Greyling fishing 

A trip fishing for winter Greyling in Derbyshire......
This was one of those days where everything and anything that could go wrong, did go wrong!!!
I was eager to get fishing when I arrived and marched off to a spot up the river, only to get there and realise I'd not checked in! Off I went back to the check in station then all the way back to where I'd left my gear.
I was only there a few hours, managed to lose 4 fish, suffer numerous tangles that resulted in me snapping off the line and re-setting up, a branch poke me in the eye, leaving my landing net behind in one swim and having to go back for it. It kept going to the point where after changing hook pattern I did manage to catch what I was there for, then after moving to another swim I got set up, turned around to get my landing net and as I moved my foot I stood on a branch that was buried under the vegetation, flicked up and knocked my tub of maggots into the river!!! Temper rising I decided to call it a day! Lol. I can laugh about it now but at the time I was ready to explode. And it didn't end there....
Once home I realised I'd not checked out either and my membership disc was still hanging in the check in box!! So I had to make the 45 minute trip the next day to go and get it and fill in the catch return book.
We all have days like that from time to time but this one broke me lol.
