That's got to be one of the best tele sounds I have ever heard...

greg is the epitome of "playing" the guitar....he's a great technician, but he plays with joy and a sense of humor. Anything that rocks me and makes me laugh at the same time is alright with me!

Lots of players can play millions of notes, but Greg has got to also be one of the most entertaining guitarists on the planet.......and the special fluid with which he assembles those notes is ......just beyond ! way beyond .

Greg makes me want to either give up, or practice more...depends on my mood. Ha ha.

This guy is unique, like his style of playing guitar and with chicken picking, bells and whistles. He just made me a fan, rock on.

Imagine a band with Greg Koch on guitar, Les Claypool on bass, and Steve Moore on drums. How insanely entertaining would that be?!

Every time is hear a diff version of this song, I just have to smile non stop. Greg is like Frank Zappa, just pure joy to listen to no matter he does.

Ohhhhh my face is hurting from smiling. Mr Koch, you are truly amazing and thank you for your existence.

I love seeing musicians like this who can be PHENOMENAL performers but also silly and down to earth.

Greg is GREAT. A really humble guy. He knows that he is not in the "A list" of guitar gods. If he looked more like a rocker or dressed differently, then maybe. He's been at this for a long time and knows everyone. Yet, remains good-humored and humble. Long life to you good sir!

I like the way he adds the Heartbraker riff in. One of my faveourite guitarsts.

I always loved Greg's columns in guitar magazines. He's as hysterical in print as he is on stage.

Man, this brought the music back to life for me. I mean, this is stuff I've heard forever, known how to play forever, but this is like a wake up to the beauty of the music. What amazing playing.

I saw Greg do a demo for Fender, and he was just incredible. Did a cover of "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" that was smokin' His sense of humor is waht does it for me. He can play just about anything, but it's the cracks and jokes that do it (I highly recommend his instuctional videos). "Good clean fun"!!!!

Well I did just got my face melted into a puddle of pure extacy! For the first tyme ever seeing Greg play was more than a treat.He was jammin' with Southbound at Shank Hall!! They played nothing but almost every ABB song!! They played the entire Brothers & Sisters album.I got to meet him and I am now a fan forever!!!

Interesting factoid: The Stairway to Heaven solo was recorded on a tele not a les paul as you might suspect from Page.

Great post. Greg is a pure guitar player. And he oozes talent. So much that he can have fun and make you left while playing perfection. One of my favorites.And he's a great showman.

Greg combines a MASSIVE legacy ken, with a brutal populist 'IM SO DAMNED GOOD!" delivery, somehow coupled with that "i am SO hip and yet nothing-here--you-cant-do-if-you-WORK-at-it" approach... WHAT a treat delivery.... DAMN!!!!

Greg is absolutely from another planet. He is incomparable. He seems like he's a hilarious guy to hang out with too!

I remember 5years ago when listening greg first time kicking distortion in to that tele. Man it took me only few weeks to recieve one from england. Happy ever after it.

Amazing !!!!this guy is a freak ,and man can he play.

He's using a Fender B-bender Tele. There's a buncha springs and levers from the strap button to the b string, and wen he yanks on the strap, the b string is stretched.

If you really like his playing, then you need to check out all of his "wildwood Guitar" reviews....this guy is seriously unreal...his playing is AWESOME!!

Don't forget "Heartbreaker" at 2:17..another Zep "Oh by the way" thrown in there to tickle your ears...This guy shreds Danny Gatton and is closer to Junior Brown and SRV and Jimmy Reed...can you feel that telecasters wood ringing??? Most awesome performance!!

My all round favourite player. Almost no genre is beyond him. The only player I know who can do comedy on the guitar. Plus he has been married for ever and has 4 kids as well. Great take on the led zep stuff.

Eventhough Jimmy adapted and made it completely his own, the original is by Jake Holmes. He saw Jake play it in a club once and Jimmy changed some of the lyrics and riffs. He never asked Jake for permission but Jake has said he never had a problem with it.

Guy shows more versatility in 10 minutes than some "greats" show in thier entire life. Why he isn't more well known is a mystery to me. Guy has lots of talent and skill and style to boot.

He's got a couple of tricks in there, one is very clever use of a slap delay, makes you sound like your double picking a note, and then there's the b bender, ( notice the back of the bridge). awesome sick playing
