In the video it looks like this is the thickest foam I have ever seen. I will definitely be getting some of the revised version of Auto Fanatic snow foam. Looks like Griot's has issued a "throw down" to other foam cannon manufacturers! Griots still put's out some awesome products. Richard Griot should really be credited with bringing higher level "detailing" products to the masses when he first started Griot's with a catalog magazine of products before the days of RU-vid, Internet, Iphone's, etc. He was one of the first........many other's have followed Richard's lead.
Just used mine for the first time. It might be cheaper quality than the MTM that I have. But it’s lighter on the end of the gun and I swear it does better with foaming like you showed. Got mine on Amazon for 47$. You can get 2 for the price of 1 MTM.
To see Griots bring something like this to market that performs this well at a good price point is a good thing for everyone. I echo your sentiment on the PF22.2 - it's a good cannon overall, but the narrow mouthed top is a frustrating detail.
I can not stand filling the Pf22 it drives me nuts which is why i rarely use it. I now will be using this cannon regularly so check my IG for future clips and updates
My main thing with other foam cannons is the amount of product they suck down. I use some cheap no name amazon cannon for wheels and it absolutely chugs product where I can foam my entire super crew long bed f150 with 6-700ml of soap thoroughly. Watching you foam this down this Griots looks like it is pretty economical on the soap usage. Thanks for the review, I seem to be adding more and more Griot's Garage products onto my shelf.
yeah i can foam an entire car at least 3 times with this new cannon which is great. my other ones blast so fast i never can get 3 passes around the car
Nice review. I generally feel your not Griot's biggest fan but you definitely gave this canon props. I just do my own stuff and been using a cheap $20 Amazon canon which does work great for the $ but I think you just sold me on this. Appreciate review and probably wanna try your soap.
That foam cannon looks legit! One thing you didn’t mention and I noticed in the video is it looks like the top will also except their small bottles like the BOSS cannon does.
yes I actually realized that later on but i do not have any of those Griots 22 or 35oz bottles of product on hand but its neat if anyone does have those laying around. Also the automix metering tips do work on this cannon as well. Next video is a direct comparison with the MTM Pf22. So far I absolutely love this foam cannon that I gave away all my others to fans and bought two more of these for my shelf.
Great review! Just relocated from California to Florida and will need to order both the 007 foam and new Griot’s foam cannon. I’ll need to look at your video history for pressure washer reviews.
Great video review of the Griot‘s Foam Cannon. I just picked one up and haven’t used it yet. Worked so great with your snow storm shampoo that I just ordered some of that and I’m looking forward to trying it on my vehicles. Also you have a new sub
The only reason the 1/4 " quick connect is hard to thread on is because of the PTFE thread seal, it's very dense, and the finer on the bottle provides a better grip. I just ordered one, and I m going to try it with your foam soap that I've had for a month.
yes the jar on the Griots uses a fine thread and they are not interchangeable and i also hope they start selling extra bottles, when they released the Boss Cannon it was about a month or so before the extra bottles were offered with a cap.
Everything looks amazing, but i think we can't really tell if what's producing that foam is the new soap or the cannon. Woulda been best to test it with a more regular soap that is available.
@@autofanaticcars 4oz to how many oz of water? With the Pf22 i personally do 1oz of soap to 8oz of water , since the bottle sucks in size i only get to do 24-3
I bought you’re current version of the snow storm shampoo. I added 4 ounces to my foam cannon but didn’t foam as expected. Definitely going to purchase you’re revised version. What part of New York are you from ?
try shaking the current bottle very good next time. we realized over time the chemicals were settling so that was another reason the new formula is much thinner and different chemistry.
Hey Phil, any updates on the Rubbermaid Commercial Bucket/mop system we were emailing each other about? Hope all is well sir! Great content as always buddy
Why am I not surprised?! I use a lot of their cleaners and dressings which are nothing but top shelf IMO. I always keep my garage stocked with a number of their products and cant wait to add this to my shelf of tools and products.
usually residue in sun is from soap that contains harsh surfactants and too much caustic i have found. my soap is super safe that was the goal when we originally created it now the new version is even better.
Combining plastic, and metal, aluminum etc provides a weak point on impact. As plastic has more give then metals etc that do not have any give causing week points and cause breaking and cracking a lot easier
need pressure washer to use the foam cannon however you can still foam up your car using a pump up foamer i show that on the channel in some older videos.
NorthStar 230V its way overkill but i use it all over the property for heavy duty work. Watch my other video using the same cannon, my new soap and the Comet 1700 electric pressure washer. if you can not get good foam the pressure washer you using is not enough GPM but my new soap works awesome even with a cheap SUnjoe, check out my IG feed from yesterday youll see.
