balance has changed quite a bit since i got aquatinted with the antlion greatsword, but it carried me through midgame and the beginning of lategame. it was possibly the first tier 3 item i made since antlion parts and silk rope are pretty easy to come by
@@xzavierhansen3636 You literally stand away from it and pick off the larva one by one with a crossbow. You might have to move slightly from time to time if one actually aggros on you and you can't finish it off before it gets to you, but that's pretty rare.
The salt morning star is actually really powerful, if you use it with the shield and tier 3 barbarian mutation the barbarion keeping you from parrying is negated and the healing+damage bonus makes it incredibly powerful (note that a couple of things in this might be inaccurate since I havent played in a while) Edit: I commented this like 2 seconds before you said its good with barbarian
Yeah it is good but with the shield debuff it means you’d be better off using no shield and no barbarian ironically. Problem then is that the salty club of the mother demon is superior
You should do a few recommended set videos. Like say, in the lower yard what are the best combo that can carry you through the mid yard. Then once you get tier two gear, what’s the best to carry you to the upper and above. Once you get tier 3 gear, what are the best combos for everything else.
So weird, I have more antlion pincers then I can ever use. I got the Antlion sword with just a couple kills in the sandbox. That weapon can be a really strong interim weapon and I used it for a bit.
I feel you, but look at it this way, to get 7 Antlion Pincers, you will have the parts to craft the ENTIRE set of Antlion Armor, you most definitely have a tier 2 hammer so you should have max level Fresh Defense too… which means. Even without a Larva Spike, You are able to withstand the heat of the Charcoal spill making it just suboptimal to craft one and upgrade it instead of just going to the BBQ spill
@@the_1_percentmilk805 I'm nearing endgame now, the antlion sword was the first I crafted and it carried me through a lot together with the coaltana (which was stupid easy to get with the antlion sword). The key is to make the antlion sword fresh, that way it works great against the ladybugs and larvas as well as covering other things the coaltana can't easily deal with (like the dust mites, the mosquitoes, fire ants etc). It's not optimal against some, like the fire ants you'd prefer pierce/fresh, but it's more than good enough really. It's also really good against the antlions themselves so if you have to get more pincers for the armor set for BBQ it's your best bet. Third weapon is the salty morningstar which rounds out the setup, good at dealing with wasps and a few other things the two swords aren't great at, plus it's generally a decent weapon and untyped so a good fallback weapon with shield for those oh shit moments. But yeah, fresh antlion sword does a lot of heavy lifting. I'm now through the upper yard ressource acquisition and can make all non-boss weapons pretty much, but am unsure what to replace the antlion sword with. It's definitely the "starter T3 weapon", but it's an essential one and everyone should definitely make and upgrade it to get a good jumpstart in the upper yard. The ladybirds alone are reason enough really, plus it trivializes a lot of things in the lower yard. And it's THE weapon for the haze with fresh. It's just a good sword man. And since you have it with coaltana, it makes the blademaster perk quite relevant.
@@Paraly5er no, but they’re also the only spear and dagger that can stun. Point being when you do happen to get a stun, it can give you a big advantage. And it’s not an uncommon occurrence in my experience.
I wouldnt argue that the black ant shovel is a good weapon per say but as a stun tool + if you can animation cancel to attack quicker you can stun enemies down pretty quick
The club of the motherdemon specced in salty absolutely annihalate black ox beatles. A single 3 hit combo at lvl 9 is enough to drop them, the coaltana is definately S because its so good against spiders and lower yard ants, which you will encounter often.
@Paraly5er not to mention how great the salty club is against the mantis! Especially in new game + when you get it passed lvl 9. A 3 hit combo and she's down half health if she isn't specced in armor
Speaking of black widow, one of the most foolproof ways of beating her is sour tick sword and ladybug armor. I haven’t tested on whoa, but I’m pretty confident. Almost impossible to die with merely competent parrying.
