Every debate this backup Undisputed set had was underrated 1.Everyone contributed insightful thoughts without being interrupted 2.Lots of different topics that they covered on todays show 3. Overall the setup was very professional
They been competent... shrewd Lynch got the QBs of the Bears well the backups... Cutler retired so worse than Mia and most but Cle. They proceeded to lose badly only beating NYG, Chi, Hou... "playoff" team who blew that to SF mercifully. They're not a playoff team baring some FA signings. They play in NFC not AFC where a team like Bills or Titans can sneak in. I'm a 49er fan I got mad hate when said they go 4-12 in 2017 (double wins in 2016 smh) fans calling them a playoff team. Why they got 6-10 non-playoff team? Rams, Sea division maybe a retooled AZ. Min + GB take two playoff spots leaving 1 that Det can fill. Phi/Dal can take the other spot. And the best division in football NO/Car/ATL inside track for the other wild card maybe two like this year. Explain to me why 8-8 not a ceiling? A 6-10 record is most likely unless they get upgrades across offensive side and some DBs. Love the optimism but been fan since 98' so seen everything go wrong finally reached acceptance that their better losing 2 more seasons stock up on some legit talent & when Brady, Brees are about done dominate.
yeh the Falcons calls on offence in the 4th quarter at the super bowl looked shady af! A team whose offense led the league in points scored in 2016 doesn't just give away that many points in the 4th! 0-19 in the 4th????
Agreed. Rigged game. People were turning off the Superbowl at half time and the NFL needed to make sure it had high ratings. They likely called up the Falcons and told them to dial it back a notch.
ACR you are a complete and total idiot to think that the NFL called the Falcons and told them to knock it down a notch really no team is going to knock it down a notch when they're about to win the Super Bowl not going to happen the NFL is not rigged the thing is Bella check in the coaches of the New England Patriots changed up the game plan and Brady just taught it up when they did that just giving credit where credit is due Brady is the goat Belichick is a goat of coaches New England Patriots Super Bowl champions again live with it all you haters
In my opinion, I️ think it shows Belicheck probs gonna stop coaching the pats when Brady retires b/c if he wanted to continue coaching he probs would’ve kept Garopolo. I️ think belicheck wants to end his coaching with Brady. This is my opinion though
no belicheck wanted to keep jimmyG but brady is closer with the owner robert kraft than belicheck with the owner so kraft stick with brady instead of garappolo
It's easier to say now "Keep Garapolo, trade Brady."" Especially after Brady's performance in Miami a few weeks ago. But it was harder for the Patriots to sign Jimmy long term and let Tom go bc they didn't know Jimmy G would play THIS well.... It's good for the NFL to have Jimmy lifting up the Niners. The Patriots can still sustain greatness with a new QB in this year's draft. I will love seeing how Brady handles it if NE trades up and gets a big name QB prospect.
Len Bias and Reggie Lewis happened to the Celtics. If Len hadn't OD'ed and Reggie not died cause of the heart issue, it would have stretched their careers and probably stopped the Pistons one of those 3 years.
Thats what I was saying, the Celtics had a dynasty in the waiting and most people don't realize that. Those deaths are what set us back for many years not because of bad management or anything like that.
Nope. All NE insiders say that Bill takes it year by year. He has no intentions to retire any time soon. Let's say that Brady suffers a career ending injury this weekend. There's no way Belichick says, _"That's it! I'm done,"_ at the end of the season. He doesn't think like that. *He has never made decisions based upon narratives, storybook scenarios, or based upon what other people would like to see.*
I Think one of the worst things a organization can do is turn their back on certain players that are the core of your team for so long. We have seen this before but none has ever had 5 championships. Sometimes you need to sacrifice the winning In order to appease the fans and the player. Loyalty goes a long ways. It's a business but some of it should still be respected. Fans are the ones that buy the tickets and the merchandise. Cutting a player that has given five titles to a city can affect that. Anyways you can't cut him now, you have no one to take his place. So now just draft and keep him under Brady for the next two years. Brady has earned his right for him to make the decision when to leave.
