Grilled Greek-style Beef Liver
Ingredients:
500 g beef liver (sliced into thin pieces)
30 ml olive oil
1 lemon
2 garlic cloves
2 tsp dried oregano
Salt
Pepper
* Preparation:*
Rinse the liver under cold water and pat it dry with a kitchen towel. Generously season it with pepper all around.
Squeeze the lemon and mix the juice with the pressed garlic cloves in a bowl. Add olive oil and oregano, stirring everything into a marinade.
Evenly distribute the marinade over the beef liver and let it marinate covered in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
For optimal results, it is recommended to grill the liver over charcoal. Use a grill pan and preheat it. Grill the beef liver for 2 minutes on each side. It's important to salt the liver after grilling to avoid toughness.
Serve the finished grilled liver warm. As sides, you can use homemade tzatziki, fresh onions, spicy tomato paste, and toasted white bread or pita bread.
