I forgot to mention I'm treating this run as a TAS (tool assistted speedrun) with the use of a macro for the door launch at 2:14. I have a Logitech mouse so used Logitech G Hub to set the macro to press E to close the door, then 50ms later press E then jump with a 1ms delay between. Really sorry I didn't communicate this from the start! I don't want any doubt hanging over future runs so thought it better late than never to tell you all. Cheers!
@@CesarProductions31 Working on a broodmother tas on the previous patch which I'd like to get uploaded before I go away until the 11th, I haven't done any queen theorycrafting yet really and knowing my track record you'll be lucky if it was this month. I do want to get it done as soon as I can though so I'll try!
incredible to see both door skips actually used in a run, i found it out a while ago and tested but never found anywhere before where you could use it without dying, congrats on the time
Oh you found it too? Nice. Routing broodmother with it a bit the other day and can launch to hedge, haze, oak and coals all just from the leaves around rake rock. Can use a dandelion to slow yourself, higher fps launches you faster though so if you're playing at like 90 or above you basically insta die haha. Sucks cause console players at 30fps actually can't make certain launches which could well be crucial for particular runs. Thanks!
@@HolyCodzta yea I noticed recently I’ve been instantly dying with flings, especially because on a gaming pc and flinging near the edge of the door you can sometimes go around 4000 centimeters per second if you launch of the edge of map while super high up, guess I should try to cap my fps
Nicely done! Never would have expected door launching to be that much faster than running around. You were about 70 seconds faster than my run at the start of the fight
Thanks! Yeah it's mad. The launch can be better as well if you jump as you land to carry your momentum, it can easily carry too much though so you just slam into the bin bags. I think 4:20 is doable for sure. Thank you for finding the door fling!
Thanks! I could but it wouldn't be very long! There's a couple of infected gnats barely in the haze on the southeast edge of the rake rock which you can get fungal growth from. So go get them then respawn at kid case and run to anthill for an egg. Respawn at kid case again and recover backpacks. Scan ant egg, fibre and pebblet. Make an axe and get a dandelion tuft, some grass and some dry grass and craft a bratburst. Run to hedge lab retainer wall and parkour up the grass, run along to milk carton then just float down to the door!
Damn that's pretty good! Maybe I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes. Maybe I could record it and upload it in between uploading some longer runs
hi holycodzta just here for a tip if you like eat or drink anything and block you can still get the effect of what ever you drank or eat and so its faster for the run to end instead of just waiting for the eating item or drinking item im pretty sure it works for anything anyways i hope this tip helps you and also great vid nice job!
Could you timestamp where that cost me some time? I'm used to block cancelling to save time but always keen to save more! I can only think of 3:16 when I ate a mushroom but that didn't cost anything
no like when you are fighting whatever you are fighting and it almost kills you just block, it dosen't put the animation of the eating item and you have your spear you can atack and still have the effect
@@DDCS369 Ahh I'm with ya. Yeah I think in this case it wasn't an issue as I was waiting for stamina to regen anyway. Surprisingly I don't like wasting time though so I appreciate the heads up!
@@DDCS369 Oh and actually I think you can attack anyway while an eating or drinking animation is in progress. Maybe that's just with fists though, I can't fully remember while I'm not playing the game haha. Cause you can see in my any% run, when fighting the same boss I kept punching and just pressed the hotkey to eat a granola which didn't interrupt my punching. I do often block cancel those sorts of animations though if I'm focusing on a difficult enemy and my character's hands doing other things could distract me
First off this was incredible. Amazing amazing job. One thing I noticed the electricity pillars never went off?! They always do for me. I guess you killed him too quick? Idk. But fr good job
Thanks so much! Not 100% sure, but it seems like he'll do lasers and pylons at different health stages but he also seems to be scripted to shoot a couple of electric balls between setting off the lasers or pylons, so the timing worked out that he was at a health stage to do lasers every time. Or I'm just chatting rubbish, it's random and I got lucky. Pretty certain he won't activate the pylons until he's below 50% though
Playing thru the game right now, watching your pure skills and knowledge is very entertaining!! I can suggest doing some co op speedruns it would be very interesting 🤔 ether way keep doing you champ
@@HolyCodzta i started a week ago slowly moving thru it, insanely good game waiting for my second monitor on a repair and im gonna start a "newby" coop 100days with my friend will see how it goes
i just finished my first playthrough with a friend a few days ago,man it was so good, hope you enjoy the game as much as i did it really felt magical ,exploring all this stuff, finding secrets, new gear ,new enemies n such. for me ,it felt way more like an rpg, than a survival game, but it was perfect !
