I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ru-vid.comUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

I love my Adam's Air Cannon. Very flexible hose that self-expands to like 30'. Nozzle tip. Great CFM at almost 400. Heated. I took it off it's rollers and attached it to the bottom of the top-shelf of my detailing cart. Absolutely love it.

I recently picked up the 765 CFM Ego blower and am very pleased. I couldn’t imagine needing more power, especially with a coated car. Great battery life and performance, and best of all, it’s cordless. I love the dual purpose aspect being able to use it as a car dryer, and household work. Definitely a great investment.

I have the smaller ego blower and it works well but takes too long to dry a vehicle. Great for small areas and wheels. I have an EGO and that is the best one out of all! I modified mine to have a shorty extension and makes using it some much better! Definitely use ear protection because the EGO had my ears ringing for a tad when I was done using it really high up for the roofs of vehicles.
@chrissemsch8781
@chrissemsch8781 2 года назад
Tip: make sure that the road, driveway, garage floor or whatever your vehicle is parked on is dirt free and wet. Reason: when all this air is blowing around you will blow dust or worse(dirt) back on you freshly washed buggy. Especially make sure it’s dirt free and wet when blowing your wheels. But then again, you’ll figure that out the first time you try blowing air on your car. Bonus: for us snowy folks the air blowing method works great on your car if you got some snow on it. That way you reduce marring/swirls on the paint

I don't have a garage, so any corded dryer is out of the question for me. I've had the EGO 650 CFM unit for well over a year and it's awesome. I can dry my entire Dodge Challenger and there's still a lot of battery charge remaining. I have no need for a second battery. I just saw at Lowe's that there's a higher-powered EGO 765 CFM available that's the same price as I paid for my 650 CFM model.

Hey Pan, good review! Just to add.. My Metrovac Air Force Master Blaster is about eight years old and still going strong. The only part that I’ve needed to replace due to wear and tear was the power cord ($20.00) which bring up the point of longevity. This unit reminds me of the Electrolux vacuums cleaners of the 70’s & 80’s. Those things were built like a tank and were 100% serviceable. Same goes for the Air Force Blaster. So yes, they are expensive but they may last you 20+ years as long as parts are available. Can’t say the same about most modern appliances now a days. Seems everything is designed to last no more than 3 - 5 years then you need to go out and buy something new.

Started with a corded leaf blower but honestly, I hated it. It fit the budget at the time, but it was clunky to use , didn't move as much air as I'd like and was hard to get into tight spaces. As soon as budget allowed, I planned to upgrade. Fortunately for me, I recommended to a friend to buy the master blaster or BigBoi for their son. When he left for college and they decided to move, they donated it to me. I know am using the single motor BigBoi with the length hose. The plan is to build out a garage in the next house and at that point I will decide between the big master blaster or the dual motor BigBoi. I'm leaning toward the BigBoi because their hose is far superior, IMHO.

The EGO BLOWER is the best no cords or hoses to fumble with. I’ve been using one for several years and it’s great. I find it works best without the long shoot I take it off this way you can get much closer to the cars surface and have better control when moving it around the cars surface without bumping it and I’m only using one hand. Plus when detailing my car at shows I don’t have to worry about needing an outlet.

@StubbyNozzleCo 2 года назад
Agreed! EGO is king when it comes to electric leaf blowers but if you’re heavily invested in a particular battery platform (e.g. Milwaukee M18, Makita 18V, etc.) it makes more sense to buy the leaf blower for that brand. Just make sure the blower puts out at least 400 CFM of air. In our opinion, this is the minimum CFM needed to effectively dry a vehicle.

I purchased the Ego 650 and compared it to my Ego 530. For vehicle drying, there is little difference between the two for a ceramic coated vehicle. For other around the house needs, the 650 will give some marginal gains. I didn't see the price difference as justified for my purposes so I returned the 650.

The Ego is definitely the most versatile. I also use it to blow snow off my car (safer than snow brush). The only situation where it loses out to the Metrovac is to go in tighter spaces, since the airflow is less 'focused'. The Blowerband is definitely a life saver, but it's quite expensive for us Canadians when you factor in exchange rate and shipping, it's 50$ for a piece of rubber.

