Dark Spider-man reboot: it’s most the same, but uncle Ben is an abusive alcoholic who doesn’t give Peter the great power speech. When Ben dies Peter goes after the killer not to stop, but to thank him and help him get away. He then teams up with Norman Osborne to steal research from Oscorp competitors until Spider-Man leaves Goblin behind at a heist and Goblin gets arrested. Norman then kill aunt May to get revenge and Spider-Man realizes that crime doesn’t pay and becomes a hero, but has no qualms with killing so he just kills everyone he goes up against.
In terms of DC and Marvel being light and dark I feel like both companies have seen a total shift from their feel when they started. DC was super the American way and black/white morality and Marvel was the morally grey and a bit gritty. Edit: I think this is due to them dedicating so much to being one kinda way earlier on that fans over the turn of the century get tired of it and want the opposite. Kinda like how art movements come and go
I'd take a cue from Chuck Dixon's Nightwing run: Keep the focus on different aspects of crime. Example, Scorpion was a private eye so expand it by saying he's a corrupt police detective in his secret identity.
Funny thing, Andy and Dan's gritty Spider-man pitch was actually a comic. In the Edge of Spider-verse #4, Peter Parker eats Aunt May and Uncle Ben and tries to eat Mary Jane before Morlun shows up and consumes his life force, only after Peter lays eggs in Mary Jane's body.

Okay so my version of Spider-Man if it was greedy is that after uncle Ben dies Petter turns into a troubled kid and also because uncle Ben is dead aunt May can make enough money so people and may are poor. So with his parents dead and uncle been dead, people mostly keep quiet but also will lash out at people including aunt may, but Petter still get bully by Flash from time to time and one day he joined a gang to make some money and him with the gang try and rob an Oscorp van and in the van was the spider, one got out and bit him when they try to get some valuable Tech, then the next day when he realized he has power he fight flash and beat him to a pulp soon after he got kicked out and went to jail, he fights many prisoners and then he escaped going home to his aunt, but then when he's there aunt may was scared of him and tell him he should go back to the police and back to jail he got mad and in a blind rage killed Aunt May.
I know TOO MANY PEOPLE who would think that's a good idea. I know way too many people who are like "WHy doesn't Spider-Man just kill all his villains" or "Why doesn't Spider-Man ever just shut up" or my personal favorite "Why doesn't Spider-Man ever just sleep with ALL of the girls after him at once".

Dark Spider-man: I'd take origin from Spider-Gwen. Kinda. Uncle Ben works for Oscorp (as handyman). But one day, he was be fixing somethind in Dr. Connors's lab and, after some accident, he'd get infected by the Lizard serum. However, It takes few days to change him, so uncle Ben just returns home to aunt May and Peter and their dog Ace, have his Great power = great responsibility and then after few days he'd transform, ate aunt May (because he wouldn't have any control), the dog and few more people he'd meet on street, but not Peter, because he was sleeping at Harry's place. Long story short, Spider-man would have to kill uncle Ben, to stop him from killing others. Also this could be mistery, with Dr. Connors as Red Herring, but it doesn't have to be. If it was mystery, Peter would be searching for murderer of both Ben and May (and others). If not, This would be just first third to half of the movie and Dr. Connors would be the main villain, who infected Ben on pourpouse to see the effects of the serum in action.

