Since a lot of people have been asking, this is not officially a Grimes song, it is an extract of a Pushkin poem. There's a different version of it from 2013 on my channel XX
Ох, вот приехала бы она в Россию. Это же прекрасно, как огромная толпа носителей русского языка будет скримить Пушкина и впадать в экстаз, мой мозг аж кончил серотонином от воображения такой картины.
@Yesenia Castellanos Lol, its a poem by A.S Pushkin about unrequited love. And i found a translation. I loved you once; perhaps I should exclaim, My love still lingers deep within my core. But I do not want to cause you any pain, So grieve thee not for me a moment more. Silently and hopelessly I loved you, Tormented, I was too jealous and too shy. May God provide another who will love you, Just as gently and as fervently as I.

A. Pushkin - Ya Vas Lyubil (my full translation) I loved you: love still, maybe, in my soul extinguished not fully; But let it no longer disturbs you; I do not want to sadden you by anything. I loved you mutely, hopelessly; sometimes by timidity, sometimes by jealousy I was simmered; I loved you so sincerely, so tenderly, As give you God to be loved by another. (Claire sings only the first part of the verse) Pushkin wrote these verses about love and with love. And Claire sings them with hate and demonic screaming. Pushkin is not an ordinary poet. If Grimes will pervert his poems, she would have mysterious problem in the future. For example hit her head on the board or get an electric shock (as it were)
Dude you talk bullshit, your points are irrelevant and spiteful, there was no bad intent attached to the lyrics and in the end of a day it is art and it is open for interpritation. I really wounder how can one be possible offended by her performance. Truth is, her singing is somewhat soothing and her accent is haleriously funny and amuzing. I can confirm as I am russian
+lllKSTlll You just have a different interpretation than her and that's okay. Everyone has the right to have their own interpretation. I'm Russian myself and I study Russian culture/language in university so I do know a thing or two about Pushkin. And the absence of love kills art? Again, it's YOUR opinion that there's no "love" in her interpretation. That is not an objective fact. I believe she absolutely does love making music, it's her passion.
