Brutus Beefcake suffered some terrible luck before the Summerslam Pay Per Views. The Barber would miss out on two massive paydays and nearly lost his own life in the process.
Hammer talks about how his old tag team partner Brutus Beefcake was allegedly scheduled to win the Intercontintel Champtionship from the Honky Tonk Man at Summerslam 1988.
The Ultimate Warrior was moved into the spot instead, defeating HTM in record time. Then at Summerslam 1990, rumor has it that Beefcake was penciled in to win the gold from then-champion Mr Perfect Curt Hennig.
Plans fell through however when Brutus nearly lost his face in a horrific parasailing accident. The Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich took Brutus' spot and ended up winning the Championship as well.
Valentine says that if it wasn't for Hulk Hogan there's no telling if Brutus would even have survived the accident.