here is a dark reboot, peter is getting bullied by everyone in school, goes on the trip and gets bitten by the spider, but the spider makes him more aggressive and he goes to school one day and flash bullies him in the hall and everyone is laughing, and chanting flash on. peter snaps and punches flashes head completely off, and everyone looks on in horror. he then starts killing the other students and webbing them with his organic webs that he gained from the spider. he makes a black spiderman costume, and norman osbourne is angry at spiderman for killing harry at school and hunts spiderman down. spiderman kills norman due to not being restrained by uncle bens speech. he follows the goblin glider back to normans home base and starts taking some of his arsenal. he takes it back home to aunt may and uncle bens, and they go to the basement and catch him with the costume on and goblins weapons. may has a heart attack and dies on the spot from shock. ben gets angry and yells at him for killing may due to his actions, and ben slaps peter. peter back hands ben and smashes him against the wall and kills ben. peter leaves with a few things, and goes to the lab where doc ock is working and asks him what should he do, since he had already met doc ock was working in the lab, and wanted to intern there, and doc tells him that he watched the news and saw that the police found out that peter was the one that killed his classmates, and aunt and uncle, and he and peter team up and go on crime sprees but peter is much darker and more evil than doc ock. there is a bounty on peter and one day peter hits doc ock during an argument and leaves out. doc ock decides that peter is out of control, and gets up with the avengers and asks for amnesty for helping them capture peter. peter found out that miles warren had made a clone of gwen , peter, and norman. peter makes his clone believe that doc ock is a bad guy and the clone is a hero like him. clone goes to fight doc ock and the avengers go after him. wolverine is with the avengers and doc ock holds clone and wolverine stabs and kills clone due to peter killing kitty pride at his school when she asked him to stop and he hit her so fast before she could phase. peter is watching it all from a distance and then after seeing the clone die, he leaves new York, never to be seen again until......
gritty Spiderman starts out as the normal Spiderman story but with Peter having more of a temper because of his blaming himself for uncle ben's death and gwen stacy's death. Then when he receives the symbiote he keeps it as they blend better since he isn't as afraid of how he behaves because of it.
I got one for Spider-Man: His parents never die. Ben never dies. He graduates from college and works at Stark Industries. They're having some issues with Osborn Inc. trying to do a hostile takeover. A spy screws up an experiment that Peter was working on that kills Gwen and Peter's parents while giving Peter a version of his spider powers but leaves him in the hospital. While in the hospital Osborn does a deal with AIM who kill Ben and May while they are visiting Peter. Peter goes on a vengeance spree where he, also, finds out that Tony, also, had the test to fail so that Peter wouldn't leave Stark Industries as his experiment being successful might leads to Peter becoming a possible competitor later on.

My Version of dark gritty Spiderman would be the the spider that bit him is way more unstable and mess with Peter mentality and physically. Instead of Uncle Ben dying Aunt May dies, and Ben does not take it well and becomes a semialcoholic and lashes out on Peter. And Peter takes out his frustration on the criminals at night, slowly having these spider instincts and Ben’s abuse gnawing away at him before he eventually snaps

