Grenzo has been reprinted in Time Spiral Remastered, so Peter has tried his hand at the powerhouse of an engine that Grenzo offers. His goal is to combo off through repeated bottom deck manipulation and get his entire library onto the battlefield (and on a budget, too!)

Scrying is already good, but a Grenzo deck benefits from it doubly! You send creatures to the dungeon so Grenzo can bring them back later for cheap. And, you keep your hand full of spells and artifacts. Sometimes it´s fun to gamble with Grenzo for whatever you get.

I recently build a grenzo deck and a few cards that I found were really cool are Herald of leshrac and fires of invention the latter does not really work with blasphemous act and the Cauldron but it enables some sweet grenzo activations. Also if you by accident put the Cauldron or another great artefact in your graveyard myr retriever and especially buried ruin do really help getting that combo win.

One of my favorite things about Grenzo is you can build him as any power range going from a 2/2 all the way up to a 10/10 if it fits your fancy.

The concept on mine is 49 creatures power 2 or less (except Zealous for Doomsday combo). So fun. I'm always casting Grenzo as 2/2 then. In this concept I would like to mention Mastron Stromgald as a blasting win condition. Other fun impactfull creatures are Balthor the Defiled and Sadistic Hypnotist. Not to mention those 3 are old frame 💖

Another combo- Cards needed (4)- Grenzo, Cauldron of Eternity, Ashnods Altar & EITHER Zulaport Cutthroat or Murderous Redcap How it works: 1. Sacrifice redcap or cutthroat to Ashnod’s altar. (creating 2 colorless mana) 2. Use Cauldrons permanent ability (send the creature to the bottom of the library) 3. Use Grenzo’s ability to bring it back (spend the colorless mana from the altar, pull from bottom) 4. Bring creature back, dealing damage to player(s) per creature ability Then it just loops and (theoretically) kills everyone

It wouldn't necessarily be a budget deck, but I think that a Relentless Rats build with Thrumming Stone would be a good Grenzo deck. I like the Thrumming Stone in particular because it would allow you to stack the bottom of the library

Ok so I love this deck... but at the same time im still so new to magic im not 100% how this works lol

Glad you like it! There’s no shame in not understanding it; I’m actually relatively new to magic and learn new things about it all the time. The important thing with this deck is that Grenzo really cares about the bottom of the library, so getting what you want on the bottom of your library is really important and that’s why there’s a lot of support for it. The combo lines mainly revolve around moving a mana generating creature from the bottom of your library, to the battlefield, and back to the bottom of the library while gaining mana in the process.
