I bought GrillGrates 3 or 4 years ago to replace my rusted grates on my old gas grill. I've been really happy with them! I've since replaced that grill, but kept my GrillGrates and cut them down to size to fit my new, smaller grill. My new grill is a lot smaller than the old one, so I actually had two GrillGrates left over, so I cut them to fit my stepson's gas grill and gave them to him. Obviously I've been pretty happy with them. :) Another nice video, Dave!

Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! What a guy! Giving up some grill grates to another chef. But, since he's your stepson, I'll bet you get to taste the results of your gift now and then. Thanks again and best to you. Dave

Great video. If you have not tried burgers with the flat/plancha side of the GrillGrates you are missing out. It creates such an even crust similar to a griddle like most restaurants. It increases the surface area for the Maillard reaction to occur giving more great flavor.

Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! Hi Jeff. I agree! Kind of what smashburgers are all about, too. Smashed or thick, that crust is where its at. But...there are many ways to make a burger and each gives its own flavor characteristics. I like them all! Thanks again.

Wow I had seen these grates before, Now let me ask you Dave, do you think you could use these grates on top of the Griddle of a Blackstone to better sear steaks ?
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 3 года назад
Thank you for watching. They actually make a grate specifically for our griddles. Use the link in the description, go to "accessories" and then to "griddles" . They are different than the regular grill grates but work really well. Thanks!

I love my Grillgrates, but didn't know they had the griddle. I guess that's next on my list. BTW, how do you keep your burner tubes clean? Doesn't the grease drip into the tubes?
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 3 года назад
Larry, thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Good question! I leave the tube guards in place. The GG's fit on the same ledge that the original cast iron grates did so they are above the tube guards. Thanks again!

Where you buy that red temperature gauge? Does grillgrate cook meats taste better then infrared grill?
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 3 года назад
Thanks for watching! Follow the link in the description to the Grill Grates site and you can find the thermometer. I can’t say if GG’s cook “better” than infrared but they sure do cook Grate ! Thanks again.

Does this stop all the flare ups? Do you ever have issues where the grease still catches fire under the plates? On the grease catch even?
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 9 месяцев назад
Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! I can't say this stops ALL flare ups. But it reduces them a lot. Depends on how greasy the food is. For example, I would not cook bacon on them but 80/20 burgers are great. Steaks are great. Chicken is great. They will make the grill seem hotter and you will have a more even temperature. The grill marks are better and grill marks add flavor. I think you'll like them!!

Wondering if you can remove the flavor bars and use exposed burners?
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 2 года назад
Thanks for watching! You need to leave the bars on because some grease will still drip through the holes in the Grill Grates.

Whats the difference between the Grill Grates and the Sear N Sizzle grates?
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 3 года назад
Hi Vincent. The Grill Grates are taller, thicker and have holes. They are meant for putting over direct or indirext flame. The Sear N Sizzle are thinner, shorter ribs and do not have holes. They are meant for putting on a flat top griddle or other source of heat which is diffused. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Hi Martin. Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! Please use the links in the video description to find them on the Grill Grate page or on Amazon. The grates in this video are for a gas grill. When you go to the Grill Grate page you can find the grates made specifically for griddles. They don"t have holes and are thinner. You can find the prices there too. Please use the links. The price is the same but you help me out if you buy something. Hope this helps. Thanks!

I found what look identical to these ,only they are cast iron at a flea market. There terrific!! My son wanting them as well purchased these online hoping they would be the same and when he used them we found that they just don't hold the heat! There made of aluminum and aluminum immediately starts cooling off the second you open the lid. Its hard to get a good sear! The ones I purchased at the flea market being cast iron hold the heat a looooong time and cook perfectly! I've looked online and can't find them unfortunately and the only name on them is "atlas" that is cast into them on its side. I'm thinking they are "counterfeit " "grill grates" but none the less being made of iron makes them so much better! These aluminum ones just, well.....suck!! They just do comparably. This being the case makes me wonder why they didn't make them out of cast iron!?? But,they didn't and that fact is just very unfortunate 😕.

Thanks for watching! The CI grates you found sound interesting. However, I feel that you are comparing apples to oranges. The aluminum Grill Grates are specifically designed to TRANSFER heat as opposed to RETAINING heat. They do a great job at what they are designed to do. Thousands of people swear by them and they've won dozens of competitions vs cast iron grates. Please search Grill Grates on YT and you'll see dozens and dozens of videos of people using them with great results . The thing is...you can mix and match them with the CI grates your grill came with. That way you get the advantage of both depending on what you are cooking. And, you can turn the GG's upside down to have a flat grilling surface. Check out my video on doing a pork loin dinner and you'll see what I mean. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QoGNpSv4VGE.html I do appreciate you watching and thanks again.

you can't do bacon on a gas grill with an exposed flame you'll have a grease fire
@NextWithDave
@NextWithDave 3 года назад
Hi Randy. I get what you are saying but with this system you leave the burner covers in place. The grease drips onto them just like when you cook anything fatty. Like pork chops or 80/20 hamburger. I like the way you considered safety first! Thanks again.