I'm not a Pats fans, I'm a Dolphins fan. Cutting Brady when he can still play is stupid, trading Jimmy G and getting a top 35 pick is brilliant. You trade a 27 year old unproven QB, you then trade your 1st and 3rd for a QB who will be able available in the 20's because someone always is especially with this years crop of QBs, Josh Allen,Mason Rudolph, Lamar Jackson,Baker Mayfield is bound to be available. You get a much younger QB,you get a extra fifth year option, and more importantly,Brady gets 1 more year. Plus still got that Browns pick in the mid 30's to address another need or trade both 2nds into the 1st.
As a 9er fan I truly am grateful for B.Belicheck, R.Kraft and TB12 for this trade. WIth JG here our future for the long term is set; With that said on a hypothetical note if JG actually stayed in NE after Brady retires, that's easily *ATLEAST* another 3-4 trophies in the next decade. As a thank you for the Patriots, I'll be rooting for you guys in your entire playoff run this year! Get that #6!
When will these experts learn that Bill and Co. do not care what happens 7-8 years down the line. They riding out Brady, Bill retires with him and coaching staff separate for better jobs. Finish with 6-8 SB in 20 years and you have yourself one of the greatest dynasties ever.
Russ B. They knew he'd either be expensive to keep or sign elsewhere. It makes sense for them to get a high draft pick for him and find someone else to groom for a couple years.
Ramisi Gomes bruh our official fanbase Twitter account is Niner Nation and I have a shirt that was given to me when I went to Levi stadium this season that straight up says Niner Nation tf is you talking about haha
Victor Contreras Don't have Twitter and haven't been to the new stadium in Santa Clara yet. I used to go to candlestick all the time growing up in the City and the only "Nation" I knew of was Raider Nation so pardon me for being original lol
Ramisi Gomes I’m not saying Niner Empire isn’t a thing but Raiders and Niners are like 15 minutes from each other in the Bay Area so the “Nation” thing has always been what we all say regardless of us being old rivals.
lets just acknowledge that greg jennings was President of the American Parliamentary Debate Association his junior year. WE NEED this guy to be on the show permanently
I've been called a fake fan among other things for saying the Patriots should've kept Jimmy Garoppolo and then respectfully release or trade Brady to the team of his choice in the off-season. But nope they let the ball drop on this one because all they got were a second round pick for Jimmy.
Parker is actually just a hater. Fake MVP? What if they didn't win the Super Bowl? They did old man, and he is the MVP. Sure injuries took a role in the season, but he was in that discussion regardless. Somebody fire this man he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Shut up man. Watson and Rodgers never got a chance to really get going and they were both ahead of Brady early in the season. Wentz was easily neck and neck with him until his injury. That's what Rob meant
Brady has had the Best numbers and still does. Wentz let a 40 year old grandpa beat him in every passing stat except TD's. Why are scrubs even allowed on RU-vid in the first place? LOL
Man all these talk's it wasn't not a mistake they blessed us why can't people just except that sometimes people do kind for other people. Thank you patriots
It’s all a master plan. Bill and Jimmy had a long talk. Bill told Jimmy we’re gonna trade you to the 49ers so you can get some playing time under your belt. But, he’s gonna walk on the 49ers and sign back with the Pats next year since he has that option.
I've been a Brady follower since his first Super Bowl , but trading JG was insane , this is NFL never fall in love with an individual . I am happy for JG to go to the Niners , but I am very disgusted with my Patriots trading him . Hopefully the Patriots have something under the sleeve , because the following years we won't be celebrating greatness. Once thing for sure I will be routing for my boy JG , as well as for my Patriots .
Patriots fans get so hurt when someone doesn't worship their god Tom Brady! Rob Parker is an entertaining guy, he doesn't have to be a Patriots boot licker! He made a good point with Montana being replaced by Steve Young! Right or wrong there is some validity to the argument that you keep the younger guy who can lead your team for 10+ years!
I think what they missed is that if the pats draft a qb this year they could groom him through bradys final 2-3 years and be ready once brady retires. That's way cheaper than keeping jimmy and it prevents all the drama surrounding the situation.
