The similarities in my new poodle and this little guy are astounding. Not so much in their appearance, but in the way they acted for the first groom. So sweet
This is just about the CUTEST standard parti-poodle I have ever seen! He is just adorable, calm, good natured, and coöperative! You were so smart to get him, and he will become your favorite!
Beautiful coat. Gorgeous puppy. Standard Poodles are known for being great on the table, so; he'll get there soon. Side note: I made the mistake of layering my Poodle's ears (I like to change his look often) BUT ear hair grows very slowly. It' taking almost a year to grow to one length. I recommend never layering the ears unless you want to leave it that way long term! Finally, I trained mine to be great by keeping the cat dish on the groom table (out of the puppy's reach) and giving him a piece of cat kibble once every few minutes. By the time he was 4 months old he was perfect while being groomed (except for shaving his front feet - which took a while longer because he's ticklish).
Yes! I tend to shy away from layering ears unless requested! Good idea on the cat dish! Will keep working with him but great to know your baby learned table manners easily!
New subscriber! So glad I found this channel. It’s my dream to become a groomer. I really appreciate how relatable and honest y’all are. Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing more videos:)
Hydra Xtreme(clarifying shampoo) followed by Hydra Volumizing or Artero Relax. After the bath, I use Hydra dematting and fishing spray. It is light and does not weigh down the coat which makes it perfect for fluffing out and scissoring it is also amazing for brushing out any tangles.
I just happened to see a video of Chelsea grooming a poodle a month or so ago and thought she did such a good job, which is why I subscribed to this channel as I was looking for as much info about poodles as I was getting ready to welcome one into my home. Well lo and behold I am so excited now that Emily has one and I am hoping to see more grooming videos of Donny, as he looks so much like the one I just got! My partí black and white poodle is only 9 weeks right now, but I can’t wait until I can take him to a good groomer and get his haircut and so glad she is going to keep the length of the legs as that is what I want also, lol, I don’t like poodle cuts that leave to legs long and skinny. Please share if you find any good tips as I need all the help I can get with this crazy poodle! Good job grooming Donny today Emily!
Thank you so much! Poodles are some of our favorites to groom and we’ve got lots of clients that get different poodle cuts so we will be sure to keep the videos coming! Congrats on your baby! They’re a handful but they’re awesome. ❤️
I'm trying to groom my baby mini poodle. I am not a professional but have taken several great grooming classes and have been grooming my three older poodles for a decade. I'm not great but I am somewhat experienced. I really appreciated this video that emphasizes training and conditioning vs. perfection. I am doing a here and there grooming with my baby for the last three months. He is now 6 months and going through a teenage rebellious and teenage stage so grooming has not become more easy with the conditioning as I expected. But, we are making slow progress. It is all about patient, slow progress.
We aim to not only help groomers but to help those grooming mom's who do it at home. Im so happy you could learn from our video. We've had so many grooming moms reach out. Thank you so much for watching.
ive been using Natures specialties coconut clean shampoo and pairing it with their island coconut cologne and its wonderful on my spoo puppy! the shampoo is very conditioning and the smell last for awhile. i use The Stuff for brush outs and so far no complaints.
My poodles never humped. But my new female did the first 2 days home. I believe it has to do with stress. She was ripped away from what she knew and her family so it is understandable. She is 12 weeks now and hasn't humped since the first days.
Ahh, he’s so cute , I’m getting a red standard poodle next week she’ll be 8 weeks :) where are you guys located? I’m in Texas as well, I stay in the Dallas area
I'm a new groomer just graduated it may. I just bought my first standard poodle puppy. She looks like him but she is brown and white not black. My question is are they parti or abstract poodles. I think they are abstract because they don't have enough white to be considered a parti. They have more color than white making them Absract instead of parti. Of course still beautiful dogs just wanted to know the specific name for their pattern. Also Mismarked is the same as abstract
I read below that you live in the Houston area. I am in San Antonio, and I'm wondering if you would mind sharing with me who you purchased your poodle from? I love the party poodles, and would love to get one.
Emily…he’s beautiful! We are planning to adopt a standard poodle. Any advice about male versus female? Did you plan on adopting a male or did you just decide by individual personality?
Thanks so much! I definitely planned on getting a male because I tend to like male dogs more but that is just personal preference! The main thing you want to be mindful of is what dogs are already in the household if any. Females tend to fight more, so if there is already an established female a male may fit in better. If there is already two males, a female may fit in better. I preferred males for their size, males tend to be larger than females! Just a few things to think about but at the end of the day whatever feels right to you is best and training is key!
I’m in the same 😆 boat, I been grooming for 16 years but I never own a poodle And I’m looking for any tips that could help me, I’m getting a puppy soon ❤️❤️
Did you say you used an 8 on the body? I am new to grooming and just got a solid black standard. I owned a silver beige almost 10 year old and she passed from bloat. I will be having the stomach tacked on this new pup. How old is your pup in this video?
@@goodtimesgrooming8105 I just got a standard Parti Poodle like a week ago, he's about 2 months as well, planning to give him a haircut soon to make him look like am actual Poodle🐩
