Hi Melissa, thank you so much for sharing with us! We really appreciate your hard work filming those processes 😊❤ I also like growing plants from babies. Please keep us posted 🥰💚🧡
Your success with your tc plants makes me want to try myself. I have a Musa Nono pink variegated on my list, but living way north of you in Ontario I was scared to overwinter an established plant so 🤞🏼for the late Spring, and maybe now I will be able to find a tc plant instead.
Oh I saw those on the same site I got these from. I was tempted the pink looked so pretty 🤩 probably a good idea to wait for spring! I think it’s growing really fast so a TC of it should do well!
I like all your videos but this one really had exceptional educational and editing values in my opinion. I could add entertainment value as well. Including several updates in a single video really helped drive home what you were teaching your viewers. I also enjoy starting plants as seedlings, watching them grow is very satisfying. My wife says it is humorously ironic to see me working with tiny plants because I am so tall (6’ 6”) and she says that the seedlings look lost in my big hands. Anyway, thanks again this was a wonderful video. Glad the plants recovered nicely. Plantologist Extraordinaire without a doubt.
@@plantsbymelissa Banana's grow crazy good in Phoenix, believe it or not. Lol pretty sure the variegated one would need shaded or grown indoors. Maybe I'll give one a try this year!
I love banana trees!! They are very easy care and grow very fast 🥰 I bought an ice cream banana in February last year as a seedling and it’s over 4 ft tall now!
@@hberror404oh no 😢 I’m sorry! I’m curious how this one will do in my environment. I was told they are a bit more difficult but maybe different varieties are easier?
@@hberror404 yeah I do😊 I kept mine inside until it was consistently warm outside and in a 4in pot but other than that it’s grown like a weed! I live in Florida and people just stick them in the ground here. I didn’t want it to spread to mine stays in a huge pot on my porch and it loves it. The leaves don’t really care for the wind though😂
I always got my eyes on a Veriegated banana plant. I think they are so gorgeous. I can't wait to see how big & beautiful it will turn out to be. I never tried to order a tinny baby plant. I wanted to so bad. Maybe in spring or summertime.❤
So excited to watch! I'm currently acclimating my first TC, a Jose Buono. It's doing really well. I got so many tips from your previous TC video! Looking forward to seeing how well they're doing🥰💚
So much fun to watch. Love the comprehensive update. Thank you! I also get my TC plantlets from OLN and they’ve all been growing great. I don’t use soil though, I de-flask straight to pon and fluval stratum mix, then repot later to only pon, the fluval stratum gradually washes off with every rinse until only pon is left.
Your Musa will be stunning when it gets big. My personal inside joke is me wondering where you are going to put it once it gets 4-6’ tall 😂. I was considering one for my banana collection, but I’m growing mine for fruiting goals in the PNW and I’m paranoid someone would steal it when I move them outside in the spring. That’s an incredible price though. Not significantly more than a regular banana start. Love the BMF. Coming along nicely. Im considering putting mine under the lights till spring for a little turbo boost. Need that claw! Maybe I missed it cause I’m turrible on social media. Do you have a mint monstera cut for sale soon? Love what you’ve shown so far.
Enjoy your videos❤ I watch many plants videos every day and you all use music with the constant drum or other repetitive sounds and it gets to the point where I turn the sound off. To pick music that all viewers like is almost impossible. As they say silence is golden😊 I found this video very interesting and look forward to more videos.
Great video on TC Melissa! Glad you were able to rehab them and they're doing well now. Cant wait to see your B M Flame mature 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 as well as the Ace of Spades (that's a wish list plant of mine maybe in a year's time cos I'm on a plant ban atm 😉😍
Thank you!! I’m so excited for the flame! Cant wait!! Haha definitely understand the plant ban. I just got another plant mail so that’s it for me for awhile 😂🫶🏻
I have been loving you vids so much! I love to watch the plants you have grow and progress. i have always wondered if i could do tissue cultures, and i might give it a try 😊
Glad I could finally get the video up!! I wished I could have included one more update. It’s been about a week since the last one and they already look like they’re growing more 🥹
If you had to buy another cabinet which one would you buy? I have 4 TC plants I bought local here in the US. I agree it's more satisfying to grow from a tiny plant and watch it grow.
I’ve been tempted by the rudsta wide cabinet. The milsbo is nice for taller plants I guess because you can create more room but I love the cabinet mostly for props and smaller plants 😁
Haha! mine too! It's just so expensive to get at the time right now. I mean i saw one for 250$ and when i saw your burle marx i was super jealous! @@plantsbymelissa 😅
Your tissue cultures are looking very good! This video reminded me of something, and you’ve probably heard of this channel. It’s called plantsinjars. She talks all about tissue culture. If you go to her channel that last video she put up she talks about the Delta Force. Really interesting, and the she brought up a channel called Pretty in Green if you look at his playlist he talk about what happened with Costa Farms and why they didn’t bring out the Tia constellation and others. She teaches how to set up your own lab (like) in your house and you can even start your own TC from your own plants. You’ve probably heard of Plantsinajar already but if not check her out. She usually only posts once a week but I think she said she was going to post twice a week. The channel Pretty in Green also does TC and it sounded like he had a shop.
Thanks for sharing! I think I meant to look her up and forgot to. Someone mentioned her channel in the previous video I did. I’ll check out her channel! ❤
Hi Melissa - I ordered the seedling trays from your Amazon link but the lids don't click on so the humidity is really low. Is there a different type you used here?
Can you start tissue culture plants off in perlite if they have been growing in dirt I ordered a jacklin and they were growing it in dirt is the reason I was asking
I received the same banana as a substitute from OLN and it also appeared to have rot when I received it. I’ve had it for almost 2 months and it’s rotted twice having to pull rot off and start over. I ended up putting a layer of chunky perlite over stratum that was barely moist and had hardly any roots left and it just sprouted a new leaf. It’s been a struggle.
Hi @alimac3330 - I bought a 5-plantlet set about a month ago from the same place. I used tap water for everything, and all the plantlets are going strong. I feel it worthy to mention, the nursery is pretty darned good too! They are fast and responsive. I placed my order on a Wed, and it was delivered on the following Mon. Good luck!!
If you ever hear of a good deal for caramel marble tissue culture don’t buy it! I bought some and wondered why I couldn’t see any color besides green then while watching a Kaylee Ellen video and she said that they have problems with TC on them. So I guess I have a bunch of Philodendron Pluto
Oh interesting! I hadn’t heard that yet. I actually saw some caramel marble TC’s on Etsy. So sorry that happened to yours 🥲 I appreciate you for letting me know! I do want one eventually!
Interesting just read it's a cross between a monstera and a philodendron I guess that's why I have heard it called philodendron burle marx flame this is first time I have monstera