So..? Just because you got rings as a backup doesn’t mean you’re better. David Carr got a ring sitting behind Eli and he was a bust. Does that mean he is better than Marino?
they couldnt pay janine garapalo this year, and they definitely couldnt cut the greatest comeback in superbowl history right after he won it in order to pay janine garapolo
Niners fan here but the pats didn’t really “lose” this deal. You can’t franchise him and keep two qbs for that much money on the same roster. They held him until the last second as injury insurance for Brady. They didn’t have any other choice. They got what, for them, basically amounts to another first rounder. It’s a huge steal for us, but not necessarily a huge L for the pats
one thing thats bugging me about what there saying is they are talking about JG like he was already a franchise QB. I think JG is a franchise QB and I'm a 49ers fan so I'm super excited, i think he could be the best in the league! BUT its way easier to see now after he's won 3 straight games with are 1-10 team plus his resume from New England that he's a star.. its not like the patriots new that! I'm sure they thought he looked really good but they were probably still unsure .. Im the biggest niners fan but even if i was a patriots i would of rolled with tom brady at that point in time.. NOW obviously its easy to say that was a bad choice because garapolo is the future!
I’m a 49ers fan so it obviously was a good trade for us but it wasn’t necessarily a bad trade for the Patriots, they had to keep in the win now mode, Patriots have won 2 out of the last 3 Super Bowls and 5 titles with Brady and Belichick. Patriots couldn’t afford to re-sign Jimmy G for starter money without hurting the rest of their roster. Gotta go all in when you have such a good team and pats shouldn’t regret anything with all the titles they have
As much as I love Undisputed. LeShannon clowning on Skip about the dallas loss was epic. today. Where is that video? I watched a taped replay on another youtube channel. even when the image is small it's better than non existant?. Why is this video from 3 days ago the latest on this OFFICIAL undisputed site. Someone is not on the ball ........
The situations with those other teams who let legendary QBs go just aren't the same. Brady is Top 2 in MVP voting in the league and hasn't had a significant injury in 9 years. His team are the defending champs and currently the #1 seed in the conference. Meanwhile Garoppolo did suffer a serious injury within his last 5 games, nevermind years. If you let the league MVP walk while you're in Super Bowl contention so you could play a younger, unproven player and he gets injured, you'd look like the biggest fools in the history of the league.
Should’ve franchise tagged him after this season and then signed him to a deal after that. I really don’t know why they trade him and not get at least a first round pick
The brotha in the middle is the only one that makes sense. Exactly! You can't franchise tag a backup QB. The Pats don't even have the money to do so. The other brothas are lost. The Pats couldn't keep both Brady and Jimmy.
And the brotha in middle said one thing....Jimmy is no Brady...and they all agreed. Yet the other two keep insinuating that the Pats should have kept both QBs even though there is no money to do so. Amazing how some "analysts" are putting so much weight on Jimmy after only a half dozen starts, and no actual money to do so. Silly.
Jimmy G was hitting free agency, Brady has 2-3 years left - it's impossible to pay 20M a year for a back up QB and expect to have a championship roster. The 49ers got more out of the trade but the Pats didn't lose the trade. They waited a bit too long to trade him tho because they wanted to see if Brady still has it (which he has).
I'm with Chris Broussard on this. Yes, obviously the perhaps more logical move for your future is to trade Brady at 40 years old and move onto a talented Garoppolo. But realistically, when are you supposed to cut him? You couldn't have cut him this past summer after a SUPER BOWL MVP WINNING SEASON, and this year it seems like he's probably gonna win MVP and has a good chance of winning the Super Bowl too, so you probably can't really trade him after this year either. Then it comes time to offer Jimmy G a new contract, so what do you do?
They don't talk about the salary cap. Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent after this season, and the Patriots don't want to pay the money that he can earn on the open market. (The 49ers might not even be able to sign him, if the bidding gets too high.) If the Pats find somebody young this offseason, and help him develop for the next couple of years, the timing might be right for him to take over upon Brady's retirement. The trade looks like a win-win.
The mistake was trading Jacoby to make cap room for Jimmy, they wanted to keep Jimmy for another year and then make the decision, you can’t trade the number 1 QB , all the other examples of great QBs had a drop off in performance/health.
First we won the draft of acquire foster and thomas then we won the trade of getting Garoppolo from the patriots john lynch is the man. But gonna thanks to belichick and the front office to have jimmy g and as long if he doesn't take hits I still believe tom brady can still play at this level in his 40 yrs.