After Peter catches up to the mugger, he accidentally kills him, but when Peter finally sees the face, it turns out to be Uncle Ben. Now Peter is living with the guilt of killing Uncle Ben, and he doesn't becomes Spider-Man until Kingpin comes to collect a loan from Uncle Ben. Because he is dead, Kingpin kills Aunt May and demands Peter pays the loan. So Peter now uses his power to rob people to earn money, and of course James Jonah Jamison is having a field day, and spreading the news of Spider-Man robbing innocent folk. A few days later, Peter is close to earning enough money, all he has to do is steal from Norman Osborne. He successfully completes the robbery, pays off Kingpin, and ends up fighting and beats Kingpin to death. Peter tries to return to a normal life, but he cannot recover from the trauma. Norman Osborne takes up the Green Goblin persona, and begins a hunt for Spider-Man. *To Be Concluded!*
My gritty reboot: Spider-Man is actually an urban legend. The name comes from what is thought to live in an old warehouse that's completely covers is webs, except the single skeletal remains of a man holding a pistol dangling from the center of the structure. A missing teenager, named Peter Parker, is thought to have disappeared there as well. Slowly, other webs begin to appear in other local alleys and buildings. Gwen Stacy, a detective and daughter of the precinct captain, starts connecting emaciated criminals that have been bound by organic webbing to the warehouse. As she investigates more, she learns about "Spider-Man" and concludes that Spider-Man is Peter Parker. The origin story is still same, but the bite mutated Peter, causing his legs to fuse together, six spindly spider legs grow from his back, and his face to distort into a hybrid. Peter wasnt at the wrestling event because of this transformation. The body of the man hanging is the mugger that killed Ben, who was searching for his nephew, and the mugger happened to stumble into the wrong place. Peter still does not know about his uncle. Peter is slowly expanding his domain and it shows (think "Kingdom of Spiders" on a smaller scale). Mid/End credit scene: One of the buildings has egg sacs spread around. Two in particular stand out. One has a reddish hue to it. The other has hatched, while black slime and goo smeared across the floor. A black clawed hand retracts into the shadows and a guttural voice released one word: Parker.
Listening to the discussion, I had a thought about the topic. Peter Parker actually becomes a scientist/researcher and ends up as one of the recognized brilliant minds for Ozcorp, where his idol Dr. Ozborne, built a scientific business empire that has advanced technoligies in various fields. His research is related to Spider and genetic splicing infusing some traits into other creatures (not necessarily humans). The research is mainly for health improvement of those with muscular issues, developing viable mass production for spider web as a raw material for protective gear etc. At least that was Peter's concept for what his research will lead to. His research eventually has a breakthrough while he is at his more "lavish abobe" with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Unbeknownst to Peter, Ozcorp has kept tabs on his research and has sent henchmen to quickly retrieve it so that he doesn't get accolades and recognition for his research given that they have other plans that go beyond the simplistic humanitarian purpose of Peter Parker. Henchmen break in through Peter's Office window and knock him out with a blow to the head. They ransack his office causing a ruckus alerting both Aunt May and Uncle Ben that something was wrong in Peter's Office. Uncle Ben tries to check on Peter but he startles one of the henchmen who ends up shooting him. Aunt May screams and runs for their "security system" or calls the police (what is more convenient). The gunshot wakes Peter and he sees Uncle Bed on the floor in a pool of blood. He runs to check on Uncle Ben and the henchmen panic. They try to leave through the window but Peter manages to catch one of them by their coat and doesn't let him go. The henchman turns to him then says "You just had to make this difficult..." before shooting him in the abdomen. Aunt May sees Peter get shot and faints/falls to the floor. The henchmen leave and decide to come back once the "heat" has died down to get his research. Peter, with the last of his strength crawls to his biometric locked safe holding his prototype serum. He hesitates not sure how it will react to human DNA as he only theorized it but not tested it, but he feels his consciousness slipping away and stabs himself with the serum before fainting himself. The police and ambulance arrives to secure/save Peter and Aunt May. Uncle Ben has already passed on. Once Peter wakes in the hospital, he finds Aunt May talking to the police. The police tell him about what happened and he was lucky to be alive as the gunshot to his abdomen only appears to have grazed him. There was a lot of his blood though which they could not explain. Peter found this odd as he clearly remembers it wasn't just a graze and when he checks for the wound, it is no longer there except for a small scab off to his side. He then realizes he doesn't see Uncle Ben and the police could not tell him where he is or what room he was recovering. He looks to Aunt May who lowers her head and starts crying. After seeing this, he realizes the truth, Uncle Ben has died. He asks the police about who those men who attacked there house were. To the police, it just looked like a regular home invasion and they seems to have opened Peter's personal biometric safe and left. Other than that, it doesn't seem to be a targetted attack as far as the police are concerned. But they do tell Peter they have a lead and are trying to track down the suspect. ---------------------- Have to stop here but this is as far as I could type out. I am getting at the point where I want to bring the story to where Peter's drive/success end up being the cause to why they were invaded and he ends up finding out it was Dr Ozborne who sent the henchmen to try and steal his prototype and research. My idea eventually leads Peter into ruin as Ozborne has made sure to plant a worm to delete any traces that could show Peter's research that may give Ozborne motive for the attack. Ozborne's idea is "If I can't have it, no one can". This will lead into a darker more grittier Spiderman who is trying to topple Ozcorp and reveal their shady dealings. He will eventually come across a lot of other cases of researchers or scientists who were discredited or killed while their research all end up being credited to Ozcorp or Ozborne himself.
I will write the one reboot no one in the video wanted to consider (they said gritty,but most of that stuff was different hues of dark). "In this universe Ben and May parker were abusive to Peter Parker, which made him grow up into a mean person. After getting bit by a radioactive spider he commits to a life of crime and leaves his abusive aunt and uncle behind never contacting them again". Edit: (TLDR added) The Spiderman is a common villain in this universe and Ben and May Parker are both alive and horrible in this universe.
Aunt May is killed instead of Uncle Ben and Peter never gets the great power great responsibility speech. Uncle Ben in his grief turns into a depressed alcoholic pushing Peter even deeper into his anger and seeking vengeance. He tries to be a good superhero until the constant put downs by JJ combined with the symbiote coming to spider-man earlier turns him into the lethal protector instead of Eddie. The avengers try to dissuade Spider-man from his grim anti-hero killing methods. Instead Spider-man teams up with heroes like the Punisher, Blade, and other heroes in favor of killing. This becomes the Civil War that splits the heroes instead of registration. The whole thing comulates with Peter killing a masked criminal killing who was killing others. He finds out the people the criminal was killing was part of the underground mob and in his dying breath Peter realizes it was Uncle Ben getting vengeance for the death of Aunt May.
Quicksilver runs into the past to save his adoptive mother, but when he gets back he finds out his changes caused _Peter Parker_ to be killed instead of Uncle Ben. Uncle Ben gets bit by the radioactive spider while going after the killer, and ends up killing the guy and becoming a darker Spiderman. Traumatized by Peters death, Aunt May goes insane and becomes Green Goblin.
I gotta gritty reboot(sorry if it’s bad): Instead of Uncle Ben dying, he is instead alive, but in a coma due to the gunshot wound and hitting his head when he fell onto the ground. This leaves Parker furious and he tracks down the criminal. After some investigation, he eventually discovers that the man who he left alone that night was the man who put Uncle Ben in the hospital and this drives Peter into a rage and he kills the criminal by strangling him with a rope and by the time the cops arrive, they would see the guy’s body left hanging on the side of a building. That moment gave Parker the idea of creating his spiderwebs and to start up his own company, but to hide his identity, his identity as owner of the company is unknown and he part-times as a reporter to find out about murders and to secretly hide his identity as an inventor and the infamous Spider-Man(this also hides the fact that he uses web-shooters and this gives people the idea that Spider-Man has real webs). Spider-Man does still save people, but he would kill and after a lovely donation from Tony Stark, he uses that money to buy some tech from Stark Industries to design and build his own version of the Ironman suit and this is how we get Iron-Spider.

