Hey friends! So if you've noticed, I've been actively changing my approach to building decks. For a while now, I aimed to make optimized lists, using all the fetches possible or the best tutors, or the staples that every deck should run. It honestly was ruining my fun of deckbuilding. I was sick of seeing the same cards in every one of my decks, and I can imagine some of you shared that sentiment. So I've made the conscious choice to build decks to be more fun and flavorful to the themes to which I build them to. If you want to add some different cards to your build to power it up, by all means, do so! Let's have some fun!
I like this new approach better. I already know all the best staples to throw into a deck and even if I don't, they're on EDHREC. I like seeing flavor wins or pet cards that I might not have ever seen before. Awesome video.
It is worth noting that Experimental Confectioner and Peregrin Took can infinitely draw the deck together and create 1/1 rats. Peregrin Took lets you sacrifice 3 foods to draw a card, each food sacrifice will individually be seen by Experimental Confectioner and make a rat token, each time the rat token is created, Peregrin Took will replace it with a rat and a food netting 3 foods and 3 rats, those three foods can then be sacrificed to Peregrin Took to draw another card and repeat.
Alot of budget cuts can be made to the manabase (Urborg is pretty expensive and did contribute alot), and if you want to swap out the Chatterfang/Pitiless Plunderer combo, it'll shave off quite a few bucks. Alot of the core cards of this deck are rather cheap, I should probably revisit this for a budget-friendly version.
