I guess in 2023 Costco/Greenworks decided to reduce the included battery to one 2.5ah battery, just bought this unit couple of weeks ago. This review will help determine if it's worth to keep thank you
The newer and more powerful model goes on sale in a few days at costco. It's 200 mph and 800 cubic feet per minute but comes with only one battery but it's also only $200.
Your video presentation is fantastic. You cover so many details I was specifically interested in. Nice job and thanks for doing one on this Costco Blower.
Now that is a fabulous blower for the buck. Nice that it comes with two battery packs. Great Christmas present. Just get one before the chain supply runs out. I'm glad that cone didn't damage your car. That's why I like your reviews, so we won't make the same mistake. Thanks Josh
I been keeping my eye on this unit ever since I saw this video awhile back. I just picked it up today on sale for $199 with a 4AH battery. Great in store deal. Thanks again Josh!
I have one of those, super powerful, but I had a little accident last Friday, a waist string got on the way while I was using it to dry my vehicle and the tip broke one of the internal blades of the fan. I called the company and the customer service agent sent me to a hardware store to try to find something that may fit??? I couldn’t believe what she suggested, I even said it was my fault, I will buy the part to fix myself, will see if I can get someone else to help me, so far bad customer experience. Thanks for the video Josh!!!
I got the trimmer yesterday and now I'm tempted to get the leaf blower. Aside the $60 off sale, I noticed that greenworks is providing an exclusive costco advantage, an extra 4 years (8 years total) for battery replacements! Will check out EGO products later today but the 8 year warrenty will be hard to beat
I bought the 80 volt leaf blower, lawn mower, string trimmer, chain saw and hedge trimmer. The blower is great for drying my cars and motorcycle after a wash. I’ve used them alot with zero issues. I have three batteries and can charge one in the same time I use two batteries so I always have one charged. Love my green works equipment. No oil or gas and tuneups needed.
The Kobalt 80V battery is the same except the rails. You can use the Kobalt battery with slight modification to the plastic rail. I also have their Kobalt 80V blower and EGO's most powerful one. They are similar in power. I'm so tempted to get the Greenworks blower before the sale ends tomorrow as I can use the battery interchangeable between the Kobalt and Greenworks.
Been buying Greenworks tools, got 4 2ah batteries and 1 5ah battery so far and pretty happy. Have the lawnmower, chainsaw, electric snow shovel and recently ordered the blower too. I hope they come up with a 2 stage full size snow blower as I will probably get that as well. I never even thought of using this to dry a car, great to see how well it works for that. I heard it works well for taking snow off too, I will try that out in winter.
I just bought this blower at Costco, and to tell you the truth, I'm not impressed by it, my old 110v. Toro blower is way stronger, also, the battery went dead in 15 minutes. I just might take it back.
I just purchased one and fixed the problem of the tip flying off. I drilled a little hole in it and screwed in a small button head in it. I wish I could add a picture
Just my opinion, but the ratings are high enough that you don't really need the full output. I would remove the front extension and just use the main body with the battery. I do this with my 60v DeWalt and it's perfect for drying off the cars. It takes me about 5 minutes to chase off those pesky beads. Two key items to remember, your vehicle should be waxed for best results and use hearing protection. A blower is basically useless without wax/coating.
I wouldn’t say useless. call me lazy but I still use air over towels even for non protected cars.. I will say tho it must be pretty bad for me to use towels. I have the 650 ego
@@Nintendude2013 I didn't wax my car for four years since I bought it and it was pretty bad toward the end. It takes too long without protection for me and I start having water spots. Look at the gauntlet towels from the Rag Company. They are buttery soft for paint. I don't hesitate to use them at all.
@@Nintendude2013 I have Meg's Hybrid Ceramic Wax liquid base and I apply the spray as a topper every other month. Each year I do a light polish and wax again.
I appreciate and enjoyed your review very much. I am thinking about getting ittoo. You got a great deal , new online only price is $279.99 which is still a great price. Now in November , I hope they may have a black Friday price like you got.
It looks and seems to preform Great Josh , How is noise level on it with having to tip it up by your ears ? Also maybe that tip wasn’t fully seated sure would like to use that portion of it ? I think this blower review is more real world to us than that heated blower item .
I don't know if you can make it out in this picture, but there are 4 piles of snow that come nearly to the window of the truck. We had gotten 11 inches of snow in a day and a half. Snow Joe went through it.
