With how Travis asked Matt to use the bathroom in Grog’s voice and how frequently he does this, it’s now my headcanon that Matt is a voice that Grog hears in his mind.
"My hunger grows, but the air tarnishes my blade. Perhaps we can have the conversation...elsewhere?" Interesting way of saying, "it smells like shit in here, let's continue this later."
Nothing amplifies an already hysterical moment quite like Liam trying desperately not to spit out his drink while falling backwards out of frame. Shit's downright magical, I tell you.
Sam can genuinely pair with anyone and make it hilarious. The longer the first campaign went on the more I realized this. But he particularly brings out his best with Grog because they're both wonderfully degenerate.
Grog and Scanlan are what make the show for me, (And Matthew Mercer of course!) honestly everyone could die but the only ones I would mourn would be Grog and Scanlan. As much as I understand the whole "haunted by their past" motif everyone else has going on, and I've worked it myself, but those two... Poetry.
They both are actually haunted by their pasts as well. They just dont show it often or bring it up, dealing with it in their own ways. Partly Grog isnt the most intelligent so he doesnt think of much unless you get the gears running. Scanlan prefers to look on the bright side of things though as we see in episode 85 he cant contain himself anymore to being his jolly happy self
