Michigan is such a great state for growing! We hate our cold winters, wet springs, and pesky droughts but they all contribute to factors that make our season unique. Thanks for the comment and good luck this season!

I learned a lot from this vid on Comfrey! I used to have lots of chickens for decades! They only eat what they want! They scratch the bugs from under the greens & eat! Buff Orpingtons are a very nice heavy breed!

I don't know why people plant Hostas when they could plant comfrey! I'm expanding these all over my property. It's truly one of the best plants we can grow. Unlimited usage

Thanks! I thought chickens would be a lot of work but they are really easy. Even without free ranging we could leave them alone for a week and they'd be self sufficient.

I got hit with 277 volts through the heart and it exited through this elbow. I am fairly certain I cooked it. If comfrey can heal it I will be a true believer in all the claimed benefits

#4 seems to be the least common. I got mine from Coe's Comfrey

@@FastGardeningMichigan I can walk 5-10 km relatively painlessly again (don't know if comfrey alone was the main catalyst in recovery or just taking a bit of rest), but since my knee has been hurt in several places, I still have to see if it works everywhere ;'-) pain shifted a bit. I mashed it in my hands instead of chewing it. Perhaps there's another way still to get all the beneficial fluids out of it? Perhaps using a blender or such?

I find the leaves a bit dry too, it's hard to imagine enough fluid getting on the skin?

I was thinking of using mature audience plant around my chicken run for shade this summer. I figured most green things could just go in to the chickens and they would eat what they should eat. Hubby could use some comfy for his elbow and although I don’t think I’m far from you I have no idea where I would put anything else. Hubs just about died when a blueberry, raspberry and black berry order showed up last Monday. He was cheering on the slugs that ate my cabbage plants until I took his beer to put in cups in that bed. Lmao

My comfrey does not spread, unless I dig it up and move it. The bumblebees are all over the flowers, even when it’s raining they are buzzing along.

How would Comfrey work as a border plant along outer walls ..meaning is it easy enough to manage. Or does it go balls out growing everywhere? So you got zapped and you added Comfrey?! Will you now have the power of Comfrey? Bummer super hero power bud ha

Comfrey claims a 3 foot radius wherever it grows. Disturb it and more comfrey pops up. I lost 3,000 mature audience plant seeds.. mice ate any leftovers I had in the garage. I tore my garage apart and ended up with 5 seeds, 1 germinated. Luckily I have a couple volunteers in the garden and I did spend ridiculous amounts of money for "regular seeds" just so I can restock

I'm 2 1/2 hours West of you on the lake. If you do happen upon the next batch of logs and one is hollow keep it in three foot section and I'll come over . I'll bring Corey and we can all go to the local skate ramp ha oh and I'm looking to put Comfrey in front along the porch. If you still have any to spare please send it my way 🤠. My creeping flox were destroyed when we had new water lines installed

You know I set that kid up with MAP seeds during COVID and helped him start a worm composting bin and then he never grew anything ha
