Welcome Gardeners! Today is the first step in the greenhouse installation! I am installing the Triomphe Greenhouse from Canopia. A gorgeous orangery that is going to look spectacular in my back garden!! First step for installation is choosing the foundation. I decided to go with a solid perimeter concrete base, and that is what we are working on today! 🙌🏼 Enjoy!

How wonderful it is for Milo & Issac to not only be there to assist but if they didn’t already know this skill, they will now have a new skill they can carry on in their lives. So generous of your father to come help and teach this important trade. ❤

Yesterday when you announced you were getting a greenhouse, I started wondering the spot and once I saw it, immediately thought, “Well there goes the space for the swimming pool.” But hey, that greenhouse is going to look amazing!! You could always move those raised beds in front of the greenhouse and put the pool there… or maybe just reconfigure them…

I agree! The greenhouse will look beautiful there! I like it better than the pool with olive trees blocking the view of the barn, but how much do you miss the swimming pool? Your girls are young, but they'll grow up before you know it.

I had a tear in my eye after watching this with your dad! What I would have given for that chance. Your father is wonderful to help you with this project and obviously he knew what he was doing. SO AMAZING, Janey! Wow. You are so ambitious, and lucky to have the help of your Dad, Milo, and Issac to assist. They are hard workers!! I bet they never anticipated when they took the job that they would be pouring concrete!! I am so glad they wore protection when they were mixing the concrete!! It was a good call to buy that concrete mixer. We used one for many years in our yard and it came in so handy for DIY projects. Can't wait to see more!!!!

I kind of have to admit, I prefer the greenhouse over the raised pool idea. You have a large enough space that I’m sure eventually a pool will be worked in. That view is going to be amazing!

I think in earlier videos she said they would move the greenhouse when they put the pool in 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would have put the greenhouse behind her office and put a door leading from the office into the greenhouse. But that’s just me. I do like it at the back of the garden planters also.

A garden is a work in progress. There will be constant changes and different ideas. Not everything is set in stone for your initial plans. I think the greenhouse in that area is a smart move!

Thanks for sharing this you have a fantastic Father. One point would suggest being a mother of two sons the age the young men that assist with outdoor jobs is to make sure to address them as young men since they are not boys at their age just fyi. I know you don't mean any disrespect now comments calling them boys as well. Look forward to watching this process been wanting a greenhouse such a blessing this company reached out. Much success ❤

This is such great experience for not only you but the boys helping you. Being able to have mentorship as a young person helps you so much later in life and who knows, they may turn a simple summer job into a true passion.

One of the things I enjoy about your video is that although you sometimes have help you do loads of work yourself. I don’t enjoy gardening videos of people who employ people to do it & don’t get down & dirty , it just doesn’t hold my interest. You will find that having a mixer is useful for other things like mixing custom potting soil and fertilizer and poultry rations sifting compost mortar for tile and brick work. I am sure there are others but it’s a good investment.

But that was where the pool was planned! I love the greenhouse but I was looking forward to seeing how a container turned into a pool would look like! The greenhouse will be prettier! And you could do what I did, a hard sided above ground, 15 x 10 oval. $3000 a few years ago. Just a place to get wet in the hot summer months.

You hit Gold with Milo and Isaac! Lucky your Dad has the knowledge and experience he has .. I love concrete, brick, hardscape work. My Dad was a Mason and took me along (willingly) many times on his jobs. I guess I was the most tomboyish out of 5 girls😊. Have you decided against a pool for now or do you think another placement would be better? Several years ago I bought a cement mixer to create my soil to fill raised beds-similar mix to ft2 gardening & I thought I was officially a dedicated gardener but DANG girl that cement mixer is HUGE!! Don’t forget it’s a great way to mix soil/amendments, etc!! Enjoy it all!! 👩🏼‍🌾

Wow! What a woman! I haven’t even done concrete work yet! Lol and I say that lightly because I’ve had to do a lot of DIY stuff out of necessity. This is going to be epic, and you will love it!
