Natalie your simple in-depth resolve tutorials explained in a very calm manner is what I love the most, as a Mentor you have a great ability to teach students by going down at their level of understanding & decoding complex task in a simple manner. This ability is rare & I wish your channel was available when I was starting with Resolve in 2016 nevertheless I still enjoy re-learning the basics all over again as I get to discover few new things which I wasn't even aware of. I wish you both grow more & more, achieve your goals as a Davinci Resolve Mentor, BMD should be thankful that the kind of tutorials you both are making for their software which is making more people adopt Resolve in the time to come.

Super exited for the course! Great video as always, I was wondering a little more about order of operations. I was doing a grade, and I was using node based color management. I was having an issue where it was hard to see the final result when applying a look at the timeline level, whenever i went back to the clip, i couldn't see what the final result would be. I'm very interested in learning more about order of operations. (also, I really appreciate it when you show the diagrams from the manual, that was an excellent touch!)

I'm chiming in about the beautiful tone of your videos. I'm really enjoying the quality of the content and I'm looking forward to learning more about the course you're working on. As for this video, thank you for the thoughtful discussion. My workflow includes elements you touched on in your video. What I particularly appreciated were the insights you provided about when you'd want to use one technique over another. That is something I've been working through as I've used my workflow on various projects. If you're inclined to do a follow-up on this topic of groups, you may wish to include the topic of what can and cannot be done in group gradings (pre- and post-clip). For example, tracking is only possible at the clip level. If you performed a targeted secondary grade (for example, key and increase gamma on the subject's face), you have to repeat the grading and tracking for each clip in that group at the clip level.
@team2films

Hello! Great video. Where in the order should I put CST? Could I put input colorspace to working colorspace in the ”group pre clip” and working colorspace to output in ”group post clip”?
@team2films
@team2films 7 месяцев назад
We'd suggest you use Resolve Colour Management instead. There's no need to use CSTs for colour management unless there is something very specific you are trying to achieve. But to answer your question, yes you could place the CST pre clip. You could even put the CST Out in the timeline node tree as all your clips will likely be in a common working space.
@RumleKjaer

I wish there was a non-adjustment layer option "between" post-group and timeline. When you want the same creative look for all your clips, but want the classic Rec709 look on all your shots before. Would make it much easier when working with multiple color profiles. Like right now I have a documentary with FX3, DJI, Panasonic, iPhone, 360 camera and a handycam. Since I want the same look on all clips, but don't want it spreaded out on multiple post-groups, I have to do it as an adjustment layer. However, when fixing single clips, the adjustment layer will always be the first clip in color page (because it is on top). Therefore, issue.
@team2films
@team2films 5 часов назад
Hello, there’s an easy fix. Put it on its own layer consistently, then ALT click that layer in the colour page to exclude it from the clips. Its effects will still be visible, but it will not be included in the clips panel. Remember it’s alt click on the layer label in the timeline viewer on the color page. Does that make sense?

Amazing tutorial. But why would you use the groups method to grade vs the local and remote grades method? What are the advantages/cons of each method? Thanks 😊
@team2films
@team2films 8 месяцев назад
There's a section in the video where we attempted to explain that with our example footage. The interview consists of 5 different takes. Remote grades won't help there. A group is needed. Or if you want to give an entire scene a creative look. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and thanks for your kind compliment.
@HeyAdamGrasso
@HeyAdamGrasso 8 месяцев назад
@@team2films ah. Ok gotcha. Because a remote grade only links clips that are the exact same video file right?

I meant if I can apply an film LUT working inside Davinci YRGB Color Managed settings. Not with CST nodes. Do you follow?
@team2films
@team2films 7 месяцев назад
Yes, that's exactly what I am referring to. In the bleach bypass video we apply a film emulation lut inside of a Colour Managed Workflow. It will show you how to do it.

As professionals which can trust in every video published, probably you could solve me a doubt and an issue, in some video formats, when we want use fusion a tracker for example when we changed from edit to fusion window the video shrinks and the checkered background shows on, and when I change to edit tab once more the video remains shrinked with a black background around the media used, how it can be solved?
@team2films
@team2films 7 месяцев назад
Hello! Thanks for watching. A fusion comp with a transparent background (indicated by the checkerboard) will show up as black when you go back to the edit page if there isn't anything behind it. That's expected behaviour. Try putting a clip on the track below to see if it's visible in the black areas. As regards the sizing issue, I'm sure there's an explanation but it's difficult to diagnose without more information!
