This is actually super useful since we're hardly ever taught stand-up gripping per se in BJJ. Though obviously in BJJ you can and should grip break the hell out of your opponent while in judo the vast majority of those are banned.

I did judo for so many years and i remember after a couple years how fustrating it was getting cause of grips and no one really trained it so i went to other dojos and spoke to many top guys who showed me good stuff so its great for people getting into judo to see this information much easier than my way lol
@MrREDanvil
❤🙏🤩IF ONLY JuDo was taught this well all over, but this is rare!

My coach is great, and I love where I train. But I always find that these videos are so insightful.

Great video, thanks! I haven't had much opportunity to learn grip fighting since I started apart from bits and pieces of advice from the blackbelts as I've been going along , it's really helpful to have this video running through the fundementals! This is a kids class but it's great that your coaching style is such that I can benefit from it as a 20 year old haha

Coach Steve: This video has the single best O Soto Gari explanation that I have ever seen. The traditional doesn’t work against a resisting skilled opponent. Your 6 step process of 1. Anchor grip on sleeve. 2. Side step (one only) 3. Grip with power hand behind shoulder 4. Clamp down elbows. 5. Left leg across body 6. Reap. Is so easy to follow and will lead to muscle memory adaptation and execution! Thank you!

Well this is what I am looking for, we had done alot of grip fighting but it was basic training. Need to learn this and pass it down to my son as a legacy.