To me works exactly the same like mtm , but this one is more convenient price, There’s only one way to know , do a comparison video Show side-by-side so we all can see it, That is the only way to find out
Thanks for reviewing this! I saw this is in my latest GG catalog as well and was thinking of buying it; definitely will now! I am completely new to foam cannon washing a vehicle (not a stranger to detailing my vehicles though!). Is the premise that you simply foam up your vehicle, let it sit for a minute or two, and then rinse off and dry? No need for a wash bucket/mitt and any agitation? Does the foaming action also clean the rims pretty well or you recommend they are still agitated with a wheel brush and cleaner afterwards? Cheers!
Hi Dom it depends i wash my cars so often i mostly do touch less because my cars are protected with Auto Fanatic 007 Ceramic as a toper after each wash. I foam , wait then rinse, blow dry most of the water off, hit the panels with 007 and a PFM towel and done. I only do a contact wash when there is very bad dirt on the car like over the winter months or if i parked under a sap tree or birds had a party on the paint. Check out some other videos on this channel to see more about my process.
Should be noted that like 80% of the results with a foam cannon depend entirely on the pressure washer used, rather than the cannon itself or soap used.
next video will show the MTM vs Griots using the Comet Static 1700 Pressure Washer so you guys can see. My pressure washer rig is a serious commercial grade 230V unit so we felt testing it on a much less expensive 120v unit was a good idea. Stay tuned for that video either later today or tomorrow
yes good foam is the soap, cannon and GPM of a pressure washer but I know my set up so well that it never foamed as much as when I shot this video and the only change in my set up was using this new foam cannon.
I just purchased the Chemical Guy Torq Canon this week end and it cost me over $70 i haven't used it yet. Should I return it and get the Griots canon? I would love to get my hands on your new soap. Where would I be able to buy it from and what will it be called?
honestly Yes i would if I were you, better warranty with Griots plus this new cannon has a patented riffled housing. win win i think. I cant stop using mine
I just watched this video for the very first time. Where can I get this at? What stores sale it or do I have to order it online? If online, whats the address? Last question.. I see you used your pressure washer in the video. Can you produce the same results connecting that to a garden hose?
Looks great but phil can u try 2 other soaps like honeydew and maybe Polly gloss just to see how those diff variants work otherwise looks promising for sure thanks phil
it does seem to foam more than the Boss, according to the catalog I forgot to mention in my video that the nozzle has a patent pending riffling design like a gun i suppose. You can hear it how different it sounds compared to any other foam cannon so they are definitely doing something different in design
@@autofanaticcars ah okay, just had to double check because I don’t like having the thought of somethinng possibly breaking, when it could have been prevented
I've been using the brilliant finish foam cannon for several months and I have an issue with the weighted pickup ball rusting even if i dry it out after every use
yes if you use this machine at mega high PSI it almost becomes counter production when foaming it is just too powerful and the reservoir will be empty in seconds
marketing magic is the blue bottle with label is a mock sample for photos only. I was working with to see what I liked in terms of color. The clear with touch of blue is actual physical soap without all the dye. the production soap is light blue it is already made and off to bottling.
the pf22 works awesome but the ergonomics simply SUCK and until they redesign it i am sticking to this one. I just gave away my Weirannan cannons to a fan.
you can do that but the pre-rinse water left on the car makes the foam slide off to quick which is almost counter productive, i like to not pre rinse so the force of the foam and water coming out of the foam cannon blasts away the dirt on the top of the paint and the soap sticks for longer to do a contact wash or touch less wash.
Had one of these that only lasted a couple of months and the damn thing would only spit out the foam. I always ran warm water through it after each use. Total POS! Been using my PF22 do three years now & never have had one issue with it. The foam output is more dependant on the quality of foam you use vs the cannon. Been using GSF gentle snow foam as of lately & no product out there can even compare with it.
Wrong you did not have one of these a couple of months back this new foam cannon unit just came on the market this month so no idea why you are commenting that you had one. and FYI your overpaying for soap if you love GSF stop letting those other channels get into your head.
@@autofanaticcars FYI a friend of mine works in the product & development department that supply's many of the products for Griot's & he gave me one a couple of months ago to try out. I told him what I liked & disliked about it. And as far as the GSF is concerned I've never found a product including your snow foam that even comes close. Plus I get free shipping on a gallon which I don't think you can offer. I don't let the other channels get into my head. I try a product and if it out performs my expectations then that's what I'm using. I know many supplier's in the detailing world & I can get a gallon of GSF soap for $50.00 that retails for $80.00 plus the free shipping!
It does not I just checked the BOSS Foam Cannon has a much smaller opening to fill than the new Brilliant Finish. I hope they start selling extra bottles and caps for these hint hint
