Terrific video! Thank you so much! I also was motivated by watching your videos. I am just beginning to start microgreen growing myself. Wish me luck! I’ve always loved gardening and now have a beautiful third floor deck in my Center City Philadelphia townhouse, by following your motto: “keep on growing!“ It’s full of fruit trees and vegetables. But, I want to survive the winter without missing gardening, so I’m on to microgreens. Thank you so much for your inspiration, John!

Hey John, I watched your growing greens channel 12 years ago when I changed my diet to get over health issues (you were building your beds at the time). More recently I came across your re-named channel, and have to say that it looks like you haven't aged! ... Me? I've aged about 12 years, but then I've not continued on with the super healthy lifestyle that you promote, although I do eat 'healthier' than the average person. Keep going - it's a pleasure to watch you and your abundant enthusiasm :)

Thank you so so much for this!! I am in awe that he uses per gram the same amount of seeds that I've seen other growers use on trays 2 times the size. Does he use about 20 grams for all of his small pans? If so, then how many grams does he use for a 10 x 20? I do like the density but curious about the number of grams it would take for a larger pan.

They should offer those trays in half sizes for markets....Only reason I suggest this is because you mentioned that he sold 1/2 a tray to one customer. I think people would be "apt" to trying more options for less of a price (new people looking to get into eating micro greens and don't want to buy too much and not like it and have to throw the rest away, more like "sampler" sizes) You could potentially charge more for buying less too, which in turn increases you're profits! Just an idea.

I should point out that Vegas recycles their water and an RO system will NOT remove any pharmaceuticals that get recycled. I too installed an under the counter RO system, only to wonder why the water still didn't taste quite right. Then I found out about the recycling. I went back to drinking bottled water and use the RO only for watering plants. (Not sure if the plants absorb them or not.) Now you can buy an electric distiller from Amazon that will give you pure water, but it takes around 5 hours to make a pot full, plus a lot of electricity. I did buy an atmospheric water system (Aquaboy) from Home Depot. It makes water from air by collecting water dripping from condensation on refrigeration tubes, and cycles it through various filters and uses UV lights to kill off any bacteria. The concept is sound, but it's not ideal for Las Vegas because of the ultra low humidity that it depends on. While it's rated at 6 gallons per day max, it can only produce 1 gallon per day here in Nevada. If you live by the coast it would be ideal.

You could collect the water from your ac, that is distilled water.

Not sure if I put any stock in the grow lights, since the trays are getting sunlight from the window.

Don't forget to factor in electricity cost for lighting and environmental maintenance.

Jack, a handsome man, walked into a sports bar around 9:58 pm. He sat down at the bar next to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and stared up at the TV as the 10 o'clock news came on. The news crew was covering a story of a man on a ledge of a large building, preparing to jump. Alexandria looked at Jack and said, "Do you think he'll jump?” Jack said, "You know what, I bet he will.” Alexandria replied, "Well, I bet he won't.” Jack placed $30 on the bar and said, "You're on!” Just as she placed her money on the bar, the guy did a swan dive off of the building, falling to his death. She was very upset and handed her $30 to Jack, saying, "Fair's fair... Here's your money.” Jack replied, "I can't take your money. I saw this earlier on the 5 o'clock news and knew he would jump.” Alexandria replied, "I did too, but I didn't think he'd do it again.” Jack took the money. Alexandria went back to work in the U.S. Congress.

If she had her way, Jack would be taxed 70% on his winnings. Jack would've walked away with $9. 😁

Hi john, i have a problem choosing the right lights for microgreen. I have 2 options at the moment : a) T5 LED fluorescent (6500K) @ 14w b) T8 LED fluorescent (6500K) @ 18w Understand both lack in terms of light intensity compared to those with higher wattage, but would adding extra 1-2 lights solve the intensity prob ? Thk you for your time

Is the warm air being vented into the rack? or the cool air? Could Dustin get away with a fan circulating the apartment air into the rack? Just not sure how warm it is there in Vegas. I'm wondering if Canadians would have to do the reverse.