Thank you for this and all your reviews. I've been using a Metrovac Air Force Blaster Sidekick and Ryobi 300cfm, 40v blower and they just weren't enough for drying a whole vehicle quickly. I learned Ryobi has a new 730cfm, 40v "Whisper Quiet" blower which is currently priced at the orange big-box home improvement center for $299 USD. It comes with two 40v 4ah lithium ion batteries, rapid charger, and two (replaceable) rubber tips. Ran out and picked one up. It's exactly what I needed to up the drying game. Tip: If you are US military or veteran, you can get 10% off the purchase price.

I have the 40-volt 600 CFM RYOBI which is probably the most quiet blower you can buy at 55 Decibels. I bought this model specifically because Ryobi's other Whisper series run at 2 or 4 decibels higher. I also have the quietest gas-powered blower, the discontinued Husqvarna 356BTX 177 mph 766 CFM at 64 decibels.

Robby C. Hi Pan: I plan on purchasing the Ego 765 . Is there any benefit to using a drying agent with a blower? I will be getting a new C8 in a few weeks and I am not sure on paint protection at this time. I'm considering a stand alone graphene over ceramic/graphene coating, not sure if I want to risk problems doing the coatings. Looking forward to your suggestions.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 2 года назад
You wouldn't use a drying aid while you are blow drying the car. It doesn't work that way. You would blow dry the car, and then you finish with a drying aid and microfiber towel to pick up any residual water and boost gloss/slickness. The blower is simply there to dry 95% of the car super quickly. The last 5% is where you towel dry for a perfect result.

My Stihl leaf blower works outstanding. I put a soft nose on it so it won't scratch. Dries the vehicles, cleans the patio, cleans the 300 foot driveway, cleans the garage and cleans the sidewalks all for half the price and the battery also works in the Stihl chain saw.

Thanks Pan; Great video as always. TWO QUESTIONS: 1) Why do you have two powered blowers? 2) I noticed in the videos that you are wearing ear protection while drying. I've noticed my EGO makes a lot of high pitched noise and when I'm drying the roof, it's right by my ears. Can you comment on what you use and why? Perhaps your next video could be personal protection recommendations? (Ear, gloves, clothing, etc).
@PanTheOrganizer

I always try to use ear protection regardless of which blower I use. They are very loud. I spoke about personal protection equipment in a recent video on the top 20 detailing mistakes to avoid. Pan, Thank you for another great video. I have the EGO Blower and almost all of their other pieces of equipment and I love every one of them. The Blower seemed to pull the most power even over my lawnmover. I agree you only get about 10 minutes with one battery UNTIL one day by accident I hit the release on the battery, it disconnected and I reconnected it. I had another 10 minutes. I am able to do this up to 3-4 times on a single charge battery. I watched videos of people tearing them down for repairs and there is a microboard inside. The batteries are highly protected against heat with shutdown settings that cannot be changed. They are designed apparently to show the charge is lower than it is so you don't overheat them running them. However, I am able to disconnect and reconnect the same battery and actually use the machine multiple times without having to charge it. My batteries also never got hot doing this. As much as I love EGO, I think they set these up to have people purchase more batteries even though they didn't need them. Also by having the settings like this, all of your batteries last longer because they aren't completely discharging. If you can, the next time you use your EGO blower and the battery depletes, disconnect and reconnect it and see if the blower works again. I've been doing this for 3 years now. Best of luck to you as always.
@PanTheOrganizer

The 40 volt blower from worx (canadian tire or amazon $300 to $350 can, or bare tool if you have batteries from other tools for $199) works pretty good for me. When buying a consumer grade blower miles per hour are more important than cfm for car drying. I should say worked however as the switch no longer seems to be working, will be testing out their 5 year warranty. This also has a battery charge meter. Another plus side is the batteries are usable in other worx devices such as trimmers etc. Canadian tire specs rates it at 164 miles per hour air speed. There is also a 20 volt 130 miles per hour version sub $200 but I don't know how effective or long lasting one 20 volt battery will be. The 40 volt drys my car off with still plenty of juice, when it worked LOL.

I bought the EGO 530 after seeing your first video. I do a quick micro-fiber towel dry and then go with the EGO. That seems to work better than trying to dry the entire car with the EGO. I live in a house, so I have other uses for the EGO.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 2 года назад
Really? Do you have some sort of paint protection on the paint? Wax, sealant or coating? If yes, it should be way quicker with a blower. For me, I can't even compare the speed of my blower vs towel drying... But then again, I had the 580 CFM before, and now have the 650 CFM plus the two most powerful corded blowers on the market, so they do generate lots more air flow and power. Perhaps the 530 is underpowered for the task?
