I use 40 to 60 psi air to clean the filter. I really don’t like beating the pleats on the filter. FYI I have the upgraded HEPA filter cartridge.

20 amp breakers tripping are most likely old breakers, they get lower with time. Second is other current draws on the circuit.

We used to have a grizzly warehouse in muncy Pennsylvania. It was a multi hour trip, but was worth it to avoid their delivery cost because at the time it was cheaper. They also used to have tent sales which were fun. Alas they decided to close the warehouse and consolidate. Unfortunately, haven't bought anything from them since.

Thanks for the comment David! Interesting, I heard they were in PA at one time. Wish they were still there. I have several of their machines (jointer, planer, bandsaw) and I've been pleased with all the purchases so far. Their customer service is really great! Thanks again!

The breaker popping off might have to do with current load on the same line. If there are other equipment being plugged into it. I think a dedicated 20amp 110volt curcuit for JUST the collector might not have the issue

Thanks for the comment .... could be ..... personally, I've never had an issue since the recording, but I only operate one machine on that circuit at a time - thanks again!

good review, thank you. Have you tried hooking up both 4" ports? Just curious if it's enough suction
@DIYwithDennis
@DIYwithDennis 2 года назад
Thanks! yes, i now have both ports set up with 4" hoses. I use one that is dedicated to my jointer because of my garage setup and the second floats to wherever i need it, i.e., miter saw, band saw,, table saw, planer. I did purchase 2 blast gates from Rockler and I only keep one open depending on what tool I'm using. But to your question, I did run a quick unscientific test. I ran the additional hose to my miter saw and kept the other on the jointer where it stays. Opened only the blast gate to the miter saw for a few cuts. Then opened both gates for a few cuts and just tried to compare the amount of dust being pulled into the hose connected to the miter hose and didn't notice any appreciable difference. Hope this helps! Dennis

You mentioned that you replaced the stock canister with a Hepa filter, is that a part you sourced from Grizzly or was it 3rd party?
@DIYwithDennis

Hi Malovi .... thanks for watching ... it was sourced from Grizzly and is compatible with the g0860 .... here is the link www.grizzly.com/products/grizzly-hepa-filter-upgrade-for-g0860-g0861/t30489

If it's so vibration free why was the glass sliding around?

I want to get the Hepa filter but the ones from Grizzly are twice as much as the Wynn canister filters, can you make an adaptor to replace the filter for a Wynn Hepa?
@DIYwithDennis
@DIYwithDennis Год назад
Hi JD, sorry, I have no idea - maybe call Wynn to determine if they have any experience with that - please post on what you find out - thanks!

@@DIYwithDennis they did not, just referred me to the diy plenum videos but those are on a different set up, grizzly already has their own metal plenum box.. how does your filter attach? I haven't seen any pictures of how it looks under there.. im sure something can be made but trying to find the info before I buy..

@@jd1399 ok - take a look at the Grizzly manual on their site for the dust collector -there are some pictures that may help starting on page 21

Thanks for reviewing this unit, I have been considering it for several months. How’s the noise level? I’m working in a basement shop. Similar to you, I’d mainly be using it with a planer, jointer and bandsaw.

Hi Craig, thanks for watching! I'm working out of my garage so it may not totally match your situation but ..... If my sound meter is still accurate (it's old) the sound level at about 10 feet is ~85 db and if I stand on the other side of the door leading into the house it registers ~62db .... Hope that helps ... I also have a video on the assembly process as well ..... Thanks Dennis

@@DIYwithDennis Thank you that is helpful. How is the unit running 2 months later?

@@craigmeaney Hi Craig, no regrets, I'm in the middle of my first real rough lumber project (kitchen prep table) and it's doing fine although I have to say that 20 gal collector fills up pretty fast when doing a lot of dimensioning :)
