I have to thank you Marvdogger2 cause now im falling in love with the groupe B, especially the 205 t16...ok im french so im surely not obvious but its still my favorite car ever! 530Chvx with a 1.8l, 3 bars turbo! INCROYABLE!
@@alejandromaciel8031 but in reality a WRC car would eat those cars alive lol, lets be real here they were fast in a straight yeah, but on a technical track a modern wrc have it. Still badass nevertheless
I bet the youngsters looking back to the sport will really think this was 2014 from the intro hehe! Also... I obsess constantly on wanting to build a street Quattro to chase the coat tails of these beasts.... One day....
Thanks Marv You've Done It Again.. :) G.B.F.A.B .....( Group B Fanatic All Day ) --(Robot Voice) "The Group B regulations fostered some of the quickest, most powerful and sophisticated rally cars ever built and is commonly referred to as the golden era of rallying" ---( Awesome Movie Voice )
Mounting the onboard cameras was not too bad inside the car. They used small 16mm camera's and you mounted them to the rollcage inside the car usually. The only problem was because they were using small 16mm camera's they could not run as much film through them so they would run out before the end of the stage most times. Mounting the cameras onto the car on the outside was a mission as you had to build a whole rig so you used it on a shakedown and not on the rally itself as it would add weight and could be knocked off.
+Marvdogger2 cool man....you know your shit! Very interesting- makes the onboard footage that is about a bit more precious. Thanks for the reply and the info.
Every time I hop in a Group B car in Dirt Rally it makes my heart beat a little faster...I can't imagine the sheer violence of these cars behind the wheel in real life. Every single one a certified death machine. Drivers were built different back then i'm telling ya 🤣
It obvious from the sound that its an S4 and the test with bettega was'nt shot with a motion picture camera just a photo camera. www.rallyclubattiliobettega.it/Nuova%20pagina%201_file/AttilioBettega/037/037%201.jpg
What happened to the emotional conclusion to this??? The one where everyone talked about how this time in their lives was the greatest experience ever. Come on....
@@sccrash420 Its private for now as a guy has been going around reporting rally channels and getting them removed from youtube so i've had to set a lot of my videos to private for the time being.
@@Marvdogger2 I get it. Crystal clear. However, couldn't you mark the video as Unlisted instead of private??? That way it won't show up in a search or appear on your channel, but those of us with the url (saved in playlist) can still enjoy your videos.
"A 0 to 60mph time of around 3.0 to 3.2 seconds and the G forces pinning you to the seat would, from the author’s experience, try and fold your face around the integral head rests of the seats." - MGownersclub Sounds pretty damn quick to me LOL!
+Marvdogger2 actually she was promising but didn't have the time to wake up her potential as group b ended soon after her appearance (sorry for my bad english)
The group B cars were wild, noisy and for sure difficult to handle. But today's WRC cars are faster and require even more driving skills. The ones who believe that group B was the true spirit of rally racing are just ignorant old farts who glorify the past while missing the future.