It would have been nice to see how long the 2.0 mah battery lasts during regular and turbo modes. Also, I'm not sure the cone coming off was a valid concern since several times you didn't lock in the battery properly.....or is that another problem with this blower, hmm?
Are you sure that this video isn't as much about (what is it, about a 1970 Ford Torpedo?). We all choose what we consider our pride and joy. If Clint Eastwood adored them, why shouldn't we? ;-) I have my concerns, however. I have found that top rated mowers, string trimmers , chain saws, etc. will last me easily 10 years or more (I have a Makita string trimmer that just finished its 24th year of service, and it still works, with a few hand built replacement parts).I also have a small 20" Briggs 3HP push mower that was made in 1979, bought new. The key to its longevity was a redesign of the air filter I created. But will these batteries last as long as the blower, AND how much will they cost to replace? You HAVE to add that to the original cost if you don't want to get burned on the backside of its life. Some municipalities already legally prohibit the use of Gas powered blowers. Our freedoms are disappearing fast, and costs for these new whiz bang gizmos seem to be escalating as fast as Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk can blast new astro-nuts beyond the wild blue yonder. Will "I mean" become an acceptable way of starting a sentence? I mean, I don't know!
i have the same blower bought it at costco comes with two 80 volt battery. it was working great till recently i am having problem with starter button. sometimes it’ll turn on and sometimes it hesitating to turn on. i have no idea what to do.
Update as of yesterday 12/8/2021 Costco has this online for $199.99 ordered yesterday evening, it appears today it sold out. Very happy I waited and got it.
These types of blowers are made for small yard not large or medium yards with tons of leaves. Tried ego 650, 180mph and it only worked for a 30 to 40 min on front half of my yard. Luckily I had 4amp battery to do the other half. Still left with tons of leaves in the back. Unless they come up with longer battery times, I am not buying them. BTW, the blower is heavy with the batteries and it will push down your hand making it painful. Gas blowers for the win.
I just got one with a lithium battery. Which is the better value, `1 lithium vs 2 Ah batteries? They were the same price at Costco, one with 2 batteries online, and one at the store with one lithium.
I just bought at Costco $220 80v 2A x 2 batteries, 8 yr warranty inc battery Up to 730 Cfm of Air Volume at 170 Mph , equivalent to 27cc gas Oddly the model at Greenworks is 33cc gas equivalent but less specs. Doesn't sound logical? Up to 500 CFM up to 125 MPH It's $200 1 battery, 4 yr warranty
Hey Josh, I pulled the trigger and picked this up from Costco in Carmel Mountain for $279. Which Costco did you see it for $229? I'm wondering if that was a misprice
I’m not sure if the size and weight of the unit would be an issue trying to dry the top of a van or lifted truck, how expensive are replacement batteries? Sometimes they cost almost as much as a new unit, I cringed when I saw the part hit your car, great review Josh 👍😁
Does it overheat when you are in turbo mode continuously? My EGO blower is great, but after about 30 seconds of being in turbo mode, it turns off to cool down.
Hi, I just purchased the same model, and I was hoping you could advise me about charging the 80v battery. Do I need to "drain" the battery before I recharge it? Or, can I recharge at any stage of usage? *Thank you so much for any feedback!* _____
You can recharge at any time. But there is proper charge method to increase longevity. Charge to 80% and not letting it drop below 20% and do a occasional full discharge and recharge. Been doing this charge method with my electric scooter and bike for 8 years.
I just ordered one of these today. I kinda wish you included how loud it is and dcb levels because I can't seem to find that info anywhere, but overall nice review.
I was considering the milwaukee mini blower since I love all their products and have several over their batteries. I'll have to look at how the stats compare
I own two Milwaukee M18 Fuel blowers--one for the front yard, one for the back. They're rated 450 CFM; the 730 CFM Greenworks blows more than 150 percent as much air. 450 is plenty for me, but my wife sometimes misses our old corded unit. I'm now into the Greenworks 60-volt platform. If one of our Milwaukees dies, I'll replace it with a 60V 700 CFM Greenworks.
Don’t sound any louder than the 60 volt system I wonder 💭 if it’s louder than my donkey they sent me one with my Greenworks lawnmower tractor 🚜 they said it was free, but we all know nothing is free the lawnmower tractor cost over $4000 dollars 💸 😢so you know the robbed me like gypsies on a midnight dirt trail. I don’t feel like a virgin anymore who know Greenworks was so slick. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
