This ownership group seems unwilling to move on from Brendan and he seems unwilling to move on from the core four. I hope I'm wrong but I will be happily surprised if major changes occur. I'm not sure what was going on with Riley but he looked to be a shell of the man I seen at last years playoff, slow and unengaged.

As a goalie, the puck goes into the corner you take a quick look to c where the players are. U see pasta coming, u get.out there and poke it away. Put it towards the boards or the corner and live to c another day

Vancouver is on their 3rd string goalie. Its a culture.....its coaching. They have no structure on offense or defense. Thats coaching. The power play sucked going into the playoffs and they made no changes. They wouldnt even put a man in front of the net.

On fire. Totally on point. This team can still get value from a team for Marner, just not full price. Time for the page to be turned on that chapter, no question about that. I was a scout for a USHL team for a number of years, and so many kids coming up with that same 'me first' mentality - been coddled way too much growing up, get the yips and the scares when the tempo gets turned up by the guys with heart. Keep doing what you're doing boys, you're my go to for Leafs commentary now over any other outlet.

I like Marner, he is fun to watch when he plays, but he is the next Phil Kessel, no drive to win and lead the team. He will win a cup exactly like Kessel did, on a team where he isn't a top line player. He is gonna end up a depth player somewhere.

The third line of Jarnkrok, Holmberg and Robertson combined for ZERO points and a combined dash 7. That and one PP goal and missing top players and McMann was a recipe for a loss. The Leafs were the better team.

Ask Tavares to willingly give up the C to Auston - he would do it professionally. That would be seen as a positive - not stripping at all. "I've requested that Auston take on the C for the Leafs - I do it respectfully and with full approval. Auston has earned and deserves it. I will fully support Auston and the entire team going forward. I swear on my Leaf blanket this is true!"

Im all for Marner getting traded. He can NOT perform when it matters most..but wouldn't it be the most Leafy thing if he got traded and come back to play against us, got a whole video tribute and goes out and scores like 6 points? Lol it usually happens with less talented players who leave town. You cant worry about it though. The need to seriously try to talk to him about waiving that NMC and learn from it..stop giving out these big money contracts with NMC.

ONCE JT and Marner are gone the LEAFS will get passed the 1st Round of the Playoffs and go a lot further into the Playoffs even as far as winning the Cup as well getting 2 TOP 1st pairing D and reliable Goalie not taking anything away from Woll , BUT he is unpredictable when it comes to injuries ..Just my opinion ...Been a LEAF Fan for decades always will be , BUT things have to change IF it doesn't change this summer or sooner within the next 1-2 months it will be the same ole same ole BS like it has been for the past 10 years OUT the 1st Round

TJ allowed to walk, Lill and Robertson in trade. 16 traded or pushed if possible. Don't want to see Keefe go, but we need a new look there and it'd be bad for optics if he says. Of course, sign new Markstrom-esque GT.

@@RattleheadVic73I don't want him to, but he probably should. The reason I don't want him to go is he seems to be a train-the-team-better kind of coach. He's also been in a really hard position throughout with Covid-19, taking over from Babcock, and being under Dubas who tried his best to reinvent the way hockey is played. Since Tre gave him the tools to play playoff hockey, he eventually did the last three games of the Leafs season. We've seen too much change over the last decade at the Leafs - isn't there something to be said for stability? Anyway, all of that aside - despite my admittedly too lenient opinion - I agree with Rosie. Keefe and 16 should probably go. Definitely 16, and Keefe partly because he's pandered so much to the princess culture Mitch represents. I'm sure there's a hockey market that would love Mitch, I just don't think it's in the greater Toronto area.

As much as we want things to change, nothing is going to happen. It’s going to be some minor tweaks for next year and another status quo season. The seats are full of bums and until that changes, which it won’t, don’t expect anything new or severe.

this choke jo again falls directly on Mattthews. Highest paid player and over 8 years of playoffs has scored 0.42 goals p/game - that is abysmal for someone making $12 Mill. Players have played with punctured lungs, sternums, torn ACL's, broken legs and he bailed. Do you think Matthew Tkachuk, Bergeron, Hyman didn't ignore doctor's orders, obviously they did. Now he gets a raise for 4 years for being a loser - lay blame where it belongs and it starts with Shanny and Matthews - get rid of them both.

You know I think if Marner gained 20 pounds that would change his game man and he would turn into a bonifide superstar. I strongly believe that. I used to be his size....I play sports. I used to get thrown around and was timid. I started bodybuilding and it became a lifestyle. Not saying he has to become a bodybuilder.....but from man to man when you gain size it gives you a hell of alot of confidence. Testosterone is everything to a man..lol That said its been 8 years and he hasn't taken enough intiative . But I believe the guy lacks some confidence because of that. Just my opinion. I can see why leafs are having trouble letting go though. It was the potential.

How many times have they been beat by bad goal tending. All I hear is how bad Marner was when he is the set up man which I saw several plays fron Marner that were not finished by the goal scores

honestly we need to step back and rethink this. its hard to have a winning team. we just needed better goaltending. woll stole them game. maybe we just need a new manager. i would not get rid of marner. he should make adjustments for playoffs and stop dancing around but we have a good team and they played there heart out.

Mngmt squandered the talent burnt the farm prioritized small players and lost great talent - without getting anything in return. You can’t beat a big team with small team. I’m going to put my stick in your back until you make me stop and the leafs have no one to do that. There is nothing wrong with the core but there is a huge problem with the fans and mngmt, and that is loyalty. Without loyalty, you never win. Scapegoating marner is idiocy. He is a great player. Did no one hear he had a high ankle sprain? Playoff stats: Marner 57 games 50 points +10 two way player Nylander 54 games 43 points +1 inconsistent one way player Matthews 55 games 48 points +2 two way player Tavares with leafs 37 games 22 points +1 They that want to get rid of your best playoff two way player really just do not want Toronto to win. Other interesting dubas mistakes: keeping nylander over Hyman Hyman 65 games 48 points +5 two player with grit-playoff character Kadri 52 games 44 points +15 two player with grit-playoff character With the leafs 19 games 10 points +6 Mike Babcock future HoF coach with gold medals, stanleycups If Toronto had gone with Babcock and hunter this team would have had playoff ready size and toughness in the supporting cast built thru the farm and they would have had a dynasty

Toronto scapegoating marner is idiocy because the leafs mngmt have a vision problem This team lost because the team is SMALL. This team sucks in the playoffs b3cause dubas was too stupid to realize that he got unbelievably lucky to get so much talent that the farm would be integral to building a great team. Instead, he traded away big players, draft picks and success prioritizing small players. One year, he had to choose between nylander and Hyman. His choice made it so easy for other teams because they only have to defend one scoring style. His stupidity now extends to Pittsburgh. Winning requires many elements and loyalty to the players is fundamental. Fans utter lack of loyalty is undeserving of a winning team.

OT sucks. At no point did Boston lead in game 7. But we did, and time goes on for Boston to catch up. When Boston score for their lead, it’s game over! So dumb, at least in soccer you play the entire time period when it’s in extra time.
