Are you seeing more items than usual locked up in your local grocery stores? It's to help prevent thefts, but is it overkill? Even the very basics, like laundry detergent, are under lock & key in some stores. Steve McCarron and Tyrah Majors talk about the annoyance it can create for regular shoppers.

As far as I know there are still laws on the books that make theft of property illegal. Why are these laws not being enforced? Maybe we need to quit coddling and enabling these criminals and allow store owners and their staff to prevent shoplifting through the use of force, including weapons?

How about this, have the DA office of Seattle actually charge and prosecute criminal act of theft under $1000. Then when conviction comes from court DA office of Seattle recommends the full sentence or close to the Judge

No thats where your city is at. I hate the state of new york at times. But people arent being allowed to just walk into stores and take whatever they want and walk out. Guess NY isnt that bad, still would already be living in texas or florida if i didnt love the 4 seasons, especially winter.

It's not an insane move because the more people are allowed to steal the higher your price is go so appreciate the locks okay. What makes me sick is that nobody stopping these shoplifters and they're not getting persecuted. That's what happens when you vote in Democrats

Actually the problem is getting sued by these thieves if we put hands on them. That's not dems or repubs, it's a lawyer judicial system problem. Then add in the facts that people will use backpacks or tubs to put stuff in and just ring up the tub/backpack or they run out the fire exits.
