Bah bah Yousef! This reminds me of my own. As a very recent graduate I developed my own ground beef (or chicken or turkey) stew based on my maman’s usual advieh she would use! I still cook it weekly! Just ground meat, onions, garlic, carrots and potatoes, with turmeric, oregano, cinnamon, cardamom, and gooreh ❤️❤️

What is it with Persians and Thanksgiving? My Persian brothers were in graduate school here in 1979... Anyhow when they disagreed to stop what they were doing and go serve in the war going home was no longer an option. For the next number of years as they finished school and moved on, we had them at all of our white cultural holidays. {1 observant Muslim and the rest of us non believers in any of it) but the best holiday was always Thanksgiving. I spoke.to my brother thursday. So thanks for a little old home feelings.