Losing the quips and becoming a more punisher type charector killing and maiming criminals. Peter parker was an orphan born in the middle of the cold war. He was a war orphan from his parents that died serving. Uncle Ben and Aunt May were actually missionaries. They took care of peter and 20 other kids including Felica Hardy and Mary Jane. The war has escalated over the years where alien technology was more common than super powers until Norman Osborn, whom in this time is both known as a war hero and arms dealer heading the fight in U.S. weapons and scientific discoveries. Having seen hints of the super human serum he wanted to test his version as a new hope to ending the conflict but choose orphans to be his test subject. After several messy results the sole survivors are Peter Felica and Mary. Mary jane is infused with venom symbiote, Felica cat genetics, and peter spider dna. They watched all the kids die but the only parents these kids trusted by Uncle Ben are told the classic phrase but to encourage them to fight the war. This team is effective and drive back and destroy any facility that stood in their way. Until one mission goes horribly wrong. Peter must kill both the girls he loved, his friends, his family to survive. But Ben’s words rings in his head to finish this war. After beating this threat peter is broken but he’s become a battlefield junkie needing to fight because peace is a lie and the most responsible thing to do is finish the war. He sides with nobody and start conflict around the world with his vast engineering skills building weapons for all sides just to keep the fights going. This story would end with Ben and May thinking of how they were responsible for this monster this mistake as held them both captive with suicide collars in the old mission as living relics of his past the only people left that watch as the young boy they raised destroyed the world. -made up on the spot