I honestly think that the widow dagger is a easy A tier. If you go down the spicy path then it is easily the best unless you’re fighting bosses. It is so fast and the poison damage with broodmother armor is crazy. I understand that the widow fight is much harder but having done that fight in a previous update it goes A tier for me! Nice tier list besides that.
Interesting, I just think it relies too much on the poison and venom damage and enemies that are resistant to those damages are going to be hard to kill using it
Hey para! Haven’t watched you in a while, but I still love your content ❤ a while ago my Xbox broke and I stopped watching, but I figured out I’m stupid and forgot it was on steam so now I think I’m gonna start playing the new update! But my cousin that I played it with stopped playing, so do you think I could get your steam? Thanks anyways if you don’t ❤
Is there a requirement to get the mint mace and other special weapons to upgrade to T6? The prompt in the something station is not showing, do I need to get a chip or something for it? I can upgrade normal weapons up the elemental path so I got the sandbox chips, am I missing something?
@Paraly5er yeah it was the promt to upgrade that was not showing up at all. I did a validate games file scan and had a few files that got corrupted since I last played and that was the issue, so I wasn't missing something, my game was just broke.
*So i will have to try all of them but i tried most and funny enough i beat the black widow with a Antlion great sword lvl 7 sour and i love it, its my overall fave cause i need to try the sour battle axe first but yeah so far 1.)Ant lion GS 2.)mint mace but yeah i need more context.*
@@Paraly5er I unlocked the Scythe yesterday and I notice that the weapon was really slow and does not do so much damage, so I thought it didn't make sense that a weapon unlocked by a boss like that would suck so much. So I stopped by your channel, and seeing it in rank A and I immediately realized that something was wrong. After that I went to watch some videos on the weapon itself and the attack speed was totally different. The weapon now has the same attack speed as the Sour Battle-axe
I'm confused with the SpiderFang dagger. Bleed,Poison and speed can carry you all the way until you start fighting Widows. At which point you replace it with it's better version. What's the story with the Black Ant sword? It doesn't do anything better apart from be the next sword you get after the Larva Blade. And you get it either by being at the BlackAnt Lab or the Shed Table. You have much better options by the time it's available. Never tried the stinger spear though. Might give that one a whirl. interesting List though. Mostly agree. Going to
Black ant sword just hits so damn hard it's insane, the dagger feels like a feather tickling the enemies and I usually don't have assassin for the bleed at that point
@@Paraly5er So. I changed a few things about how I play the game, and I can say it's okay. I feel like it still has an awkward spot,, because I might as well go for the Termite axe instead at that point. However, I can say a lot is different in terms of how strong you can get. That sour battle axe with giddy goo is amazing. The Widow armour, with dagger or assassin armour is strong, got to say pretty balanced. I think the game needs a dagger alternative though or let you duel wield or something. but Black ant sword = pretty good. Thanks for giving us ideas.
Sour Battle Axe is by far the most powerful weapon in the game, yes, you have to defeat Director Schmector, but it is worth it when you finally get him down and he truly isn’t even hard, I recently defeated him with only healing once, maybe I overprepared? It has amazing stun and chopper just makes it even better, and to make it a pure killer just have chopper, (maybe cardio fan) and some stun mutations and you can make it a truck rigged with explosives, it’s unfair sometimes. The only downside is you have to upgrade it to make it like that as well, so you have to work for your powerhouse of a weapon but again, it is worth it
@@Paraly5er Always remember, playing games is for old people only, kids are meant to work in the mines... I think he means something like that anyway :D
What is a good stabbing weapon + upgrade spicy/fresh/sour etc. ? I like the tiger mosquito rapier and then the rusty spear. I could do a different element on each.
Sir your sleeping on the charged attacks but they really help when you find a sleeping wolf spider to get that extra damage and a bleed/poison effect helps as well
Why no candy staffs? I use the spicy staff for literally everything even killing the BW who are resistant to spicy now but with enough time on your hands and in a safe place I find very useful
