The Memphis Grizzlies suspended Ja Morant from all team activities yesterday after a video surfaced of Morant flashing a gun on a friend’s Instagram Live account. This comes two months after Morant served an 8-game suspension for flashing a gun on his own Instagram Live account. An NBA spokesperson said “We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information.” Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react.

It’s not just the gun! It’s the fact that he’s mocking everyone while showing it when he’s not supposed to. It’s also the fact that these are put out by him and his friends. It would be a bit different if a bystander caught it, but he’s putting it out! I’ve never seen someone with so much entitlement and lack of self awareness. Everyone is saying, it’s his friends; no it’s not. It’s no different than Aaron Hernandez, it’s come out that he was worse than his friends. Ja is worse than his friends and Nick made a great point, his friend put the phone down real quick when he saw Ja holding the gun. I’m black and we can’t keep pushing the narrative by saying “well if so and so did it, it wouldn’t be a big deal”. It’s so bad for our culture and just entitles people.
