Groceries Are TOO Expensive !!!🍌🍗 🥦 

I literally bought four items, some mousse, toothpaste, a rotisserie chicken, $40 😭

Ah memories from when I could go to the store and buy almond milk for $1.50 instead of $3.75 and snack cakes for $2.00 instead of $4.50. Those were the days! Nah, but for real; if the price of food's gonna keep going up, wages should be higher than they are, but they're not. Time to buy 4-5 items at Dollar General for $50 to get me through the week or at least halfway through 😂🤣

It's really out of control in Houston too, I saw a bag of Hershey kisses at one family dollar that was $11 dollars when at the family dollar by my house that same bag would cost $5. Not only just for food either, I've been to a couple of stores, when I was little you could buy an outfit set altogether but now you can't. Each piece is a different price, I saw a swimsuit the other day and the top and bottom were sold separately.....

The prices at the local groceries stores where are live at are insane! Even the advantage cards won't save shit! 😒

That's why I usually go to dollar stores and Save-A-Lot nowadays; but if it's stuff like eggs and bread I usually go to Meijer's for that.

its insane,i cant afford to eat daily anymore, i havnt eaten in a few days now because im trying to save food for the month. (ssi is once a month you get paid and i dont get much in foodstamps)

It's worse when you have dietary restrictions like gluten free or allergies. I can't eat dairy or eggs because of my allergies and it costs so much more extra to get soy or almond milk. I'm being forced to pay extra for an item that won't kill me if I eat it.

This problem is international too! The conglomerates are so huge at this point they control the markets in multiple countries and will extort any community they can reach, even smaller shops need to sell expensive because they can only buy from them and selling any less would make it devastating lost to small business...

Paying a lot of money for groceries is insane! I felt like I paid my bursar holds in college. 😅

Especially when you have food allergies, buying the dairy free stuff the nut free stuff pay so much and the portions are getting smaller 😂

Great video bro! I'm telling you this is crazy. Grocery shopping isn't fun and convenient anymore. We have jacked up prices raised through the roof as if everybody is a millionaire buying groceries. I'm selective with my grocery shopping. My diet has changed too. Things have to turn around or else people will go on strike. Literally I feel exhausted at times going to the store. People are SICK of this madness.

I'm in Germany right now but it's really changed here too. Grocery trips that costed 40 are now more like 60 or 70 for the same amount of items. And many lower priced stores like NP are gone so you have to shop at more expensive stores.

I'm suffering with an invisible illness (probably Lupus), and years ago, I found cutting gluten, dairy, and sugar from my diet helped reduce the frequency and severity of my flare-ups. Shopping now is an actual nightmare. I went to the store the yesterday, bought DF cheese, GF bread, sandwich meat, and teriyaki sauce, and it cost me $25 (I was lucky the bread was on the discount rack, otherwise it would have easily been $30). I know I have to buy specialty, but the price hike is real, and who is actually making enough to cover the costs?! I can't even imagine what my BFF in CA is paying out each week to feed her family of 5!

It was never this bad! When i first moved out of my parents house, so like almost 10 years ago, a full grocery cart cost me $50.. 50! And that was fresh fruit and veggies and meat! Not just the frozen tv dinners that I’m forced to eat now because the prices are ridiculous!

I’ve noticed an increase for sure and I’m so glad I don’t have kids. Since it’s for myself, I don’t mind because i just feel its basic self care to spend on what you need for yourself 🤣 but I’m mindful when I buy produce or fruits. It goes bad so fast it’s almost a waste of money.

I do most of my shopping at Trader Joe's. Their prices have gone up too, but nowhere near as bad as Kroger.

You're not the only one definitely. I am from Chicago, and there has been some grocery stores merging that has happened. I am not sure if any other state has a store called Jewels, but that one and Marianos have merged together and guaranteed both of them were already very expensive stores separately. Now they are merged together, they made food even more expensive. A box of cereal literally almost over $10 and I don't even eat cereal like that. And the news talking about try eating cereal to cut grocery costs 😐on top of that, I also live in area where it's getting very close to become a food desert. They just took away 2 Walmarts that were closest to me, and we lost Target that was also close to where I live about 6 or 8 years ago. So grocery shopping in my city, especially if you live south side, you will at least have to travel a mile or so away from the store, or drive close to Walmart in Indiana for decent price and avoid tax cost. Also, we have too many dollar stores in the hood, even though that is about to be replaced by Five And Below stores within the next few years to come.

Two years ago I was hosting a sleepover with a friend. We were getting two family sized bags of chips and small sodas. It was about 15 dollars in total. Now, it’s about 20 dollars. It was pricey then, but it’s getting even pricier. This is why we need equal wages and lower costs, so that everyone gets paid equally and can all buy this without people worrying “oh no, I don’t have enough” or companies may think that they won’t have to amp it up because of there won’t be super rich people to buy it no matter the price, everyone will have relatively the same amount of money.

I do most of my grocery shopping between sam’s club, trader joes and Walmart and sometimes Giant (sister company of stop & shop in ny) Bj’s wholesale prices are too high. It’s actually cheaper to spend the gas to travel 30 miles to go to sam’s club.

I am from Hawaii and yeah it is expensive.

Me and my grandma only go to the store like twice a month so we get 2 carts full of groceries. Back then before 2020 it was about $600 for both of them. But 2020 and after it's now like $800 for two carts

Everything is too expensive Tony . Inflamation has gone up so much in the years . I remember when groceries were cheap as fuck . Even fast food was way cheaper back then . It’s crazy . It also depends on the state you live in too . New York is expensive as fuck