@@HolyCodzta i mean you technically dont need to kill the adds which could save alot of time but it would get cluttered and they can kill you if you arent careful, worth a shot though maybe
@@littlecreeper8543 Yeah true actually. Keep your distance from the boss so the adds don't group up around him and just launch spears from range. Might be tough with only 2 granolas but doable I reckon after grinding out practice for a bit
@@HolyCodzta yea good luck with that, you got any tips for learning routes since I want to try this aswell, learned black widow pretty easy this morning and got some runs around 8 minutes on super duper update but not really confident on assistant manager fight
Yeah set up a test world for the run you wanna do and set some beacons along the route. Practice run that a few times, toggling markers on and off as you go so you don't only focus on the beacon and that should help. I started with just wolf spider runs as that was super simple and it took me a good while to be able to remember all the steps for the longer runs, even the super chips run which was only 20 minutes
Yeah should be a good one! Looks like it'll have to be glitched as well because I can't get the wasps to get angry at me on day 1. Sweet, got 100% yet then? After all the hours I've put into the game I still don't have 100% haha
Tips for widow... Depends how perfect you wanna get it. I think anyone that roughly follows this route and can parry the widow could pretty easily get under 10 minutes. This isn't all totally necessary because I didn't do all of it 100% as good as I could have, but if you wanna beat my time: Test and figure out exactly how few spears you can comfortably fight her with and so how many of each material you need to collect along the way. Run between each destination in as straight a line as possible while still getting enough resources for spears; you can set up a test save with beacons at the field station and parkour spots to practice the line. Get good at saving stamina with sprint jumping, e.g. letting go of sprint immediately after jumping and only pressing sprint again when you're as close to landing as possible. Learn the rhythm for throwing spears for minimal time between throws and don't accidentally cancel any throws by throwing again. Start your next volley immediately as your stamina regens (if you're not currently parrying an attack obviously). Start throwing spears at her before she jumps up. Hopefully they stick in and you can grab them again when she's up. Something I just thought of but never tried so might not be worth the stamina, but you could stab in between the 4th and 5th attack of the 5 attack combo for some cheeky damage. Feels like I'm missing something but hope that helps. Good luck!
Just OBS! I'm glad you think so though, I've messed around with settings quite a bit trying to make it look the best I can considering youtube's compression. I run OBS as administrator to try and minimise dropped frames and record at 60fps and 150,000Kbps. Then just trimmed it down and faded in and out with adobe premiere and exported at a VBR of 120,000Kbps.
Their damage got reduced from 90 to 75 so while pretty hefty they're probably still good. Still on version 1.1 doing other things so unable to test it yet. I think fights are just gonna be a bit slower going forward
@@HolyCodzta it seems to use more durability so I've not tried it on stems yet. That said t3 grass cutter means with a pebble axe you one shot the grass.
Oh interesting, I've only used it in speedruns and only ever really chop one dandelion per run so never noticed. Sweet, I guess they buffed grass cutter then? I feel like I remember needing the termite axe + chest piece to one hit grass in the past
Whenever you're throwing you axe at grass and picking it up. How do you do that so efficiently?? No matter how much I'm trying even with wide accessibility mode on. It's a hit or miss for me being able to pick it up. Do you use scroll wheel or a macro?
I've had an issue recently with wide interact saying it's on but it's actually not working. So turn it off, save your settings, back all the way out of the menus, then go back in and turn it on again that should make it work. Once you're sure that's working, there really isn't much to it. It's hard to explain other than just pick it up as soon as it hits the grass. It does come out a bit above where you're looking and a bit to the left, so aim a bit to the right when you throw it and sometimes you might have to look up after throwing it to be able to pick it back up. I don't use scroll wheel or a macro for it. If you're still struggling, send me a clip of you trying it and maybe I can see where you're going wrong. Good luck!
@@HolyCodzta alright, you're a legend, I'll definitely try that. I actually saw the patch notes for a recent patch early yesterday saying they fixed the wide interaction. Thanks for the feedback brother
That would just add 30 seconds to a broodmother run by recovering backpacks at kid case, scanning the fang at the first field station and then crafting it. Not much more to it really!
Don't play casually anymore but used to run sleek aphid slippers, bulky widow chest, sleek brood mask, rusty spear and fire ant shield. Gnatchos meal combined with daredevil mutation and natural explorer makes for fun exploration, don't even need a dandelion. Yours?
@@HolyCodzta nice! I'm a little new but I like to use the posin build with brood mask, chest and pants of black widow and dagger lvl 7. But sometimes it feels that I need more resistance specially vs bosses I'm killing broodmother right now getting gear to kill Mantis
Don't think they'll affect any of the run up to the fight but with her increased health and ridiculous increased resistance going up to almost 97%, combined with reduced thrown spear damage the fight will take a lot longer now. Haven't fought her since the update so we'll see how it goes
Great update, if you're not a speedrunner! Spiky sprig hucking nerf (via stagger cooldown), thrown spear nerf, and can't get wasps (or any creatures) aggroed early in the game it seems so can't do glitchless wasp queen. Also need a T3 hammer for sour lumps so more ox rng! Yayyyy...
@@HolyCodzta yeah saw the balance changes, seems like earlygame things like lil fist, power droplet and weapon throwing got nerfed but there were some buffs in the mid and lategame, L for speedrunning but it'll make regular playthroughs nicer
Just cause of the extra time to get rust and scan it. And by the time I can make and use it I'm basically at the end where the java defense is on a set timer so it wouldn't really help. Will definitely have a look at trying to integrate it next time I go for any% record though. Infected broodmother might need so will probably get it in an all bosses run!
Basically just press whatever key or button (E for me) to close the door, then while it's closing press E again and jump pretty much at the same time but jump ever so slightly after. I used a macro for it because I couldn't get it consistent and what worked was setting it to jump 1ms after pressing E the second time
Just throw another one as soon as the current one leaves your hand, rinse and repeat. Takes a bit to learn the timing, if you throw the next one too soon it will cancel the throw of the current one before it actually leaves your hand. That doesn't cost any stamina but it does waste time
