I am 56 and I woke up for work this morning with the highway song buzzing in my head from the night before, funny how music can do that, I think the most notable trait of these young guys and their music is their ability to rekindle a long dwindled adrenal rush music used to give me. Consider I lived through the British invasion and listened to the birth and development of the biggest bands ever to blaze trails into all our lives. What is cool is that Led Zeppelin rose to fame at a time when the world was ready for them and they were not hindered with familiarity and saturation of the genera they would eventually posses , in other words they were not hindered by some of the hurdles GVF has had to overcome , all this music has been done before and done to death for decades , the fact that these guys are catching on so quickly despite that, is testament to just how talented they are , the cohesiveness of their sound the lyrics melodies tempo timing beat inflections and blazing stunningly unique vocals by Josh are what make GVF able to bulldoze through a jaded audience deadened by decades of musical mediocrity and ignite the excitement in people garnishing reactions such as the ones on this blog, to simply say as some have that GVF is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and that is their appeal is crushingly marginalizing , my God listen to the acoustic version of Black Smoke Rising, Edge of Darkness OMG these are genuinely masterful songwriters singers and musicians. These guys are on fire and I can’t wait to hear what comes next. I still remember how it felt when I got my first Zeppelin, Stones , Floyd LP and so many other monster talents, the only reason I can remember , and I am being completely sincere in saying this , is that after listening to this entire track , for the first time in decades I felt it again I want to have all my friends over and crank this cool new album buy this new band Greta Van Fleet in its unstoppable infancy and we will all play air guitar and get buzzed laugh and not give a fuck about anything because the music is doing the talking and pulled us all out of our heads to let us live in the moment, that's some serious spiritual currency . Peace Everybody,,,,,, Darren.
Oh well I'm 16 so I'm constantly looking for bands like these. You should check out Dirty Honey, The Lemon Twigs, BlackBerry Smoke, Jackyl, Black Coffee, Foxy Shazam, The Marcus King Band, Jet, Rival Sons and The Struts, they're all pretty good new bands
@@NMAfreak the coolest part about GVF is that they're young, just like lots of other people so its easier for young people to like them. i'm literally 14 and im absolutely a huge fan of them. and i agree, music has reached a new low. but GVF is just for us people who like ACTUAL music. GVF is saving music.
Every song is different. SOOOOOO much talent. Their groove is left, it's right, it's up, it's down. Dayum! This is my band between now and Evermore. ;)
I been telling all these musical no nothings that all they need to do is LET THEM GROW, FIND THEIR SHIT AND ENJOY , DOES NOT COME AROUND THAT OFTEN SO LET IT HAPPEN. JT FROM. MEX
It's basically confirmed on the debut album. In "Rig Run Down" when Jake was showing his guitar and stuff he said "this guitar" (referring to the one in this video) will be used for "sliding" on a certain song that will most likely be on the new album he said.
Confirmed on the track listing for their new album coming out October 19th. Anthem Of The Peaceful Army Tracklist: 1. Age Of Man 2. The Cold Wind 3. When The Curtain Falls 4. Watching Over 5. Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer) 6. You're The One 7. The New Day 8. Mountain Of The Sun 9. Brave New World 10. Anthem Hopefully this helps!

I’m guessing the Zep comparisons haven’t heard their pocketbooks any.Its a huge year for these guys you can’t stop them. Its coming Wether you like it or not. They fucking rawk right.🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I have a feeling this band watched the Song remains the same movie about a thousand times or maybe a million times and you know what I think they got it right,,,,rock on.
This version is so much better than the album version (sorry to say) The drumming is also so much better on the this live version than the album version.
Right on Mark Hollinger. My father turned me on to Led Zeppelin in 1970; I listened to Led Zeppelin III every day before school in 7th grade; and they've been my fav band ever since. And I too love Greta Van Fleet - powerful, talented, and they're having fun!
Yo Brad they are the best band today and if they keep going in the right direction they may come close 2 Zeppelin I was very fortunate to see Zeppelin live I at MSG 77 I've been to a hundred concerts and none of them beat Zeppelin have a great night
Joseph Taverna The comparisons are getting tiresome. They used LZ as a starting point to build on and go further into their own thing. Josh does not sound like Plant. If anything he sounds a little like Geddy Lee but still different. They are still young and Talented and I’d let them grow further. Many of their songs don’t sound like Zep at all. So I’m impressed with what they’ve done so far. At least they play and write their way songs.
I was there last September, could hardly see shit ! I went here, there, and checked everywhere. The rave needs to heighten their basement stage ! What an honor to have seen (heard) these guys live though .
im an old zep fan, seen em live and I love these guys, the others will come round, plant is a nice guy and will be supportive so heads up and keep on rocking, us girls need an orgasmatronic wailer in our lives and plant just can't do it any more, that and he's into country and western these days, after 30 years we have waited long enough :)
Jo Hickey YYYYAAAAAASSSSSS!!!! I highly recommend checking out Pellek (his cover of wrecking ball is unreal) & Dirty Honey/Ground zero/Marc LaBelle - "black dog cover by ground zero" should pull up their OG music as well!!!! Rock on babe!!💗💗💗
Im from Milwaukee and the Rave is one of the smaller intimate clubs there. It’s great to see they were welcomed so warmly! We know good music and great RNR when we see it! This is well done and I hope the whole show was recorded and is available soon cause I’d like to see it! Rock On Dudes! Thanks to whoever posted this!
Can't wait to see them when they play House of Blues Houston, Tx. Was big Zeplin fan and I have heard Robert Plant approves of GVF and like myself think they have a great career again! I mean they have sold out every venue they play!
I don't know who owns the right to their early recordings, But I definitely would be interested in purchasing some. Modern tech with free sharing kills groups trying to make it with out mega studios behind them.
The struts for example, i think they can do alot more but some people say that studio make them change their sound and band doesn't have the final say on the sound of album
