Sara Ramirez (Dr. Callie Torrez from Grey's Anatomy) performing the song "The Story", originally by Brandi Carlile, for the Grey's Anatomy musical episode.
everyone thinks this episode was stupid because no one anymore understands musicals. this episode was iconic and I think more shows need to do this. brilliant and jaw dropping vocals from all the cast. I get chills from this episode every damn time.
Jaw dropping vocals from Kevin McKidd? Sorry no, even with autotune it was poor. He is a great actor but my god he can't sing. Sara clearly outclassed everyone else, only Chyler Leigh and Chandra Wilson came close.
People say the original has more emotion into this, but I honestly think this version has more passion. I don't know, maybe I'm biased because I like Sara Ramirez and this is my personal original, as in I heard this one first. Maybe. In my opinion, this is the best version.
What really gets me in tears is in the episode she sang the song to herself. It really hit home that even though she has all these amazing people in her life, even though she had people by her side begging her to wake up, in the end, she came back for herself. She found the strength and love she needed from herself. It was so powerful.
The vocals and emotion in this song on this episode made me cry, and I never cry in movies or shows. Grey's has successfully made me cry at least four times over the years, excellent writing, acting, and now singing :)
Grey's Anatomy has made a real deal : a musical episode, and they made it into perfection ! Well, Grey's Anatomy IS the perfection. Little Grey & McSteamy.
"no... im..not*sniffles* crying. i know she wakes up....Shut up! don't judge me! its her amazing, powerful voice and the song and the... its not stupid, I can cry" This episode tho...
She is BEAUTIFUL inside and out and whoever says otherwise don't really know her, are total Idiots and wish they had half the talent she has!!! Those ppl should just get a life!...... SHE'S UNBELIEVABLY BEYOND AMAZING!!!!
Every time I listen to this song I can't keep myself from crying it's just so beautiful and powerful it just strikes my very core. Such a strong and awesome voice, such a power series, so many lessons.
I def like Sara's version better. I've heard it a million times and I still get chills every time I hear it. Shes a great singer. I love how high she gets in some of the notes. Go Sara! We love you!
Couldn't believe someone from a tv show could produce sound like that, easilly better than the original and even with no video it still brings me to tears. Best episode ever. Best vocal performance ever. : )
I don't watch Grey's Anatomy - I don't hate it, I just don't let myself get into those kind of dramas, but I will say they have some awesome music. I'm constantly stumbling across songs that were on it.
+Mary Brown People aren't gonna not talk about an episode that was months ago just because you haven't watched it 😂 it's not really a spoiler when 99.999% of greys anatomy have seen it lmao
Thank you so much for posting this. I had never heard this song before, and WOW, am I ever glad I decided to watch Grey's for the first time ever. It was so nice to be able to come here and find it. Thanks again.
I can't help but belt it out along with her...and I cry every time, when I think about how gorgeous her voice is, and how talented an actress she is. The scene she sang it for really made me cry!
Sara does incredible with this. The original by Brandi Carlile is good, but Sara gives it the emotion it deserves and like warriorbard said, she gave it conviction and hurt. What a perfect perfect way to describe it. So moving.
I LOVE her voice... What a beautiful song.. I get a feeling of beeing in love when I hear the song sung by Sara Ramirez. She is beautiful inside and out.