Really though all you need to do to make any hero a gritty reboot is look at the world and characters perspective from a pessimistic view. reverse is true for making any hero brighter like 60's batman. Spiderman already has all the pieces of a dark gritty story but its from a non chalant teen perspective when stan lee thought teens had not a care in the word. Spiderman never dwells on the effect of the horrible events, only refrences them every once and a while for a story. Batman chooses to make sure no other child will have to suffer like he did. a pessimistic view that more villains will always exist. Spiderman follows with great power comes great responsibility which has a more optimistic outlook of general helpfulness instead of focusing on evil crime vs anything someone needs help with. Spiderman is rescuing people from burning buildings and car wrecks along with stopping criminals. Batman basically ignores the non crime related incidents unless its a league mission.
Mine is everything happens the exact same way as the main storyline right until the wrestling match in mine there's an entrance fee 5k but the pize is 50k so Peter borrows the money from the maggia he still gets cheated so can't pay them back and hammerhead sends someone to rough him up. Uncle Ben steps in the enforcer pulls a gun shooting uncle Ben splattering his brains on Peter. Peter just beats him to death. Hammerhead himself pays aunt may a visit but by this this time Peter has made his web shooters hammerhead and Peter fight in front of aunt may he unloads his web shooters down hammerhead's throat choking him to death. He tells aunt may he is the reason uncle Ben is dead she disowns him. Spider-Man goes on a rampage hunting down and killing all the criminals.
I got one Peter gets bit but it also starts slowly poisoning him. He goes to Tony and him and Tony come up with a quick cure which also increase his power at the same time. After awhile of him being same ole spiderman eventually goblin comes in and kidnaps aunt may and put peter into a situation where he have to use the cure to stop him. Tony gives him the cure and warns him but he takes it goes to fight the goblin but kills aunt May in the progress after that he completely juices up and kills the goblin. Coming off the high of the kill and the cure he just starts taking it whenever he goes out. I want it to eventually end with Tony talking to peter about addiction and he just slams Tony out if fruition and shame

An edgy version of a spider man reboot could start with Uncle Ben being a massive dick to aunt may and peter, and peter is the one who kills uncle Ben to finally stop the abuse of aunt may. However, he does this as peter and not spider man, and begins his life as a spider man that kills, as a dead criminal is better than a living one.

Spiderman universe is the same as our universe and he don't have power so the story goes like this he live in hight crime rate area and he is good at running and parkour and he is gymnastics one he was walking to home and heard gun shot in home area amd he run to to see his friend shot and his mom and dad wounded and he saw the guy running since he is good at running he run after even though he doesn't have weapon to defend himself his instinc told he need to catch this guy to get justice for his friend and family he found the guy change into different clothes and he follow him slowly and hit the guy in the head and he call the police on him when the police ask kid what you did was dangerous dont try that again so Peter said my name is not kid my name is spidey the police arrest the guy. While peter was walking back he got transported to different world.
I want a gritty reboot of the hulk where hulk is an actual monster who radiates gamma radiation from destruction and to have alot Of monster gore and violence
My Dark Spider-Man reboot: an evil Spider-Man name The Tarantula (real name Parker Peterson) from alternate universe were The Heroes are Evil and The Bad Guys are Heroes (I mean it’s not the first time that Marvel and DC copying each other, I mean where else did Marvel got a idea about Deadpool aka a Deathstroke Ripoff) and The Tarantula don’t have any heroes because he kill them all and he have The Heroes weapons as like Trophies (but Sandman or his version called The Sandbox he got him in a jar and if Sandbox try to get out The Tarantula sit the jar on fire and he slowly turn into glass, his costume is all black and blue and the only part are red is his eyes and his Spider logo and just like Spidey he got a girl friend but he don’t just have one girlfriend he got three (Gwen, M.J and The Fenight aka his version of Black Cat) he’s so evil that he can kill people without move a finger (I fact he don’t just climb the wall normal when he climb walls he just walk on the wall like “yeah I can climb ups walls so what”)
Also he got same power like Spidey (like webbing, wall clawing, spider-since etc etc) and powers that Spidey don’t have (like mind control and just like Miles Spider-Man he can go invisible)
