@umarovracing I've heard about that happening with alot of tires. It's one reason I'm curious about other tires or a rear diffuser and wing. Or would that not help and put me out of street class before I start?
@umarovracing so is it taking the time to break in a straight line and do a few warm up laps? Do the re71rs do better on hotter track days? Are they good for autoX first timers? First track days?
So I was running mixed compound tires. In the front 245 Nankang CRS and in the rear 245 RE-71RS. Nankangs take a few laps to get in the heat range. So on that turn, I had a lot more grip from the Nankangs than the RE-71RS. After that I only had the car slide on me in the first few laps. You just have to be ready to catch it. I like it when the car is a bit loose. Allows me to be faster. However after few laps, car turns into a more neutral car due to RE-71RS in the rear heating up. RE-71RS is a very fast tire that's only good for a few hot laps. If you aren't driving at the limit they will last longer. Some teams use them for endurance racing. They are good for autocross.
What a bummer. I live in southern Maryland and about to possibly purchase a VN. Looking to head to DR with it. Yes an update video would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully a new car adventure is in you’re future.
Thank you. I might look into getting the refreshed EN whenever it comes out. You should definitely get it. Come to one of the WDCR SCCA events. Great group of people. There is another VN and EN in the group
