Supplies used in this video:
• Trays amzn.to/47VKn3Y
• Fluval Stratum amzn.to/3KPPrwI
• Perlite amzn.to/3QRYNvY
• Rooting Hormone amzn.to/3KOhdtG
• Fungicide amzn.to/3sgPJ9q
• LED Lights amzn.to/47HFZFw
• LED Bulbs (if you have a smaller space) amzn.to/3KST4lM
• Fertilizer amzn.to/45l5kDH
The lights I recommended above are different than the ones I use in my laboratory! My lights are T5 grow lights with 4 rows of tubes each and they are totally OVERKILL (they are leftovers from the year I got really into cacti...). I had to modify them to not fry my TC plants.

Your videos made me realize how important hygiene and sterilization is. I've crafted the same 'still air box' but instead of tissue culture , I sterilize soil in the microwave and do my cuttings in a clean and sterile environment. First time I've tried that , 8/12 of my plants succeeded (didn't rot) and grew roots etc. I've made a huge mistake with removing the lit for a whole day, just to find out most of them died out, but it doesn't really matter, it was just an experiment and it worked! So far it works best with softwood cuttings. Also, keep up the good work , its really nice that you are chasing what you love and I admire that!

There's some pushback against substrates like Fluval Stratum in the aquarium community. The thinking goes that it doesn't do anything special for aquatic plants, and similar calcined clay media like kitty litter or oil absorbent work just as well and cost less than $10/giant bag. A trip to the auto parts store for some Oil Dri or Tractor Supply Company for Safe T Sorb might make for an interesting head-to-head comparison. It could also obviate the need for perlite. For kitty litter, any non-clump and un-scented natural clay version should work as well as the oil absorbents.

So I am not sure if you are interested, but it would be cool to see a version of this for Aquatic plants. As I mentioned in my last message to you, the Aquarium hobby is VERY big into Tissue culture plants as it provides a guaranteed pest free way to bring plants into your aquarium, compared to the other cheaper methods (Plants grown in ponds and lakes, or other aquariums) which often come with snails, planaria and leaches, AND if grown by a commercial grower dragonfly/mayfly larvae. However we don't actually do anything that could be considered acclimating. Standard procedure (as you can tell from a quick google) is to remove the plant from the Media, rinse off as much media as possible and then plant in the aquarium substrate (either Gravel, sand or aqua soil) or attach to the rock if its a Rheophyte or Lithophytes, of either a filled aquarium, or if you are more patient a dry start tank. The former method is WELL known to lead to slow growth initially, as the plant needs to adapt to both being underwater AND out of media at the same time. (Meanwhile the Drystart is similar to what you do here, but less sterile.) Actually TBH, I am curious if its possible to culture in such a way that its already acclimated to being under water. You have mentioned in other videos using a liquid media instead of the solid media used in most Aquarium culture setups. Although that might decrease growth rate.

Also, I would a video on how to properly dispose of TC medium. Like if you want to save the jar, where do you get rid of the medium? I have a few questions… I use Professor Monstera Method, do you think it will work for TC? I dont want to burn out my plants with the fertilizers.. But I love how they’re tailored to monstera so i’m hoping i can keep them. Except the medium would be cocoperlite.. I can list the fertilizers if needed also can i use 100% fluval stratum? If i cant use PMM that is..

loved the video, I always learn so much! One question at 8:26 you mention against removing the humidity dome unless the plant needs terrarium like conditions and show a picture of a Sarracenia (pitcher plant) but that genus is entirely north American based and to my knowledge is recommended for outdoor growing not a terrarium? If it was the unrelated Sun Pitchers from South America Heliamphora then I'd understand because they live in high elevations. Idk I feel like there's a lot of misinformation out there that all carnivores plants are tropical and need terrarium care, and while there's a few genera that do, most like the Venus flytrap (native to N. Carolina) don't

I purchased 12 jars of Musa Florida and Musa Nono tissue culture but all of them died 😔. However, I'm not giving up. This time, will try your method and see how it goes. I think my 1st mistake was using a container that did not maintain any humidity at all. 2ndly I kept on opening the cover every 2 to 3 days for healthy check, and somtimes adding more water to the planting media.

Question re the Wilt Stop. The active in this is Pinene. From what i have been advised is Pinene in the incorrect dosage can block the plants completely from transpiration. This is potentially also dangerous. Wouldn't a silica based mono-silica acid be a better option to address wilting and other stresses for the tissue culture plants? there are other benefits to the silica in this form i'm just wandering if this isn't a better and safer option as it also protects plants immune system? Your thoughts would be appreciated
