I keep hearing the following from the 49ers that Jimmy is still learning the team's complex system and the offense is not good enough. What folks fail to realize : 1. it has been over 3 weeks since he has been added to the team, from rep in training to watching games, how much more is there to be learnt, 2 Jimmy kept the patriots ship afloat while Brady was suspended and the team won a Superbowl last year 3. Unless he gives him a chance to play(given the fact that he will be a free agent at the end of the season), there is no way of telling whether are not he will fit into the system and 4. the excuse that the offense is not good enough is a poor one. Give him a chance and make the work with what he has and make the adjustment.

Not a bad trade for either, Patriots get something on a QB that was going into free agency, 49ers give up an unneeded draft pick (remember we still have a rd 2 pick) for a franchise QB. Also, 49ers will be able to focus their attentions on other much needed positions. Maybe get that badass RB from Penn to replace Hyde.

The fact that the Pats tried very hard to keep him says it all. 49ers called them in the offseason and they were shut down instantly...When there was no way Jimmy G. was going to resign, they finally opted to get something in return for him. I think my 49ers came out with a huge trade, he is only 26, spent 4 years under the best QB since Montana and has looked really good in his 2 starts. If the 49ers can use some cap to fix that line and draft a play making WR or Barkley, they will be 1 year away from being a contender. They were nearly 5-3 with Hoyer...

Max Kellerman put it the wrong way. Bellichek thought he already had a good enough team and so he was building for the future while simultaneously maintaining what he probably thought was a super-team. However, after struggling more than he thought, he determined it was best to acquire another asset by trading Jimmy Garoppolo. He's going to trade that 2nd-round pick to acquire a player to help him in his run. The reason why he didn't trade him before was cause he thought he didn't need to get more players to help win another title. He thought he had enough to dominate the NFL. It has nothing to do with having an insurance policy for Brady.

At this point, at least for Jimmy his trade was wonderful. 137.5M with the amont of games he has is great!

As a fan of First Take, I've noticed ALL the changes. They have the Final Take at the end. They used to have My Take but they stopped showing that for some reason. They have Quick Takes now. Then there's this moment between the 1st hour and 2nd hour where Molly asks the crew what's in store for the next hour which I find HIGHLY irrelevant to do. And now there's this wierd transition sometimes where there will be a Sports Center situation room where some reporter gives a developing story, and then it transitions back into First Take, I hate those SC moments. It takes time away from watching First Take. And all of this happened after Skip Bayless was fired from the show. All of these changes were predetermined before Skip left, they knew how they wanted to change the show and that Skip would not be a good fit. I miss Skip Bayless and the show used to be just about debate, after debate, after debate, after......but now its not. They add dumb "cute" crap in between which makes the show seem more "hip" but it is just annoying.

Older players are more likely to get hurt. Jimmy got hurt in 1 1/2 games. Of course they are more likely to get hurt, but there are also fragile players like Bradford, Romo, Bridgewater, etc. Theres also players that choke in the big games, you all know those. Either way it's a risk, but they couldn't keep both, so getting a 2nd is worth trading, Especially if BB doesn't think JG can actually win a SB with this years Pats.

These two geniuses missed what went on entirely regarding the Garoppolo trade. . Belichick was told by owner Bob Kraft not to trade his 5th son Brady and to trade Garoppolo. Simple as that. Belichick had to eat humble pie as he wanted to trade Brady and develop Garoppolo into the star that he is destined to be. Kraft wanted Brady to retire as a Patriot and by so doing would be more valuable to Kraft and the Patriots post career.
