of my very favorite parts of the state which is close to Lewsiburg and White Sulphur Springs. The story of Zone Hester Shue is one of the most mysterious ones in the state. I have a collection of ghost stories of WV and all of them include the sad and tragic death of her. Zone Hester was a very pretty lady. Thank you for this awesome video. Just keep up doing the awesome research that you do Heather.

K.G.E. Knights of the Golden Eagle. The Knights of the Golden Eagle was a fraternal organization founded in Baltimore in 1872.[1] History The order's original objectives were to help its members find employment and aid them while unemployed. Membership was open to white males over 18, without physical or mental handicaps, who were able to write and support themselves, were law-abiding, of sound moral character, and of the Christian faith. There was a female auxiliary called the Ladies of the Golden Eagle.[2] In the early years of its existence the group received assistance from other secret societies and fraternal groups. The Odd Fellows helped them become established in Philadelphia in 1875 and the Knights of Pythias helped them become established in Massachusetts in 1880.[3]

Great intro!! Another wonderful tribute to those that have gone to the other side. A condition involving abnormally high levels of waste products in the blood. Uremia is a dangerous condition that occurs when the kidneys no longer filter properly. It's likely to occur when a person is in the final stage of chronic kidney disease.

Subbed. Love how you guys look up the people with such respect, and your presentation is so calm and nice but strong. Also, Diphtheria peaked in 1921. It causes swelling of the mucous membranes, including in your throat, that can obstruct breathing and swallowing. Sometimes a bacterial toxin can enter the bloodstream and cause fatal heart and nerve damage. Maybe they were misdiagnosed.

@riandraegon556
@riandraegon556 11 месяцев назад
Absolutely correct. Would have been a major lawsuit today.
@nellyshea7807
@nellyshea7807 11 месяцев назад
Let's look at it from another angle: 32 is young for a hysterectomy, especially in those times. So there must have been a good reason for that. If you look well at the word Hysterectomy it looks like the beginning was written over the word Poly. Polycystic kidney disease is a fatal kidney disease that will lead to Uremia and death. Nowadays a death certificate would say uremia caused by fill in the kidney disease that caused it in that case Polycystic kidney disease. The hysterectomy would have been the cause of the rapid deterioration of a, in itself fatal, kidney disease. It might very well have been that she suffered from polycystic disease with kidney failure, that that might even have been the reason for the hysterectomy, and the hysterectomy contributed to the kidney failure. Hence contributing factor not causal factor.

On Evie's death certificate, it looks like they started writing something that began with an R (maybe Renal failure) but wrote Hysterectomy over it. Uremia is kidney failure.
@amandacausey9450
@amandacausey9450 11 месяцев назад
Women undergoing a hysterectomy have an approximate 30% increased relative risk of subsequent kidney cancer. Additional research is needed to elucidate the biological mechanisms underlying this association. Also I was thinking it was something similar to polycystic kidney disease (some treatment for it) but either way, rest in peace to Evie

TB disease in the lungs or throat can be infectious. This means that the bacteria can spread to other people. TB in other parts of the body, such as the kidney or spine, is usually not infectious. People with TB disease are most likely to spread it to people they spend time with every day.

Could KGE with the eagle be Knights of the Golden Eagle? It was a fraternal order formed in Baltimore in 1872. That's what I found with just a quick Google search. That was interesting to me because I and my Dad's side of the family are from Baltimore. As always an interesting video. Like Heather said, a lot of TB. I was also wondering why a few of the men had paralysis as their cause of death, that seemed unusual to list as a primary cause of death. I know words sometimes had different meanings years ago. As always enjoy your videos. I'll have to look for the one on Mrs. Shue, I think it strange that her grave marker actually calls her the Greenbriar Ghost, very odd.

So many TB deaths in one place. It is highly infectious since it is such a small place they may have passed it to one another. Paralysis is a weird cause of death & there was more than one. People don't die from paralysis they probably died of something caused by paralysis. Very odd people also don't die of old age. Seeing the cause of death as pregnancy when she was murdered makes me question if other causes of death are wrong.
