I didn't think I was there that long ago, but I definitely didn't see that Lara bar box! I love that store and the people. That store is the only way we get to eat certain foods at all.

Good for you! I'd have a hard time shopping anywhere else! I haven't found anything like that here, in Colorado. We have found a couple discount grocers, but nothing that amazing.

This was so neat! I would love this store! ❤️ we have Amish where I live but they don’t have a store. They seem to respect us though because we live a rural life similar to them. So I try to learn from them and observe them. This would be a fun date night for me and my hubby. ❤

I live a little farther away from my favorite places to Amish shop, but that just makes it more of a treat when I do go. And regardless, it's super well worth the trip!! Thanks so much for sharing!!! That store is a valuable asset to your community!! We have a large population of Amish and Mennonite families in our county. Our Amish owned store is very much like your store but is divided into a few separate markets. The discounted foods and bulk items are separated and owned by different individuals. Like you we have people that travel for many miles to shop. I feel blessed to have their businesses in our area. These are the "Mom and Pop" stores that the "Big Box Stores" will not close down. We have 3 local Amish stores in our area. 1 caters more to tourists. 1 is a seconds store. And one has food and lots of medicinal stuff. Love them.

Good morning Heather and Levi. Wow, that was awesome. I know we spend 300 or more a week and there's only 2 of us Prices here in California are astronomical. It's really getting hard around here but we're old and not up to moving to another state. One of my daughters lives in Oregon and my other one lives here. My husband's kids live here in California so we can't leave our babies. Well that's enough of me. You all have a wonderful day and enjoy your food. Love you guys.

We have a Mennonite store about 20 miles from us, then there is another Mennonite store that is 25 miles South of it. The Amish store is 40 miles from us. Last year we would go to all three stores about once a month on Saturdays to see what bargains we could find. The closest one we frequent more often.

This is so amazing to me!! I didnt know amish communities were a big thing. I've heard of the amish communities but didnt know how big they are! The prices blow my mind especially being here in hawaii everything is sky high!

I live about 2 hrs away. But we have a couple little Amish stores around us. They don’t have as many deals. Since our area near bowling green is a lot more commercialized. But I still shop there as much as I can.

This was amazing! I loved going along with you. I wouldn't step foot in a walmart again i don't think. I wish I could find such a treasure near us. Side note: would it be ok to put regular coco butter on chewies GROWING udder i noticed yesterday when i was doing a check that she was getting chapped. Palmers Coco butter and shea butter is all i have on hand at the moment. So i thought about wiping her off with a sensitive skin baby wipe and putting some on her, just wanted your opinion first

It felt like u were shopping during a power outage🤭 but I would do it too if we had a store like that nearby! Our grocery store is only a mile away. Prices have shot up and we are struggling so we've had to go to different food banks off & on for a while. My sister & I stood outside in the cold for an hour last night at a church. Our feet were frozen at the end but it was worth it...we probaby got $200 dollars worth of groceries. There were items that had to be tossed immediately (they were already going bad) but enough to make a few meals and an abundance of snacks. Some of the things we got were yogurt, eggs, tofu, chicken deli strips, ground turkey, bananas, french bread, pies, cake, donuts, grapes, apples, a few pre-made foods, some ready to eat salads, lettuce, cranberry sauce, canned veggies, fresh stir fry veggies, pink lemonade, and some meats that don't look the best but will be fine for the dogs. It sucks not being able to buy & cook what we want but I dont really enjoy eating anyway (only do it because I have to) so we will make it work. Hopefully someday employers will raise wages or landlords will come down in rents or housing prices will adjust to make life affordable again. We are 45, have worked hard all our lives, & have basically nothing to show for it! I would definitely go the homesteading route or permaculture route if I had it to do over. Working for "the man" and not seeing any results is infuriating. They say in the future we will own nothing & be happy. Someone also said "when u have nothing, u have nothing to worry about." Well, it's TRUE we own nothing...but we AREN'T happy & we ARE worried!
